I promise ya, the later chaps would be worth reading and investing your time on Chapter Update Release: Yeah bruh... I don't have any stable update time so meh. This is also my first fan-fic so please go easy on me hehe (≧▽≦) [Edit: 5/19/22- The beginning two arcs is totally rough. As in, yeah. The story was still in its testing point back then, so it is inevitable... But right now, I think it's worth reading starting at the third arc, the MC is still not the best but is now clearly showing some development. ;)]

The scorching heat of the sun was closely reaching its peak within a matter of minutes. The winds though could be described as 'turbulent' as it grazed Rei's cheek occasionally from time to time, not that he minds it in the first place.

"Hm? Heeeh...." Rei muttered in amusement.

Amused by the fact that he already arrived near the place where 'that' would take place.

It took him a few minutes to get here by foot.

He even wondered whether he was slate or not.

If he used his [Gate], then it would take him here into a matter of seconds yet he didn't as he wanted to appreciate the scenery of the places that he will walk through.

Rei already memorized the rough outline of the ways or paths within the city. Of course, he didn't really tried to remember everything but only the places or passage ways that would be significant at the present and for the future.

The blooming Sakura trees that he had passed by.

The silent road devoid of any sounds of vehicles roaming by.

The desolate place with no people present ahead.

That is what Rei saw in his short walk up to this place.

As soon as the space quake alarm resounded, the city almost became a ghost place. It was eerily quiet if you were to ask a normal person.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

His footsteps echoed somewhat loudly as he walked towards his designated place. That just shows how quiet the place is.

But the thought of silence in Rei's mind soon disappeared in a matter of seconds as he began to hear noises.

Rumbles were soon heard.

The sounds of buildings crumbling down.

Explosions as well in fact.

A few meters later, signs of destruction began to resurface on his eyes.

It was as if a meteorite had crash landed.

No, if anything, it was as if everything on the ground had completely vanished.

The street in front had been scraped off in the shape of a shallow bowl.

And, in the corner of the street that had become like a crater.

There was something like a clump of metal that rose.

"It seems that I'm not late, I guess?" Rei muttered as he brushed his hair slightly to remove away some dust on his head.

Well, because of the dust and the distance, he was not able to discern the small details at first but—he saw a form that was something like a throne that a king would sit on.

However, that was not what was important.

There was a girl wearing a strange dress, who seemed to be standing on the throne with her foot on the armrest.

"Wow.... Now that I've seen her personally, I can't help but think that her illustrations and appearance in the anime lacks this kind of appeal huh"

Rei then shook his hand and cleared the dust and obstacles that he saw that would obstruct his vision. It was then, her true appearance was elegantly conveyed as the slight breeze brushed through her.

Rei could clearly see her long purplish-dark hair sway in the air. Her clothes, or rather armor was adorned of metals that could be said as 'majestic' and 'beautiful' as some parts of it radiated in a mysterious glow.

The girl casually scanned the area, suddenly turning to face towards Rei's carefree appearance.

"Un...?"

She noticed Rei... Probably. It was too far away so he couldn't really tell. Well, that is the case if the person in question was a human in the first place.

It was then, Rei noticed several presences enter within his scope of perception.

As Rei was thinking over this, the girl made a further movement.

With a swaying motion, she seemed to have grabbed a handle that was growing out of the back of the throne, and was slowly pulling it out.

It was—with a broad blade, a huge sword.

Giving off an illusory shine like that of a rainbow, or of a star, it was a curious blade.

The girl shook the sword, and the trail it left traced a faint path of light.

And then—

"Hoh?" Rei uttered with a slight surprise as he knew what the girl would do next.

The girl then faced Rei, and with a boom, swung the sword hard horizontally.

He then casually brushed it off as <Raguel> appeared on his hand. The illusionary wave—or rather, her "attack" was then cleaved in half as it came in contact with Rei's sword.

The blade's severed trails passed through the place on both Rei's sides making it look like a "V" shaped trail of destruction.

