Follow James on a adventure as he discovers secrets, plots, and magic abilities like no other. As the once most talentless person becomes someone both fear and revered. A/N: the cover is not mine. If you are the owner of said cover and would like me to remove it, please let me know. Sorry if chapters might be dropped at a staggered rate, I am working a full time job.

Familiar?

James stood there in utter disbelief. It was only the words of his brother that got a reaction from him. "James! We have to get out of here!"

The two ran and kept running even after they left the village. "We should be far enough away from the village, so we can stop running James." They were both out of breath from the continuous running. But even then, Drake could tell something was wrong with James. He stood there wide eyed as if he was in utter disbelief, and he was. So too was Drake, but there was something else gnawing at James.

Drake allowed James to regather himself, and with due time he did.

"What are we going to do now," James asked his brother. They had made it as far as the outskirts of the village and were now walking towards the woods. "We have no choice but to head to the capital. And what are we going to do for a living there? Well first we should try to inform the capital of that beast. After that we should join the army. The army?" James asked his brother. "Yes, the army. It's the only place where you don't need skills to join. They make sure you develop the necessary skills to fit at least one role in the army."

James felt like their options of employment was not very vast because of his lack of skills in about everything he did. "What do you think was that creature we saw?"

As Drake asked James the question, his mind ran back to what he saw in the village. There was a reason he was in such shock and disbelief as he looked upon the creature. It looked familiar to him for some reason. That's when it hit him, it was possible that the creature was no creature at all; at least James believed it wasn't. He believed in fact, that it was one of the villagers. It would've been someone James was somewhat close to, someone he met three years ago.

Drake realized James was lost deep in thought and was beginning to get slightly nervous. After what felt like an eternity of silence, James finally spoke. "I don't think that was really a beast or a creature or whatever. What the hell do you mean, how would you know that", Drake questioned James. "Did you notice the red scarf around that thing's neck Drake? I've seen that scarf before. That thing even looked familiar to me. Then I remembered, doesn't Jack have a nephew? Didn't he always have a red scarf?"
