Chapter 149

Here I am standing in front of six creatures with different races, all looking prim and proper like students during college exams. They were not even a bit shocked when they saw me enter. I guess Sebastiene had informed them of my age.

"I believe my butler has explained to you the reason why we are all gathered her?" I spoke and looked at Sebastiene who was standing beside me. "But I would still like to ask, do all of you want to go back to your homes?"

Everyone nodded their heads.

"Are you really letting us return home?" A black haired man asked. He has an arrogant air about him but was surprisingly polite when he asked. "You won't ask for anything in exchange?"

I looked at him and shook my head. The man who asked frowned and gave Sebastiene an 'I thought so' look.

"Not really." I answered. "But what I want is something you cannot give, unless if you are the head of your clans or tribes."

They all looked at me confusedly.

"They may not, but I can make decisions for my clan." The beautiful lady wearing a very revealing dress spoke up.

"And you are?" I asked, though I already know who she was just by looking at her.

"I am Nekiah, youngest princess of the Cubus demon clan." She replied, proudly lifting her chin up.

"Oh. The princess brought by the son of Marquis McClare?" I asked which made her wince.

"I'll get even with that asshole." She mumbled sourly before looking at me again. "What is it that you want in exchange?"

"What I want in exchange for your freedom is the right to pass your territory unharmed." I explained and they all reacted differently. Some of them stood up while others gasped in shock.

"You want to pass through our territories?" The black haired man who stood up from his seat when he heard what I wanted, asked.

"Yes." I answered forwardly. "To be exact, I would like anyone who bears the insignia of House Castellan be allowed to pass through safely."

"That.." The black haired man was about to say something but I cut him off.

"It is not like we will be using it every time." I said as I stood up and leaned on my desk. "We would only need to use it for emergencies or if in the case of a great war. Other than that, we won't bother you."

"But that's.." The black haired man slumped on his chair. "That would be hard for our clan. Anyone could copy your insignia and use it to enter our territory!"

"No one would be able to copy our insignia." I assured them. "House Castellan's Moon Brooch is not something that can be copied or stolen by others."

Sebastiene stepped forwards and showed them his Moon brooch. The moment they saw it closely, their eyes grew wide.

"A goddess's blessing?!" The blond haired elf exclaimed.

"Yes." I answered and turned to Sebastiene. "Give it to him."

Sebastiene gave his brooch to the black haired man. But after less than a minute, the brooch started to disappear and Sebastiene held out his hand where the brooch appeared again. This surprised the spectators even more.

"A Moon brooch would also return to its owner within half a minute if the owner did not give his permission to another, so stealing it would be useless." I explained to them. "Also, a Moon brooch can never be destroyed, unless its owner dies. So if someone tries to pass with a moon brooch, you can try to burn their brooch. If it gets damaged, kill."

Sebastiene gave his brooch to the minotaur.

"Try breaking it." I told the minotaur who held the brooch with two hands and tried to break it. When it did not work, he tried stomping on it. Still, the Moon brooch remained unscathed.

Sebastiene picked up his brooch, wiped it and gave it to Nekiah.

"Try burning it." He suggested to the succubus.

Nekiah summoned a fierce red flame on her palm and placed the brooch in it. Blue dust-like lights started dancing around the brooch protecting it from the flames.

"This Moon brooch is the sign of House Castellan, it cannot be stolen and it cannot be destroyed." I explained. "Do you still have other concerns?"

They glanced at each other.

"This.." Nekiah spoke hesitantly. "I can grant you in exchange for my freedom."

"It's not really something in exchange for your freedom since I never had any plans of keeping anyone here against their will." I looked at her. "It is more like your payment for returning you home, since you will be using our portals."

"Huh?" The black haired man frowned. "So even if our clan leaders disagree, we are still allowed to go back?"

"Of course." I chuckled. "You will still need to go back to inform your leaders anyway."

"Lady Castellan, you can trust that I would let my leader know of your request." The elf spoke, his tone was polite and his expression was grateful.

"I will also pass on your message to my leader, but I cannot guarantee if she would agree." The mermaid who had been quiet spoke. She had green hair and blue eyes, her voice was as soft as her features. Too bad, she had legs instead of a tail.

"Thank you. I appreciate it." I smiled at them.

The others followed and promised to convey my message to their clan heads and tribe chiefs.
