#CHAPTER 7

It wasn't the first time I walked behind this annoying guy, his every step was like giving a beautiful dance to the few people around the two of us. This man is very famous because he is a CEO who is very feared in various countries isn't it surprising. Being able to set foot out of the house didn't feel so good let alone having to be with him, I don't think it was one of today's lucky breaks. My eyes were still on the street full of people, and I caught a figure that was so familiar if my guess was correct that man was 'James' my mind muttered his name until I unknowingly bumped into Reynand's stout body from behind.

"If you're walking keep your eyes forward!"

"And you shouldn't have stopped so suddenly"

"Just listen to my commands, don't argue"

Reynand took my hand and pulled me into a diamond shop, I could only listen silently as he talked to one of the shopkeepers to meet someone. No, no, no! I shouldn't be here with him, not with the man I love. If I want to run away I should do it now because this is the only good chance to get out of this man's arms, he really wants to make a mess of my future. I was a little worried, it seemed like I had to quickly make a choice to run or stay in this shop. I remained calm and avoided his suspicion, not yet two steps away Reynand had managed to pull my hand and make me trapped in his arms. 'Damn it!' I said to myself, as if Reynand knew I wanted to get away from him, I felt like a fool now.

"Don't try to run away from me Aletta... remember your father is still in the hospital"

"Let go of your embrace Reynand! I won't run away"

"If you promise me I won't mess with you, unless you want me to embarrass you in front of everyone."

"Just do it... and it will ruin your reputation as an honorable person"

"I like your taunts miss... they'll be happy to see this"

"Let go of me how dare you kiss me!"

"Look! Who's mesmerized by our lovemaking, want to challenge me again?"

"You're embarrassing me Reynand Alexi!!!"

"And I'm happy to make you like this, I'll do something even more shocking"

"You're insane!!!"

I couldn't help but feel embarrassed in front of a man who covered his mouth with both hands after seeing what Reynand did in his shop, I can guess they've known each other for a long time.

From the way he was looking at me Reynand must have asked him for something, I chose to keep quiet and turned my eyes to some beautiful diamonds displayed in the showcase. Reynand approached me beckoning me to look at the diamond he had ordered as a 'wedding gift' he whispered softly, I was sick of hearing his sweet words as if I wanted to be the woman he loved the most and all of them who would attend our wedding would be part of the game of a famous CEO.

Wearing a mask in front of people and turning into someone else is not my forte, I'm not used to it. My mind spoke and I fantasized about James doing this sweet surprise, unfortunately the person who wrapped his arms around me was Reynand not James.

"Take it... I love seeing your body full of glittering things"

"Just stick a hologram sticker on my body! It's easy!"

"You are very funny Aletta, I like your idea... now take everything you like"

"I don't want diamonds I want to go home! Take me home now!"

"Don't beautiful women like you like this glittering thing? I don't think this ring is enough"

"Take me home, NOW!"

"Calm down dear... don't put on such a serious face, you have nothing to lose by having a wealthy husband like me"

"We don't love each other and there's no reason to marry you!"

"Love doesn't need a reason Aletta, I'll make you take back what you said"

"I will not take back my words, sir..."

He could fool any girl with his abundant possessions but not me, I had absolutely no interest in what he had except for the paper containing our marriage contract. It looks like I'll have to devise another plan and quickly seek information regarding where about of the contract.

Reynand picked up some things and took me back to the car. Now that my eyes are more vigilant with him, I don't want him to behave like he did earlier and in front of many people. This car was speeding away taking me in the opposite direction and I was sure this wasn't the way home, I started to get nervous because I didn't know where else he was going to take me. My head was full of impossible hopes because my only hope was James. Reynand rubbed my cheek gently without saying a word and I could only turn my face away from him to stare at the streets filled with people. It's useless for him to be gentle if he's going to make a mess of my life in the end. If I remember the contents of the contract, my heart hurts, how could someone like Reynand take advantage of my downtrodden life.

He stopped the car at a five-star hotel, I guess because of its exquisite decor. As Reynand led me inside, I grew nervous at the thought of what he would do to me next. We walked into a large room with gold ornaments. I noticed every detail of this room, Reynand left me alone without saying goodbye or telling me where he was going. I felt like a doll being carried around by its owner. I was standing on the balcony of the room looking at the beautiful sky trying to cheer up my heart, someone opened the door of the room and surprised me. See now that the man is back to bring me such a big bucket of roses.

I think all this was one of the tricks he used to perfect the poison he gave me. After those diamonds and these roses what else would Reynand do?. A man like Reynand will never run out of tricks to get what he wants, including my life. He was getting closer trying to melt my heart with a smile on his face, I didn't want to waste the remaining energy I had and just looked at him who was now right in front of me. 'Happy birthday Aletta' he give me a sweet kiss on my forehead. Yes, he managed to make me very surprised by what he just said. My body was stiff and motionless, still looking at her because I myself had forgotten that today was such a special day and how could I forget it?

"How do you know if today is..."

"Your birthday? That's easy for me"

"Who are you exactly?"

"I know you hate me Aletta, but enjoy this day. I won't mess with you so don't piss me off..."

"I should have said that to you Reynand"

"I've got something for you, come with me"

"If you will keep your hands away from my face, I will honor your request"

"Okay..."

I tried to regain my consciousness completely after Reynand managed to make me freeze. I followed him to a large door guarded by two servants, Reynand closed my eyes but I refused and he still wouldn't remove his hand until I did everything he asked,I walked through the door until we stopped after a few steps. I didn't know whether to thank her or keep a straight face but what was in front of me was really beautiful.

It was such a romantic atmosphere to have dinner together surrounded by lights and flowers surrounding the dining table. I guess this is more than enough to melt a woman's heart, but I still couldn't believe what Reynand had done to me even though he tried to look like a normal guy who gives sweet surprises to his partner. 'Impressive' I said to him, he just smiled and pulled out a chair allowing me to sit across from him. Reynand took my hand and placed the ring on my ring finger kissing it affectionately, he was smart enough to treat me as a woman.

I was carried away by the atmosphere but I tried to stay aware that all of this was just a moment not forever, maybe it was not the time to remind him what he would do after we got married later but I didn't want to ruin a beautiful night without my father by my side.
