Chapter 63

Athy rolled her eyes at me and pouted. I sat on my seat and glanced at Uriel who looked drained.

"Was it that hard?" I can't help but ask her.

"It was more difficult than I thought." She replied and nodded towards Athy. "At least she could let rocks pass through her portal safely. I can't let anything go through."

"Your training isn't going well?" Father asked.

"I can't seem to get the hang of something passing through a door." Uriel sighed.

"You should help your sisters with their training." Father looked at me. "I heard you used a portal to travel to the training grounds earlier and scared the knights."

"I wouldn't say 'scared', but they were indeed startled." I shrugged.

"Okay, enough of that portal talks." Mother interrupted. "You girls should sleep early tonight because we will visit the city tomorrow. I don't want you to be irritable tomorrow. Okay?"

Uriel's face immediately brightened at the news. She had been looking forward to going out and shopping. Athy looked like she was thoughtfully considering whether she will practice more or sleep.

"Seb, please list down everything the castle lacks and ask the employees for their opinions too." I instructed Sebastiene who bowed in confirmation.

"Also, have a carriage prepared for us." Mother added.

"Yes, your grace." Sebastiene replied.

"Also another carriage for mother and Uriel's ladies in waiting." I looked at him and he nodded.

After dinner, I went to mother's study. Sebastiene still following behind me.

"Mother." I called outside her door.

There was rustling inside the room before the door was opened by a maid, Marie, if I remember her name right. I went in and saw mother writing something.

"Is that for the tea party?" I asked her.

"Hmmm.." She nodded and held the paper out to me. I read the tea party plan she made. I carefully studied the event plan she made.

"It's good." I gave her back the papers. "For the snacks, I think we should do a taste test f the pastry shops and cafés in the city. You might find something you like among their snacks. If you don't, then Seb can make those lemon cakes that you like."

"I know, that is also one of the agendas for tomorrow."

"You should buy new clothes, new jewelries, and shoes. The one's you have already worn should be discarded already." I looked at Sebastiene. "What do you think Seb?"

"Replying to my lady, instead of buying new ones, her grace should have ones made for her." He smiled. "Clothes, shoes and especially jewelries, it would be better to have ones custom made."

"There is only a week before the tea party, would a seamstress be able to do one that quickly?" I asked.

"For the tea party, her grace can choose one from a boutique. For the others, we can have them custom made." He replied.

"Is there a boutique you want to recommend?" I asked him.

"I'm sorry my lady, but as I am not from the city, I do not have any knowledge of the best boutiques around." He replied and looked over mothers maids. "But I'm pretty sure one of these ladies would know."

I looked over to them.

"Do you?"

The ladies looked at each other. Astrid immediately shook her head.

"I am also not from here, so I also have no idea." She answered.

"I-I also don't know since I'm from a village outside the city." Marie answered, her freckled face turning as red as her hair.

"None of my maids is from the city." Mother interrupted. "Maybe one of Uriel's is from there, or we could just stroll around until we find one."

"Okay." I agreed. "I think Uriel would also like that."

Uriel was the type to stroll around looking at different things, trying on different clothes, shoes, jewelries and food! She can roam around for a whole day without getting tired. On the opposite, Athy doesn't go out that much. Unless she needs to get something, she will mostly stay at home. She also doesn't like walking around for long periods of time since she gets easily tired.

I was still in mother's study and discussing the details of the tea party when we felt the entire castle shook.

"What was that?" Mother asked standing up from her seat.

"It felt like Athy's force soul." I said as I stood up. "I'll go check."

"Okay. "

I left mother's study and opened a portal to the outside of Athy's room.

The moment I stepped out of the portal, I could feel another presence inside the room. The precense also immediately vanished.

"Athy.." I called from outside her door. "Are you okay?"

No response.

"My lady." Sebastiene frowned. "Should I force the door open?"

"There's no need to do that." Athy's voice came from the inside as her door slowly creaked open.

Inside her room, the high orc, Gorya and one of her spirit knights, Bryle Joseph, were kneeling beaten up on the floor. Her room was thrashed and things were broken. It was like an intense fight just happened.

"Are you okay?" I asked as soon as I saw the scene inside.

"I am." She replied, nonchalant.

"What happened here?" I asked looking around. "Did the two of them fight?"

The summoned spirits looked up with an apologetic look.

"No." She sat on the broken bed. "A mutt was able to trespass into my room. These two were my guards but they were not able to notice it and even they got defeated."

"A mutt?" I looked at her confused.

Wait..

"The lycan was here?" I exclaimed.

Athy nodded and looked down at the spirits kneeling on the ground.

"Get up. It was not your fault that it was strong." She told the spirits who still remained kneeling.

She sighed.

"Who is going to guard me if you keep kneeling there?" She urged them.

With what Athy said, the two spirits immediately stood up and fused with the darkness.

"I didn't expect that mutt to be quite strong." She looked at me. "To be able to defeat two of my strongest summons."

"Did he hurt you?" I asked.

Athy shook her little head. "He did not attacked me. When he realized that he was found out, he only made a way to escape."

"I see." I relaxed.

I looked at the room once again.

"Seb, please fix the room."

"Yes, my lady." He replied and used his restoration ability again.

When everything was fixed, Athy laid down on her bed. She didn't even thank Sebastiene who merely chuckled.

"Get some rest as it will be a tiring day tomorrow." I told her.

"I know." She replied without looking at me.

I shook my head at her treatment.

I guess she still felt bad about being scolded before

"Good night." I whispered as Sebastiene and I went out the door.

"My lady, don't you ever get annoyed by lady Athanasia's attitude?" He asked curiously.

"She is my little sister." I answered him as I climbed to bed. "No matter what her attitude is, she will always be my sister. I cannot control her. The only thing I could do is to make her understand. I hope you won't take her coldness to heart."

"I don't." Seb smiled. "I know she enjoys our little banters as she never actually tried to kill me."

I chuckled at what he said. It was true. They always fight but it seemed more like a playful one.

"Goodnight Seb." I told him as he walked out the door. He bowed down before and whispered goodnight before closing it.
