CHAPTER 1: Night Walk

As you were walking in the side walk with the bright moon shining upon you, moving vehicles and the breeze of wind coming from the forest surrounded by barb wire fence. As you hurried up to buy something in the near by supermarket.

As you reached the supermarket. With its bright lights,white building with 2 floors stock with items and few customers and a cashier. As you walked through the cashier.

"Oh hey David. You're here to get some midnight snacks?" teased the cashier with a smile

"I am..John.. Must be a pain to work on night shift" annoyed as you walked passed him not waiting for a reply as you hurried to the food section of the store.

This is good enough. Although i need to sleep early but the stress is keeping me all night as you grabbed 2 ramen noodles and head back to John

"That will be 1 dollar and 25 cents..and oh by the way. Be careful, they say there is a serial killer going around"as he gestures you and he grabbed the 2 noodle packets as you give him your credit card

"Pretty stack, being engineer and all" as he gives you a half smile and continued doing his work

"With all the stress? Not worth it" you replied with a sad tone as you walked outside the store.

As you walked you can't help but noticed a eerie silence in the forest. It should have some noises but no it doesn't even have a sound. This mysterious forest has been off limits since the time when a police officer came back from the forest to investigate the murder of 3 teens with a shock and terrified face and 2 days after he committed suicide. Even thinking about it now gives you the scare as you hastens your pace back to your apartment. Your apartment is stated in the 5th floor of the building with its lavish interior covered in bright and light colours and an all around house with kitchen,2 bedroom, bathroom and a dining hall and an extra space where you do all your work. You are indeed living a life. Although you are not happy with your current situation.

As you turned the lights and sat on the violet sofa as you see all your paperworks gently sitted on your table as your phone rings.

"Hello?" you ask

"Um..this is Lena..i am your architect...remember?" she said with a timid voice

"What is it that you want?" you ask with a serious tone as you walked towards the kitchen and started cooking the noodles

"Um..well..you see..just look in the news!" she shouted as she hangs up

weird..what has gotten up to her as you walked towards the tv and turned it on.

"Hah! look at this new invention..we can finally open a worm hole that can teleport us anywhere. A truly break through in science" the man said in a lab coat with a ecstatic tone as you can see a large circle made of metal and other circuits with a violet glow in the center as it shakes violently until it produces a loud bang as it knocked out the cameraman.The cameraman stands up to see all the scientist pierced by what seem to be tentacles coming out of the portal and suddenly the connection breaks and all power was lost as you stumbled through the darkness with a pandemonium happening outside.

Wha-what is happening? what did i just see..this can't be happening..i..what is that monster? as you make it outside your apartment only to come back to take your survival kit in the bedroom. Composed with a MR-15 caliber rifle with 2 boxes of ammo, a machete, a multitool, first aid kit, a large backpack, non perishable food and water for 10 days, flashlight, rope, books about survival, tent, sleeping bag and a couple of anti-depressant pills. You are always paranoid about a cataclysmic event whether its nuclear war, zombies, aliens attacking and what not but now you feel accomplish and happy in a weird way. As you opened your phone only to see there are no signals and sirens of the police car drown out other noises as you walked down the apartment only to see a living breathing monster with green scales, lizard face with its tongue outside as it hisses with height as a average human while speed beyond imagination as it slashes a police officer dead as the other police tried shooting at it to almost no avail as all the people started panicking and running while you head back to your apartment to avoid the monster and stray bullets that may hit you. As you sit silently as you planned on what to do.

No worrying about it, what happen already happened, no need to be terrified and stay calm and compose...my parents should be safe with a bunker below their house, they can last there for years but i need to go there and stop them from worrying. As you stand up and started walking in circles finding what to do. You heard a knock in the door. As you froze and looked at the hole in the door to see a woman with a little girl as the both of them wounded and appears to be in great need.

"Mister..please help us please" pleaded the woman as she cries along with the frightened little girl.

As you opened the door and let them in as they circle your apartment with a amused face.

"Nice house you have there" said the woman as she wipes her tears

"Thank you so much" she added as she approaches you only to turn into a monstrosity of human flesh bundled together as it tried to absorb you by hitting you in the stomach but misses as you moved out the way.

"Fuck me" as you curse and aim your gun on the monster hitting it multiple times as blood splattered all over your apartment as it shrieked and jumped towards your window smashing it and jumping towards the street as you chased it to the window. You keep on suppressing fire on it but it was able to escape. Although heavily damaging the monster you were not successful in killing it.

"Dammit!..was the hell was that?" you calmed yourself on what happens and checked if there's any injury on yourself.

"Im not sure if im lucky or unlucky" as you ponder on your body to see no injuries but fighting the monster awakened something in your heart. The feeling of excitement that the world has gone to shit and you don't have to deal with the stress from work and the continued boring life that you live on.

"I should get out of here" as you grabbed your backpack and head downstairs. As you go to the ground floor you see countless corpses of humans including carcasses of several monsters. You gap your mouth to stop yourself from puking from the disgust of the surroundings as you tried walking in the side of the wall to avoid stepping on it.

"Shit.shit..shit" you muttered as you heard a loud noise of something crashing and screams of people as you step out into the dark ones again with cars destroyed and multiple corpses can be found including kids mauled and ripped to pieces. You heard a stream of gunshot coming from the north and growls of something not human. As you make your way back to the supermarket to see couple of humans gunning the black monster with no facial parts with only muscles in all of its body as it charges towards them. Some were able to dodge but the unlucky ones were destroyed with their bone cracked and their body muscles were splattered with its arm grab a woman as it cracked her spine as the monster squeezes its hand as the woman cried in agony in pain while some of her comrades continue suppressing fire to no avail as some of them run leaving the rest. As the fat man notices you sneaking past the battle he shouted.

"Hey!! help us here!" with a demanding voice as the monster charges towards the fat man splattering him into bits as the rest run away.

You manage to slip past the monster but it is now roaming the area to anyone who passes through.
