6 Chapter 6: A simple solution
Selina, Harley, and Ivy took a fighting stance while I stayed sitting on my chair. I was eating candy, like Buddha from Record of Ragnarök. Selina was the first to break the silent tension.
Selina: Well~Well~ Bats I didn't know you were bringing friends here.
Batman: We are not here for you. We are here for him.
He pointed at me to which Selina, Ivy, and Harley started getting defensive.
Harley: Fat chance Batfucker! Little Acno, stay with us.
Ivy grew some plants behind her. A fight was going to start before Orion spoke.
Aquaman: Batman, why are we here for an impostor?
Batman looked at Orion with the same look as I.
Batman: What do you mean impostor, that is Acnologia.
Aquaman: No, it's not. Acnologia would never for someone even less as a bouncer. Unless one of those three is a powerful sorceress?
Batman: None of them is a sorceress and that is Acnologia.
Acnologia: Batman is correct. If you must know the reason why I am working for them is the same reason why I will stay here whether you guys want it or not.
This confused the members of the Justice League. Flash was the first one to bite at my bait.
Flash: What's the reason?
Acnologia: It's because I allowed it.
Orion sighed in relief.
Aquaman: It really is you! I am glad to see you are well.
Flash: Wow, you were not kidding when you were describing his… personality.
Acnologia: So, what's the reason for you all to be here? Batman has been spying on me like a pedophile for months, I allowed it but what changed?
Harley: I knew you were sick Batman but spying on kid! That's low, even villains don't do!
Aquaman: I told you that he knew you were watching him.
Acnologia: I'm still waiting for the answer.
Orion took the stage and explained to me about an element called Kryptonite. It was extremely lethal to Kryptonians, for Superman was the last remaining one and the bad guy would use it against him. My necklace was made of Kryptonite and the bad guys would come after me.
Acnologia: So, you want me not to kill the people that will come for it? I guess I can allow them to live and spread the knowledge of what is off-limits.
Flash: Wow, you really were underselling him.
Wonder Woman: No that is not what we want. We would like to put that necklace in a secure location.
I eyed Wonder Woman then the rest of the Justice League. A dead silence reign for five minutes before I spoke.
Acnologia: If I get this right, my necklace is made of a rare element that is dangerous to Superman. The bad guys could use it against Superman, and you wish to avoid that.
Batman: That is correct.
Acnologia: I am disappointed that you guys have not figured out a simpler solution to this, one where I keep my necklace.
They were confused but Batman was the first to speak.
Batman: And what would that solution be?
I clapped my hand and touched my Atlantean armor. It was similar to the one Kaldur had but much thicker and blue. It was thicker at my request for such an occasion. A trident came out of my armor leaving a thin piece of clothing covering my upper body. The Trident was similar to the one Poseidon had from the Record of Ragnarök.
To be honest, I had the same clothes as him but instead of white, it was black clothes. I looked at the Justice League that was getting ready for a fight.
Acnologia: My solution is quite simple. If-When I kill Superman then there will be no need for the bad guys to come to bother me.
Wonder Woman: We won't let you do that.
Acnologia: that is where you are wrong. It is I that will not ALLOW you to stop me.
Flash: Way to jump the gun but kid even if you manage to get passed us that Trident might be sharp, but it won't hurt Superman.
I clapped my hands and touch the prongs of my trident. The blade changed into Kryptonite. I pointed my left hand at them and grabbed the air. They fell to the ground while screaming in pain.
Acnologia: I will be back after visiting Metropolis.
I used Soru to leave the club and appear in the air. I then used Geppo to get to Metropolis.
~3rd POV~
Acnologia had already left five minutes ago. Ivy and Harley grabbed Popcorn to watch the heroes suffer while Selina was keeping an eye on them to make sure her friend would not go for Batman while he was down.
Suddenly that pain stopped, and the heroes regained their bearings.
Aquaman: Now you understand why I was against taking the necklace. That majority vote just caused us Superman's life.
Martian Manhunter: Calm down friend. I am sure that Superman will be able to handle the young Atlantean until we arrive.
Batman: I would like to know why you did not inform us he could transform matter into Kryptonite as well as what he just did to us.
Aquaman: It is because I did not know. The only one who knew what Acnologia is capable of, other than himself, might have very well been the late queen, my mother.
Flash: Hey Aquaman, be real with us. What is the chance he goes for the kill?
Aquaman: If it had been for anything else I would not be certain, but we just attempted to take the necklace from his point of view.
Wonder Woman: That was not our intention. We just wanted him to come with us to a secure location.
Aquaman: That did not matter as soon as he realize our intention was the necklace. He will kill Superman and anyone who's after his necklace.
Harley: You hear that Ivy, Let's go to Metropolis, a show is about to start and Cats you owe me one for stopping you last week from trying to steal Acno's necklace.
At Metropolis, Superman had just stopped a bank robbery when Acnologia landed near him. He had already reset his armor back. He approaches Superman.
Acnologia: Superman!
Superman: Yes, what can I do for you young man?
Acnologia: I had come here to kill you but attacking you when you are not preparing would be disgraceful for someone such as myself. I will allow you one week to get your affairs in order then I will come to kill you.
Everyone, from the robbers to the policemen to the bank workers, was speechless. Superman was surprised. He then got a call from Batman telling him that someone was after him. Batman's description matched the kid that was in front of him. When he turned to get a second look, the kid was already gone.
They regrouped at the Watch Tower where Aquaman came late with a headache.
Aquaman: I have some good news and some bad news.
Superman: What's the good news?
Aquaman: Acnologia won't use any underhanded trick during your fight.
Batman: What's the bad news?
Aquaman: *Sigh* I learned from Mera that he can control people via their blood. His Aquakinesis is the strongest to ever be recorded. If we try to interfere with his duel then he will either use that to stop us, kill Superman, or worse.
Flash: There is something worse?
Aquaman: He could turn the entire block into Kryptonite if we were to interfere.
Batman narrowed his eyes.
Batman: J'onn, were you able to read his mind during our conversation?
Martian Manhunter: Sadly, I was not he possesses a strong mind, anytime I had the intention of doing so his guard would rise.
Aquaman: that is because like I had said he can feel your emotions and intentions.
Superman: All that for a necklace?
Aquaman: *Sigh* Like I have been telling you guys, for him that necklace is worth more than Atlantis itself.
Aquaman looked at Batman.
Aquaman: Don't even think about it.
This confused everyone.
Aquaman: After spending time with Acnologia, you start to pick up a thing or two. I know you were planning something regarding that necklace. Let me guess you wanted Flash to get the necklace and then tell Acnologia to surrender, correct?
Batman: That is one of the plans, I had in mind.
Aquaman: then let me tell you to want Acnologia would have done as a response. He would have crushed Flash's lunges, used his blood to bring the necklace back to him then cause a tsunami as retaliation.
There was a silence in the Watch Tower.
Flash: Can't you order him to stop like you're his king right?
Aquaman: The late Queen's last royal decree was that no one could order Acnologia around though it was more to stop the general from pestering him than anything else. As I said, that necklace is worth more to him than anything else.
