5 History With Andre.

Adrian and his two companions walked to the bonfire and lit it. Now that he had a chance to level up his stats he was going to use these souls on dexterity. It allowed him to be much more nimble and flexible than his giant frame would suggest.

That reminded him that he had not taken off this armor since he got here and he was kind of wanting to take a bath as he was sweaty. Too bad there was no good place to do that as who knew what kind of beast would jump up and bite him by the crotch.

'Time to level and find a good place to bathe.'

'So I got enough souls just now for 11 upgrades without using any of my soul items. How many do I have?'

He checked his inventory and found he had quite a few so he used them all up and got an extra 6,000 souls for his troubles.

'Ok, scratch that, 13 upgrades. 8 Upgrades to dexterity, and 5 for Vitality

Once he confirmed it he felt the fulfilling feeling of his Lord soul-devouring souls to level up. He felt his muscle fibers become much more flexible and his body feel refreshed. His organs felt kind of stronger too if ever slightly.

"Amazing, that can get addicting."

Solaire had to agree.

"It is true. The feeling of growing in power after a long time of battle is the jolliest of feelings."

Seraphine who had just started her journey already liked the feeling of it. She leveled up with the souls she had and it was not much. She needed a lot more souls than just this if she wanted to match up to the chosen undead from the game.

Adrian pulled the lever to open the gate and instead of going forward, he sat down for a small bit. He wanted to see if they knew any stuff about his order as even he did not know much.

"Well, when I tamed that Drake a fragment of my memories from ages past came back to me."

Seraphine sat down as she was interested.

"What was it about?"

"Well, it was me overlooking my knights as they had subdued a relatively pure-blooded dragon. Of course Anor Londo, my home was famous for its hatred of dragon kind. My order was something of a pariah as it went against the very culture of Anor Londo."

Solaire brought up an interesting point that did not seem too unfeasible.

"Were you betrayed?"

Adrain did not have that impression and could not think of anything.

"I don't know. I feel I have to find her and my knights. If any of them are alive."

He stood up and started to walk toward the exit. He wanted to find out more about his order as in this world he really was the captain. He focused on his connection to the Drake to give it an order.

'Do not eat the humans in the Berg. Leave them be. Try to protect them when you can.'

He felt the annoyance from the creature, but it obeyed. It still was flying around the area as it was looking for things to eat. Which ended up being any hollows it could get its teeth on. All the while Adrian looked at the hollows and armored boar in front of him.

"Well, I guess we got lunch."

Solaire noticed the boar and nodded.

"Get rid of the metal around it and they are quite tasty. Plus melting the metal down gives a good titanite amount. Undead or not, a good meal warms the soul."

Adrian loved pork and he wondered how it would taste. He charged toward it and ended up being faster than usual. With his increased dexterity, he could go faster than he was used to. The benefit of leveling, but he wanted them all at max level.

The giant boar squealed in fright as it might be a monster, but there was only so much it could deal with. He drew his longsword and decapitated the giant pig easily while he saw Solaire's miracles.

A lightning spear hit one of the archers on top and it killed the ones next to it by electrocution. As for Seraphine, she slashed the hollows charging at her with her longsword as she needed as many souls as possible.

Now that it was dead he stored the pig in his inventory and looked to the tower with the Black Knight.

"I found a Black Knight. I can feel their presence from miles away."

Solaire looked at the tower he was gazing at and was interested.

"Do you think it will recognize you?"

Adrain shook his head.

"No, the black knights are dead. They are merely a shell of their former selves. Still, let's go see it. They might drop some of their gear for you Seraphine."

He walked up the tower until he walked behind the Black Knight that charged at him with pure killing rage. Not even a second of hesitation was seen so he did what he had to. He kicked it in the chest forcing it back before he stabbed it with his longsword in the face.

Like the game it died and turned to mist as the Black Knights were not even alive. It did however leave behind his shield and sword which were amazing. He picked up the Black Knight greatsword as he gazed at it in his hand.

"Hey Seraphine, try this."

He handed it over to her and she rested it on her shoulder, but that was as good as she could manage. She also looked close to tripping as well with how off-balance she was.

"Damn, this thing weighs a ton. How lucky it must be to wield it by default."

He chuckled as he looked at the shield in his hands. He has his own as his greatsword worked as one with how big it was.

"Well, it was made for a Black Knight and not a human undead. Don't worry about it, you will manage it one day. Solaire, you want this shield?"

He shook his head as he pointed to his own.

"No, I am good with the one I have."

'System, can I sell items for souls?'

<Yes.>

'Ok, what is the price of Twinkling Titanite? Can I buy Slabs?>

<12,000 per Twinkling Titanite. 50,000 for Slabs. No max limit.>

'Ok that is godly, but I don't got the souls for it.'

He shook his head as they kept going toward Andre while slaughtering the knights. He would take their armors, shields, and weapons as he might be able to ask Andre to extract the titanate from them.

Well, Adrian followed Solaire and Seraphine from behind as they wanted to pitch in more. Seraphine has not gotten rid of the sword and was forcing herself to use it and would crush the knights in a single swing.

