89 Champion of the Ancient Ruins

Sora beamed across the ocean. It barely took a second before he appeared near his destination. Egypt was directly below him. Vast deserts and dunes. This wasn't a place he'd want to live.

The sleepy man flew for a bit longer and came across something new. Destruction could be found throughout the area. It seemed to be a sort of fall city. Broken debris and eroded buildings. One could easily tell it used to be an empire.

'Where have I seen this before?' He thought.

Green Lantern was in the distance. The hero was in the process of getting double teamed. Straight up manhandled. Smacking him around like school bullies.

The first guy wore a similar suit to Hal, except it was yellow. His skin was tinged in red along with an evil mustache. The obvious cliche villain mustache.

"Sinestro." Sora muttered. He then glanced at the next figure.

Helping the villain was a brutish looking alien. He also wore a similar suit except it was red. Red skin and deathly yellow eyes. This guy was big, with razor sharp teeth jutting out his mouth. There were no lips to hide them which gave the red lantern a demonic aura.

"Sinestro and Atrocitus. Two different Lanterns teaming up? How unexpected..."

Atrocitus grabbed the injured Green Lantern and threw him up into the air. When he fell back down, the red alien slammed a red construct fist into his stomach. Hal's body bent like a bow before blasting off.

BOOM

He crashed through the side of a pyramid. Sinestro pressed the advantage and followed. A yellow beam quickly shot into the hole. It was definitely a one sided beating. Maybe Green Lantern had put up a good fight before, but that wasn't the case now. Heroes seemed to constantly be on the verge of losing in this universe.

Sora appeared in front of the hole. He backhanded the yellow beam, sending it in a different direction. The yellow lantern frowned upon seeing the new arrival. Just when they were about to finish it. Sinestro couldn't help but frown.

"Who are you? Don't get in my w-" He began to speak.

Before he could finish his words, the young Lockhart was already beside him. A shiny foot was nearing his face. There wasn't going to be any dilly dallying today. Sora had his women to return to. Therefore, no wasting time.

DING

Along with the chime of a bell, Sinestro's head turned into a bloody mist. His body slammed into the red lantern. To the human eye, both villains had suddenly disappeared. Both of them had beamed into the ruins.

'That's one. Maybe two.' Sora thought.

The ruins suddenly detonated with extreme radiance. An explosive ray was sent with the yellow lantern's corpse, and only now was it exploding. It almost seemed as if the blast would swallow this fallen empire.

A sudden silence permeated the area. It was quiet. As he floated in the air, the young Lockhart decided to try new ways to use his abilities. He would begin exploring after today. Sora never needed to do this, since he was so powerful.

It was better to be safer than sorry though. The weakest Aragami was able to possess Superman. Stronger ones would be much harder to deal with. Many thoughts were going through the wealthy nouveau's mind.

At this moment, a buzz resounded nearby. There was a yellow trail of light that stopped in front of Sora. It was a ring that seemed to have its own consciousness. It slid onto his hand without warning.

'You are capable of bringing great fear.' A voice resounded in his mind.

The sleepy man's radiant light immediately turned golden. Even the clothes had changed. Sora couldn't help but raise an eyebrow.

"...I don't need a ring to bring fear. One should learn to do it on their own." He muttered before taking it off and sending it to the skyrealm.

His radiant light soon returned to its normal color, which was a mix of white and a slight tinge of sky blue. It was at this moment that noise reverberated from the ruins. An angry Atrocitus was digging himself out of debris.

"You're strong, but getting in my way was where you went wrong. My rage…has no limit! Die!" The red alien roared.

He flew as fast as he could toward the floating Lockhart. The red lantern's arm reared back, and a massive red gauntlet materialized above his fist. Sora welcomed the attack. He also raised his fist.

CRASH

Both fists met, and the gauntlet shattered like glass. Atrocitus' hand was crushed as the seemingly casual fist moved like an unstoppable force. No matter. The red lantern raised his other fist, but it was met with the same action. Both hands were crushed, his bones pulverized.

"Ahhh!" He roared in pain.

"...You've got some fight, but I'm not here to play. Goodbye."

Sora tapped the red alien's head, and the inside of his body was instantly frozen. That's right. Frozen. The sleepy man was changing the temperatures of his light! Atrocitus fell into the sand like the corpse he was.

It was at this moment that Green Lantern came out of his hole. While holding his injuries, he noticed Sora's back. A depreciating smile appeared on his face. He knew he didn't deserve to be helped by this godlike man.

"Sora…what brings you here?" He called out. The young Lockhart turned around.

"I'm actually on vacation. Who would've thought you were close to my vacation spot? Well…not THAT close, but it's close for me." Sora spoke slowly. Hal chuckled weakly.

"Where…where is everyone?"

"Well. I kicked the yellow guy to heaven, and the red one…" Sora pointed to the frozen corpse.

Green Lantern raised an eyebrow. Ice? Yet another ability that this powerful man had but didn't use! Hal was starting to feel inadequate.

"I envy you, Sora."

"...Because I'm stronger than you?"

The green hero could feel Sora's mocking smile. They'd fought together many times, so it wasn't hard to understand each other. Such was the reason Hal wasn't offended.

"Of course. I can't even win unless it's a one on one. Fights are never fair against a villain. I'm always at a disadvantage."

"Mmm…then there's only one thing left to do." Sora patted his shoulder. "Pursue strength with your abilities. Don't take time off…work for it." Sora commented. Hal shook his head.

"Of course. That's all I can do at this point. Sora-no. Darkstar, I don't deserve your kindness." He commented. The young Lockhart's face grew cold.

"...At least you're aware."

KRAKOOM

At some point, the sky had grown dark. Heavy storm clouds surrounded the fallen city. How did it happen so fast? Sora scratched the back of his head. Lightning flashed through these clouds, thunder booming with splendor.

The two had somehow found themselves in the middle of a storm. In the desert. How bizarre was that? As the lightning grew more intense, rain started to fall.

An opening appeared in the clouds. It resembled a swirling vortex. Truly intimidating to those without strength. A pulsing blue light descended from the vortex, revealing a single man.

"You think you can enter my domain and do as you please?" A deep voice resounded.

He was a buff man. Muscular. A black skin tight suit with golden trimmings covered his body. There was even a hood, that made it hard to see his face. Lightning crackled around his body like snakes.
