22 How to Play as God

"This is one of my greatest creations. It's recently made. Not even Superman can destroy this." Lex exclaimed.

The giant machine slowly approached Sora. Every step was excruciatingly loud. Two energy cannons sat on its back. When the machine grew close, Sora raised an eyebrow.

"It has boosters…Why are they green? Is it running on kryptonite?" He asked.

"Of course. A mineral that could turn a kryptonian's strength into that of a toddler. Just thinking about how I'll crush Superman after this leaves me with butterflies!" Lex answered.

"...I honestly don't care about the boy scout, but to assume that this scrap could beat me is quite arrogant." Sora grumbled.

"It isn't arrogance. I just believe in humanity. Good luck."

The comms went dark after the genius spoke. Sora couldn't help but shake his head. Might as well see what this heap of junk was capable of.

An arm was raised into the air. Moving gears could be heard as the machine prepared a heavy punch. Thrusters shot out the back of the elbow, launching the fist down onto Sora.

BANG

It hit nothing but the ground. A crater was left in its wake. Barely any effort was needed for the sleepy man to evade. A single jump backward, and he was out of range.

The machine armor didn't stop there. Seeing that its attack missed, it charged the energy cannons. Green particles gathered on the tips of the barrel. About a second later, two powerful beams shot out.

The beam scorched the ground as it traveled. Sora elegantly sidestepped the beams. Too easy. Unfortunately, they were a constant stream of energy. The killer robot directed its aim toward the quick fighter once more. This caused the beams to drag across the room.

He didn't want to keep dodging. Sora closed the distance with a quick dash, circling behind the automated machine. He raised a finger and shot a small laser. Upon reaching the armor, a purple force field revealed itself. It covered the entire mech and blocked the small beam.

"I already told you. Humanity has long since evolved past laser based weaponry. Your powers are obsolete." Lex commented through the comms.

The machine slowly turned around, ignoring the laser hitting against the purple energy shield. Sora couldn't help but cringe at how slow it was. When the mech finally turned around, it couldn't find the lazy man.

Sora had already flashed behind it again. He raised his finger once more, and shot a small beam. It was blocked as expected. Lex couldn't help but frown.

"You are fast but I guess your brain is small. It's useless."

"...Can you be quiet? I'm busy if you can't tell." Sora commented. The genius couldn't help but chuckle.

"Why? I quite like my voice. You don't enjoy it?"

"It's annoying."

"The ladies say they love my voice."

"...They just want your money."

"Ouch! Burn! That was mean."

The beam shooting out of Sora's finger was constant this time. A single tiny laser that wasn't achieving anything. With a heavy groan of machinery, the robot finally faced him again. It slowly approached, not even bothering to shoot its cannons.

Sora and Lex couldn't help but converse as it approached. Lex could already foresee his victory. Such was the reason he kept speaking.

"Are you going to dodge again? I must say, this is quite boring. Maybe I should leave you here and go watch a movie." The genius mocked.

"...It's boring because you made this machine so damn slow."

"Yes, yes. I get it. You're fast. I know that you're trying to outlast the machine. Unfortunately for you, this baby has infinite energy. Once you run out of power, you're dead."

The robot was only two steps from reaching Sora. A yawn threatened to escape his lips. His finger was still raised, shooting the same small beam. Things were getting tedious.

"I really do like purple. That force field is truly beautiful. Oh right! Lex, I gotta tell you something." Sora said.

"What now, Sora?" Lex responded.

"Check this out…I'm actually a human. Shocking right? I know. But…I can play as God. A REAL God. Let me show you!" A wide smile adorned Sora's face.

"................." The genius only watched with a frown.

The robot was point blank with Sora. It looked down at him while raising its fist. Thrusters once again shot out of the elbow. The young Lockhart couldn't help but pretend that his finger was a gun.

"Bang…" He muttered.

BZZZWWW

Instantly, the small laser grew into a colossal hyper beam. It was gigantic. Huge enough to blind the room. Lex's eyes almost popped out of his skull. The entire scenery had become like a twilight.

The purple shield crumbled like a sheet of paper. Its armor quickly disintegrated into dust. Before three seconds had even passed, the entire mech had disappeared. That wasn't all. The entire bottom floor had vanished. It was now smooth like molten glass.

If one looked through the gargantuan hole in the facility, they would find a titanic rift in the ocean. The remaining water was steaming as if lava had passed through. There was no doubt that the civilians back in Metropolis saw the huge light, turning night into day.

Sora couldn't help but stretch his joints. Raising his finger for such a long time made his shoulder a bit stiff. A pop could be heard as he cracked it. Lex hadn't spoken a word, too shocked at what he'd just seen. Unfortunately, the sleepy man wasn't going to wait.

He took a step and flashed beside the genius. It didn't matter that he was behind heavy duty observation glass. Sora grasped his throat, raising him off the ground. They immediately vanished.

Without warning, they were now floating above the island. Sora gave Lex a few seconds for his brain to catch up. The arrogant genius only stared at him with a glazed look. It was as if his entire brain was resetting, trying to categorize a new level for Sora.

"Putting me on the same level as Superman…are you stupid?" Sora muttered.

Lex could only see radiance within the young Lockhart's eyes. His golden pupils glowed with power. After a moment of self doubt, Luthor spoke.

"Impossible. This type of strength…You shouldn't have it! It should be me!" He roared.

At that moment, Sora flared the power within him. The star force circulated within his veins. A vast pressure descended onto the area. The sleepy man didn't want to drag this out any longer. He decided to help Lex understand.

"This is your island, right? Look…"

Sora grabbed the back of his head, forcing him to see the island. The titanic pressure slowly grew. Cracks began to appear on the ground. That wasn't all. The facility along with everything else was turning to ash before Lex's very eyes.

"...I'm only using enough energy to roll over in bed. This is barely a fraction of my power." Sora continued.

As Lex struggled to escape the powerful grip on his skull, he couldn't help but watch the destruction of his island. The edges of the land were soon below sea level. It was sinking.

"To you, I AM God. Don't antagonize me, Lex. I could destroy everything you've ever worked for on a whim. Don't you get it?" The lazy butler spoke slowly.

"Alright! I get it!" Lex exclaimed in pain.

His legs flailed while his hands clawed behind him. Hanging in the air from one's head was painful to the neck. As the island sank to the depths of the sea, Sora beamed over to the Lexcorp rooftop. They were now on the helipad.

The wealthy Lockhart threw the genius onto the ground as if he was trash. He then stomped on Lex's arm, shattering the bone. A cracking sound reverberated through the air.

"AHHHHHHHH!" Lex squealed in pain.

"...That's your slap on the wrist. I look forward to doing business with you, little Lex."

Sora chastised Lex as if he was the man's father. After glancing at the arrogant genius who was squirming on the floor, he vanished. The king sized bed was calling his name.

Rage could be seen on Lex's face as soon as the coast was clear. Absolute fury. As he thought of what he could do, his expression slowly became one of despair. What the hell could he do against that? Nothing.