The houses, stores, roadside trees, signs and so on that were behind and besides Rei had, in an instant, been trimmed to the same height as those of a crouching person.

A second later, the sound of destruction echoed like distant thunder.

Rei just looked at the girl with a bright smile on his face. In his hand was a purple-blade sword which also emanates the same properties of what the girl broadsword has.

The girl in question quizzically tilted her head wondering what just happened—but immediately brushed the thought as she strengthened her guard and vigilance towards the mysterious individual that cleaved her slash in half.

"—You too... are you one of them as well?"

"Hm? What do you mean?" Rei replied with a slight chuckle. On his face, a genuine smile was shown.

His actions made the girl furrow her brows as she wondered what is the purpose of this man coming here. And so, she spoke once more.

"...those people who were after my life," The girl said with a tone filled with pure hostility.

"... Hm? Is that what you think?"

"If not, then what are you doing here?"

An extremely tired voice rang out from above his head.

Rei could somehow sympathize with her as he also experienced it almost all the time in this short span of a month when he reincarnated in this world as a [Spirit].

In front of his eyes stood a girl who looked at him with vigilance brimming in her aura.

Though albeit not clearly, Rei could somehow see some resemblance of him in the past as he looked at the girl. Not that it was anything significant in the first place because it is all in the past.

'Now what was it again? Taking the role of a protagonist in this situation wasn't good as I expected....' Rei thought as his smile turned those of a wry one.

'If she were to consider me into an enemy...which I don't want to happen in the first place, then....'

These kinds of thoughts began to swirl within Rei's mind within a matter of seconds. Just as he was about to arrive into his conclusion.

"Is that so.... what a shame"

Unintentionally, his voice leaked out some of his thoughts.

"Nu...?"

She was around Rei's age, or maybe slightly younger.

Within her knee-length purplish-dark hair was a face that possessed both beauty and dignity.

In its center, a pair of eyes that emitted a mysterious shine, almost like crystals that reflect a variety of colors of light in every direction, was enshrined.

Her outfit was very peculiar as well just like what he had in his Spirit form.

If Rei's was that of a form of a [Six Winged Angel], hers was shaped like a [Princess's Dress], it was made with a material which one couldn't tell whether it was a cloth or a metal. Additionally, its seams, inner parts, skirt, and such, were composed of a mysterious film of light that didn't even seem to be physical matter.

And in those hands, she was holding the huge sword that was around her own height.

As he continued to observe the girl, he couldn't help but think that his life had been filled with strange things all over.

It was as if he was just realizing that this wasn't a dream after all. His encounter with that God, him dying and being reincarnated, him being a [Spirit], and his... very existence himself that could be classified as [unique] or [anomalous] in a sense.

It was kind of stupid and naive. Unbelievably so in some sense.

All this time, he thought this life had been a joke that he would scoff or laugh at when it ends.

All this time, he thought that someone would slam a bucket of water on his head to wake him up from this silly delusions.

All this time, he thought that this would be a dream that would just end with a sudden urge to wake up to reality.

However.

Yes, however.

These realizations would be something that he should ponder about later.

The abnormality of the situation.

The strangeness of her appearance.

The uniqueness of her existence.

Even though Rei himself knows that he also fits these descriptions, it still felt strange encountering another "existence" that was almost similar to him.

It wasn't just being a [Spirit]. Even if she isn't, Rei was sure he could recognize her as something similar to his "existence" if some conditions were met.

"——"

In that instant.

A warm breeze brushed over the area which made both their hairs flutter slowly in the wind.

The girl in front of him, somehow made his heart skip a beat.

This was utterly ridiculous, he thought.

Even so, he couldn't help it.

The girl in front of him after all was just so intensely... Beautiful.

"Hey"

Dazed, Rei then spoke to her with a clear voice.

The girl slowly shifted her sight and gazed straight towards his eyes. As their eyes met each other, a rather purplish glow emerged from their eyes.

"....would you mind telling me your name?"

His voice, carrying the question from the bottom of his heart, shook the air.

However.

"—I have no such thing."

With a sad look, the Nameless Girl replied.
