1 Daughter of Rape

Episode One.

What should I do? Why was I stupid to be controlled by this peer influence? Why indulge myself in alcohol drinking? I had managed to abstain from alcohol for seventeen years but now at seventeen and a half I decided to take a sip, a sip made a glass, a glass made a bottle and I became drunk. This drunkenness is the one that has brought me in this situation. What will I tell the world? Where will I hide my face? Why would I accept peer influence to control me? So where will I take this thing am carrying? Lucy asked herself these rhetorics silently. She couldn't believe what had just happened to her.

Lucy swallowed her saliva shedding tears and the events that led to her pregnancy floated in her mind.

It was just after she finished her Friday lecture. She went and sat alone at the university seats because she had no one to talk to and also she'd wanted to relax her tired mind due to long hours of learning. No sooner had she taken her seat than her best friends, Agnes and Samantha joined her. Agnes seemed to be more jovial.

"Lucy, today we're having a teens party in Ngara area, lemme tell you it's usually enjoyable and you'll be fanatic Lucy," Agnes told Lucy. Lucy seemingly not to be interested, she declined her offer but Samantha added on. "Lucy, remember Johnny? The handsome guy you've been crushing for, will be there and some many more guys. The party will be thrilling."

Indeed, the name Johnny changed Lucy's attitude. She indeed had a deep crush on him. Seeing the way Johnny smiles tenderly and the way he twirls his lips seductively while talking to her, her stubborness came to an end. She made up her final decision without even thinking on anything.

In the late evening, Lucy, Agnes and Samantha dressed to kill in a way that could deprive men attention with just a mere glance. Lucy had never joined them but due to her depth of crush on Johnny made her decide on this. Then the girls boarded a bus at University avenue, that dropped them to Ngara.

When they reached Ngara, Agnes called her boyfriend, Gerald, as he was the host of the party. Some moments later, Gerald came in the company of Hillary and Johnny. What a joy! Lucy hugged Johnny with an aim of luring him. She then threw a sexy look at him. Considering to the way Lucy behaved, it was clear that she was indeed craving for him.

Gerald took them to the actual place where the party was. It was pomp and lively. Agnes and Samantha were interested by the crates of alcohol, and no sooner they entered the house than they directed their mind on alcohol. Agnes and Samantha became drunk after some few moments so do everybody in the room except Lucy. They then began playing a certain game, "truth or dare" and the condition needed to play this game was that you were not supposed to be sober minded while playing it. So Lucy was scrapped off the game.

It was desperate for Lucy to be alone. Since she was lonely and she wanted to get near Johnny, she decided to take just a sip of alcohol and pretend to everyone that she's drunk. She took the first sip. Second sip. Third sip. The thing was incredibly sweet. So she took other sips. Sips made glasses. Glasses made bottles. She was extremely drunk.

Lucy was high. She felt like the entire world revolved around her. Agnes, Samantha and her danced in the club until late hours, and then they decided to go to their school hostels.

As they were walking through the dark chambers close to their hostels, shouting on top of their voices, some shadowy guys came from the dark and the three girls were actually caught by the men. Lucy felt a certain hard grip on her breasts, and the man with a putrid like smell from his wide and big lip mouth tried to force her a kiss. Lucy never knew what was happening as she was heavily drunk. Agnes and Samantha, realised what was happening and tried to help themselves. They managed to escape from these walls, and Lucy was left in the hands of these three vagabonds. Lucy came to learn the reality when she realised that she was down and all the three men had made up their decision to rape her.

Where will I take this being that I have no idea of his father? Trauma tormented Lucy, and it grew to it's fatal stage at the extent of wanting to abort the creature now that it had made her drop out of school. Her mother, Grace, understood the situation of her daughter and she often encouraged her to maintain the pregnancy till it's maturity.

Lucy was worried as she had squirmed her family, she even believed her mother had lost all her trust in her.

Lucy managed to maintain her pregnancy and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and named her Elsie. Following the trauma she had, Grace found Lucy laying unconscious with young Elsie on the other side wailing pitifully. This incident left Grace shocked but she had nothing she could do, because that's was Lucy's fate. Desperation and trauma had led to her immature death.

Episode Two.

