13 Escaping Captivity

"Let go of her!" I yell while hastily propelling myself towards him with my wings. Oliver drops the knife to guard himself while I swing towards him with my claw. He jumps away from Julian, holding his wound.

I unchain Julian as Oliver rapidly healed. "How could I be afraid of you? I had forgotten just how strong I've become." Oliver says while shaking.

His mechanical arm transforms into a long, blackened blade. Extremely sharp, he rushes at me, trying to cut me. I duck, and it slices right through the wall behind me.

(I didn't want to use my demonic abilities in case they'd turn against me, but it seems like I have to.) I think to myself while blades come out from my elbows.

Oliver swings towards my side with his blades. I block them while kicking his side, sending him against the wall.

The Oliver's arm turns into a gun as he shoots repeatedly towards me, bullet holes riddle my body. Julian screams in pain behind me as she gets hit by the gunshot.

I grow infuriated (Why thank you for getting this pissed.) "Kehehehehe finally I'll kill you, Oliver, was it? Once you're gone, I'll finally be free." Lucifer says aloud through my body.

(Where am I? It's so dark.) I sit in a large empty void. Cold hard blackened ground below me. As a large screen appears in front of me, showing what's happening outside. My body is fighting Oliver, yet I'm not in control of it.

"Ah, so you're the one who attacked the guild master that explains it." Oliver says aloud.

"Yes, sadly, I didn't get to eat her because the stupid host of the body and the angel forced me back into the depths." Lucifer replies while relentlessly attacking Oliver, biting off his ear as he swings his blades.

Oliver gets his head banged into the wall and falls unconscious. Whilst still in the depths of my mind watching this unfold, I try to find a way out. A bright light from above appears as an angel falls down. "Do you want some help? I'll gladly give your body back by pulling him back into here." A beautiful blonde woman with large wings sway towards me. "Y-Yes, I do, but who are you?" I ask

"That doesn't matter right now, but my name is Serephena." She says while flying off. I blink, and I'm back in my body, so fatigued I fall to the ground. "Well, at least he's knocked out so the police can take him, and Julian is safe." I say aloud.

"Nux... please help me." Julian mumbles, and I crawl over to her.

"Heal." I say, her wounds healing and the bullets forced out of her body as she passes out. I pull out her phone, about to call the police, as the wall behind Oliver crumbles down.

A skeletal bear enters with someone wearing a cloak on its back. "Well, hello there, my name's asgold. I've been watching your fight since the start. Now, seeing how strong this man is, I want him for myself." He says while throwing Oliver on the back of the bear.

"Fire ball." A small poof of smoke comes from my palm.

Asgold laughs, "You think such a puny attack could harm me just stay laying there and die already." He says, while leaving with Oliver as I pass out because of exhaustion.

Waking up in an unfamiliar room, Julian's head lying on me while she sits in a chair. I sit up. "ahh your finally up don't scare me like that." Julian says while I look around confused

"You're in the hospital you passed out yesterday. You shouldn't have done what Oliver demanded, but thank you for saving me. The Willace the guilds second in command is returning today. He knows a lot of events from over the phone but would like to hear some things from you directly," Julian says.

Staying in the hospital getting rest and replenishing my mana pool. I see Piro and Willace, a tall dark elf, walk through the door.

"I've got some questions for you. Please answer honestly. Back in the dungeon when Oliver attacked you. Did anything weird happen? Also, when you fought him in the warehouse, how did he escape? Julian said the last thing she saw was you in a demonic form, and Oliver knocked out." Willace asks.

I explain to him about the dungeon and blood entering Oliver. Also, the warehouse necromancer named Asgold had taken Oliver. The group looks speechless as Willace sighs.

"Asgold is an S-rank necromancer. He's a mercenary hunter, so he isn't affiliated with any guilds. I already let Julian know you are all promoted to an A-rank team. however, you're not allowed to enter dungeons right now and will require constant watch as you're too dangerous." Willace explains.

(Hey, I can take over half of you to prevent the demon interfering.) Serephena says to me.

"I know the demon side is dangerous, but I can talk to them, and the angel says she'll take over part of my mind to prevent the demon from coming out." I explain to Willace

"Alright, I won't have as much surveillance on you. However, you still can't go into dungeons yet. During the guild meeting the other day, Julian and the people present have decided to get a necklace made to withstand demonic energy. That's what Glórn was out shopping for until that's made. I forbid you from entering dungeons." Willace says while looking at the group.

"I almost forgot to mention this, but your group will be responsible for capturing or killing Oliver if it's needed. After we get your necklace, Nux. Well, keep an eye out for Asgold to find him. That's all I have to say stay safe, you guys," He says while leaving.

I'm soon let out I and Julian head home Piro saying he'll visit the following day. I get some rest at then wake.

"Nux were heading out to the guild. There's a funeral being held for the twelve members who passed away. Piro will be there shortly. Let's go," Julian says as we take our leave for the guild.

We enter the guild, seeing a list of the hunters that tragically had their lives taken. Lots of members stare at me in anger. "Nux, maybe it's best for you to wait out in the car for now." Julian says as I go sit in the car.