Solaire acted like her frontline as she could not really dodge anymore. Adrain felt she should upgrade her stats first as even in-game it needed a lot for stats.

"Seraphine, that sword was made to kill demons while requiring a lot of strength and dexterity to wield. You can use the Zwerihander as an alternative to that one for now."

She looked at the new sword and liked it a lot. She wanted to use it, but she knew it was a pipe dream to use it. She stored it in her inventory and took off the smaller greatsword which was more manageable.

Still a very large weapon, but better. Adrian had only one Twinkling Titanite for his Greatsword and had enough normal Titanite to upgrade his longsword to plus 5. As for his armor, he did not know what it would take to upgrade it, but he would find out.

"Do you hear that?"

Solaire listened in and could hear the echoes of Andrew smithing.

"Yeah, that is a smith. Let's go talk to them, upgrade time."

They walked toward Andre and first they lit the bonfire and rested at it. At the same time, Adrian used 5 humanity to increase his luck as dark souls 1 did not have a luck counter. They went down and saw Andre hammering away at a sword-like usual.

At that moment Andrew stopped smithing and looked at Adrain like he was a ghost. He dropped his hammer as he pointed at Adrian in shock.

"Sweet nanas nethers. Adrian?"

Adrian got another memory from his lord's soul and fell to one knee as he held his head as more memories entered his mind. In this memory, he watched as Andre was smithing away at a giant blade that he recognized as his Ultra Greatsword.

Andre as he hammered away at the giant slab of metal. From the look of it, he was hammering in Twinkingling Titanite. Dragon Scales and a pool of dragon blood for quenching. All the while many Fume Knights looked on at the largest sword of their order in reverence.

No one had lifted it since their captain and they respected him for it. The forge was in the heart of Anor Londo where a giant Stone Dragon, the same one the knights captured in his memory breathed in powerful burning hot flames to feed. Many chains and pullies moved the sword back into the forge for heating and out to hammer.

Adrian watched on without a word, but he felt a tap on his shoulder. August his second in command was not sure as he looked at the forging going on.

"Sir, are you sure you can entrust this to a human blacksmith. You could have the giant do it. They forged out equipment and I feel they would be better for this delicate job. It is a relic and irreparable."

Adrian patted him on the shoulder.

"Have faith in him August. He will succeed"

Finally, the sword came out and Andre continued the hard work of forging the giant blade with a look of pure reverence. He was entrusted with such an ancient artifact as this sword was found inside the body of the strongest Ancient Dragon in the first war.

Only a master blacksmith could even have the qualifications to work on such a treasure and it was on his hands. Finally, the final strike landed and the giant sword absorbed the scales and titanite offered to it.

The burning sword was lowered in the blood which entered the blade slowly. When the blood was devoured the blade gave off a red glow that made everyone look away from it except for Adrian and Andre. The blacksmith gazed on and looked at Adrian.

"She is complete."

The memory ended and Adrian found himself back in the forge as he looked at Andre.

"Andre of Astora, the blacksmith I entrusted to my sword."

Andre walked in front of Adrian and instead of asking about him, he asked what only a blacksmith would care about.

"Is she with ye. Show me."

Adrian drew the giant sword and held it in front of him.

"Seen better days, been many a year since your lot died. Shame, I liked you all."

Adrian felt a feeling of sorrow and rage in his Lord soul and it was not something he liked. He only made the Fume Knights up, but he was beginning to care about them. He felt responsible and it was not something he enjoyed.

Andre walked toward the giant sword and ran his hand down the edge and the flat side of it.

"Seen better days, me work has faded. Not acceptable. The other one, hurry boy."

Adrian thinks he might be older than Andre and he even says it.

"Boy? I think I am older than you Andre."

"Bah, not old enough. Show me brat."

Adrian gave the longsword over and Andre looked at it like it was some kind of treasure which it was.

"Aye, need forging. Lot of forging. Me think I can rekindle the power within with Twinkling titanite, Lot's of it."

Adrian held out a tiny shard as it was all he had.

"Will this work?"

Andre took the shard the size of a few inches and at the giant sword.

"Me can revive some might in her. Will need much, much more. Along with that forge. There we can see her live to her glory again."

For now, he had used the shard to reawaken a remnant of the former power of the sword. It would need a lot of them. Once that was done he looked at Solair and Seraphine's gear and started to look them over.

"Any requests."

Solaire and Seraphine both nodded and handed over their gear and shards as and paid in souls. Solaire had many saved up, but Seraphie had to use up some of her soul items. Once that was done Adrian brought out the leather of the Taurus demon.

"Can you work on this leather?"

Andre shook his head.

"No, I be a weaponsmith, not an armorsmith. The giant can do it, and work on ye's armor. Need a lot of work too."

Adrian now had many questions as for his order and yet Andre shook his head. He did not know as he had only heard of their death of the entire order a few centuries ago. Now that he had some information he had to make it to Anor Londo.

After saying goodbye to Andre, Adrian stormed off in a daze. He had to get to Sif, and he hoped the wolf remembered him. He needed the rest of his memories as now he wanted to know his own backstory.