"We don't want idiots in our group, this group is for rich guys only," Barbra said on top of her voice, referring to poor Elsie, who had just joined her new highschool. Elsie never knew the reason behind Barbra hating her, but all she knew was that Barbra was even willing to kill her just from the way she loathes her.

More often, Elsie was complaining to her grandmother, Grace because of the beastly behaviour her colleagues show her in school, especially the way they discriminated her because of her lower social status. Most of the people like Barbra came from a very rich family, so they just hated her because she was simply poor and nothing else. But everyday Elsie was lamenting, Grace used to comfort and hearten her, advising her not to be a failure like her mother who chose to take away her life living a young helpless being in the hands of her grandmother. Her words paced her ego, and the fact that she was discriminated, too, it reached a time when it added her pace, she often said that, "She doesn't want her daughter to experience same type of life, but she wants her daughter to live a lavish life, with a responsible father and a caring mother. She took Grace as her role model, and condemned her mother. She never wanted to be irresponsible like her mother who never cared about innocent her.

After the death of Lucy, grief tormented her entire family. All the blames were on Grace as she was considered irresponsible on her daughter's life. Being a single mother, Grace was driven away from her craddle land. They threatened to take young Elsie by force as they believed Grace had no ability to take care of her. Grace was adamant, so she sued her entire family because she believed that she was the one who could take care of her granddaughter well and no one else. Lucky enough, she managed to win the case and all rights on Elsie was given to her.

This caused conflicts between her and her family as they took everything she had, that belonged to his husband, who was the son in the family where she'd been married. She was then excommunicated with young Elsie, not knowing where to go with her.

Grace chose to go and live in popular slums of Nairobi with this young girl. She worked very hard to ensure that she had taken care of her, and provided her anything she needed.

Elsie was a bright girl. Although she experienced some difficulties in her education, her bright mind made her be loved by her teachers as well as her colleagues. Due to her bright mindedness, she managed to pass her primary education very well and she was called in a prominent international high school.

It was on an admission date where new students were expected to be admitted in school. That day, Barbra woke up in ego, and her normal bevy of six girls, Becky, Stella, Myra, Mercy, Suzie and Nina, who were considered "Boyhunters" due to their behaviour in seducing their male classmates using their curvy features.

"Hey guys, am really glad today because there is a boy who's joining us today, he's been learning in New Orleans but now he's come to Kenya so he'll be joining us. He is known as Travis, and for sure, no one should go to him because he's mine, we share the same estate," Barbra said to her friends proudly. Becky seconded her because the entire bevy were from extremely rich families.

Myra was a daughter of minister of water. Barbra's father was a renown international businessman. Stella was a daughter of a governor. Suzie was a daughter of a prominent writer in the country. Nina came from a family owning a certain company that supplies sugar in the entire region and Mercy's father was a governor.

These girls would do what they wished to do anywhere, because no teacher would dare to say a word to them. Their background made then rude, and sometimes they could even control what their teachers would do, how the entire school.

Travis was admitted in this school and was brought in the same class where these girls learnt from. Barbra was much delighted as the two knew each other, so she took the advantage of it. Barbra introduced Travis to the entire class and he was warmly welcomed by his colleagues, and their class governor, Miss Patel, a girl with an Indian nature, officially welcomed him to her class.

She assigned him a locker, next to Elsie's seating position. This angered Barbra and so she decided to go and relocate his seating position from Elsie's place to her place. Travis, being new and the person he knew well was Barbra, accepted to relocate his seating position. Barbra then whispered to Elsie, telling her that Travis is not his type.

Elsie was stressed. She asked herself many questions. It really hurt her when Barbra told her this as her friends jeered at her. But Patel always stood on her side, whenever these girls mocked her and hearten her to focus on her dreams as the past is dead. On the other side, Travis also noticed this, but he assumed since it was his first day at that particular school.

Elsie often complained to her teachers on how these girls mistreated her because of her lower financial class but they gave it a cold ear since fighting with the girls was like risking their jobs. For instance, Mercy would even spit at her, simply because her father is the area's governor and Elsie could do nothing. Patel often tried to talk to these girls esspecially Myra who seemed to be easily convinced, telling her that the actions they were doing weren't good at all, since they were dehumanising their fellow sister and lowering her confidence in learning.
