62: Deal

"What kind of deal would you want to make with me? I don't think I have anything you need?" Mike asked puzzled.

From the very start of the conversation, Mike didn't understand why Wade was telling him all this as it had nothing to do with him. He was just a Rank 2 Apprentice, and after learning that his junior had already advanced to the Rank 3, he was downcast.

So, anything he had in his mind had already blurred, right now he could be considered in a confused state, it was no different than him falling for the Rank 0 spell confusion.

Seeing his state Wade couldn't help but laugh inside, he could guess that his senior was quite flabbergasted after hearing all that he had to say.

It couldn't be helped, according to normal circumstances his senior should be the one after his most senior Sam to advance to Rank 3 but because of various reasons, Mike had not been able to reach that stage.

He had not even heard him ask Sam or Mentor Fred for help in obtaining the Mana stabilising potion, meaning that he was still quite far away from his advancement.

He thought it was quite peculiar that even having the backing of a Sage family Mike had not advanced, but he wasn't privy to such information as he didn't want to end up in any mess.

After giving his senior some time to calm down and return to his prior happy self he continued, " I would like you to contact your family and ask them if they were interested in making a partnership deal with me"

Hearing this Mike finally understood that what kind of deal Wad wanted from him. He wanted to use his connections in the subterranean city to help his progress in the potion master field.

He could understand Wade's thoughts as it was quite hard for an individual person without any Sage families backing to make a proper footing in the subterranean city.

If Wade had gone directly to sell his potions in the subterranean city there was a high chance that someone would use this as a chance to make him sign an agreement in pressure so as to make him make potions for them at very low prices.

As such he had come ahead and wanted to make a deal with his family, this not only showed that he trusted him but, as he was the one who would make such a Potioneering talent join their families side he would be given quite a bit of importance.

Thai could lead to him obtaining more resources for his meditation, which would help him in advancement in the future. Thinking till here he was quite appreciative of this junior of his giving him such an opportunity, he had even decided that he would try to help him obtain the best deal he could.

"Wade, what kind of deal are we talking about?" Mike asked with a wide smile on his face.

"It's very simple, as I would be trying my hands on more basic and even higher grades of potions in the future I would need quite a lot of ingredients for this potions.

Some of them might only cost 3 to 4 magic crystals a set, while some could go way above 300 to 400 magic crystals a set in the future, so I would like your family to consider this while making the contract.

As for the contract itself, it has a very simple clause in it, your family will give me a discount on the ingredients that I need to buy, about 5 to 6 % should be it and in return, all kind of potions that I create would be sold to them in their shop for the market price of the subterranean world, as for how much they can sell them for in later time doesn't matter to me.

Also, this discount is given separately from all other terms meaning, that if later I can gain a discount through some other means than this discount will directly be added, for example, if I gain a discount through some friend I make in the city and through him I get a discount of 4% in your shops then this discount would be directly added to the prior 6% leading to a total of 10% discount.

I know what I am asking for is a lot but you know my practice speed, my rate of success is only lower than Senior Sam by a little, once I go to the city and improve than the number of potions will increase exponentially.

As for the percentage of discount that your family gives me will decide how many potions I provide them after my concoction is done.

Meaning that if they give me 5% discount then I will sell them 50% of my concocted potions, on the premise that I am selling that potion.

I would be leaving tomorrow in the afternoon on the ship, you can ask your family for their response and reply to me tomorrow before I leave, as for signing of the contract, it would be done at your family store when I get there" Wade said all that he wanted to say.

Mike was just sitting there completely dumbfounded by what he had heard, at first he had thought that Wade wanted to enter his family under this contract and become their exclusive potion master, but it turned out that he was really talking about a deal that was on equal footing.

He had never even thought that there would come a day when an individual apprentice, without any Sage family backing him would try to make a deal with a Sage family at equal footing.
