Demon King of War's Last Stand.

When Adrian rose to the 2nd floor he did not know what to expect. The first floor looked like an open field with no plants or signs of life, but the second seemed like a giant battlefield. In the distance, he saw a giant army of the stereotypical demons from Anime.

They were mostly humanoid with wings, horns, and tails, but some looked like humanoid animals. The army was visibly larger than the Zombie Army and far stronger. The amount of Satan-class creatures could not be compared to the meager amount the Zombies had.

Adrian did not feel just one Super Class creature either. There were at least 6, but even they could not compare to the monster at the head of them all. The Demon King did not feel like he was in the Super Class. He was a class above that which made him pause.

Adrian felt his very being quake, but while fear was part of it that was not all. It was a feeling he remembered well in the depths of his soul. The first time he deployed in the Gulf War and the terror he felt. The fear was overshadowed by the excitement he felt facing it. The Demon King was not sitting on a grand throne, or wearing extravagant robes, he also did not wear a crown.

A simple red armor covered his body while he looked at the blood-red sky. He did not seem to mind Amara despite her being more than a threat to him. He kept looking at the sky and spoke to Adrian.

"So you are the one who is challenging this accursed tower. I know what the end goal is of this tower. Kill every single being in this tower to claim their souls and bodies. I watched what you did to the Zombie King."

Adrian crossed his arms as he stepped on Amara's head to be risen up. Her Dragon Heart began to beat as the Demon King felt like he was on that scale of threat. Even a Heavenly Dragon like Amara felt the need to take him seriously.

Adrian knew his trials were far exaggerated compared to the rest of his team. Why did he have to face a being beyond his current level.

"You saw that?"

The Demon King still refused to turn around, but still spoke.

"I did. I was known as the Demon King of War. I was the single greatest embodiment of the art of War. I rose from a mere orphan to the legendary Demon King of War. What it got me was trapped in this tower. How shameful."

'Hila, the trial.'

<The coronation of the Demon King of War was a mark of endless war following his rise. His rise to power was without question the most ruthless rise to power in the history of the Demon race. Your actions on the last floor proved your might. You will now face the unbound Demon King of War. The goal is to kill every last demon."

Before she could finish the Demon King snorted and trended around. His skin was pale gray, his eyes bright yellow and a mighty pair of horns emerged from his temples. He was also huge and reached the same height as Adrian.

"I have a different option. I will face your Dragon in single combat. She is the only one in your army that can do so. If you win, my army is yours to command. They will all swear on their souls while the opposite is true.

If your dragon falls, you and your army become mine. You will be trapped with me in this accursed tower until your master picks another. Do we have a deal?"

<Adrian, this is not how the trial was supposed to go.>

'Does it matter? I get the fact this is supposed to be challenging, but what the hell. I got this tower as a reward for completing just Dark Souls. Are you telling me that even more dangerous threats are up there? No thanks.

Amara walked forward as a grey glow emerged from her body. Adrian had not seen her do that so he wondered if she got her own Principle.

'Master, I got this.'

Adrian jumped off and backed away.

"We have a deal, Demon King. I will try to resurrect you when I get the chance."

The Demon King snorted.

"I can see that. Will, you also make me into a creature of metal and flesh. What you call Demons are power I admit."

Adrian shook his head.

"Your body and soul are the only material I will need. Anything else will just ruin the material."

The Demon King's mind went blank for a second.

'This geezer is calling me material. Damn.'

He gazed at Amara who Adrian promised free reign. He was just keeping his promise with extra steps. The Demon King looked at Amara as he introduced himself.

"I am the Demon King of War, Rexam. What is your name Dragon?"

She snorted as her name left her throat.

"Amara."

She charged forward with the full intention to flatten her foe who took a martial arts stance. No sword was needed as his body was his weapon. He had completely forsaken the path of magic to focus exclusively on his body. He had forged his body into an impenetrable armor that no spell or blade could pierce.

All over his grey skin red veins glowed as while he gave up external magic, it still flowed in his body. Her fist clenched while a massive gathering of his internal force gathered. He punched Amara's fist while Adrian and the Demon army closed their eyes from the blow.

An eruption of dark grey miasma against blood-red took their focus. The magnitude was beyond what Adrian gained as this was a true Heavenly Class battle. When the dust settled it was obvious that neither one had lost ground in that blow.

Adrian felt forced to stop his swords into the ground while his Demons held his body down as the impact was like a catastrophe. The scales on Amara's fist had minute cracks in them while the Demon King's armor and part of his skin had been turned to stone. Adrian knew what had happed.

"An Everlasting Dragon with the power to turn all into stone. Deadly."

Both Amara and the Demon King separated as their minute wounds healed. Rexam waved his hand and removed the effect of her power. It was powerful, but he had dealt with it in the past. However, he noticed how his hand did not feel normal.

Amara felt that his power was still in her scales as they each had some unique tricks. More mana began to flow in Amara's body causing massive waves of dark grey smog. Rexam grinned as his internal mana and energy flowed like snakes.

The output was similar in scale to Amara as beings at this had massive magic recovery. Adrian knew it could not outpace a Dragon and a half elemental like Amara. Rexam and Amara began to exchange a flurry of punches causing the very ground to quake and shake.

Everywhere around them, the ground turned to dust from Amara's ability while Rexam power shattered what he touched. His special ability was the power to break things and he had never hit something as hard as Amara.

He had wrestled with Dragons, fought gods, broke continents, and yet these scales just would not break. His eyes glowed bright yellow as he looked for Focal Points in her scales, and found none.

If there were none he would just make some. He stopped moving for a second and waited for Amara's fist to land. She rose to her back legs as her arm pulled back. His instincts told him that was wrong so he dodged.

He avoided her tail thinking that was her great plan. He laughed until the most powerful flames he had encountered landed on his body. They were dark grey and they made his skin feel dry.

Amara punched through her flames as her fist struck true launching him for hundreds of miles. He stopped himself with the pure grip on his fingers. He touched his nose where his purple blood emerged.

'She hurt me?'

He had not seen his own blood in centuries making him smile. A giant pair of wings emerged from his body as he took to the sky.

"How about we rise? The warm-up is over."

"Agreed."

Amara's 4 wings spread open as she flew into the blood-red sky with the Demon King. He popped his neck as he took a deep breath.

"I have not done this in years. You are the first to force me to use it."

His skin burst open as he grew larger wiht dark brown fur growing all over his body. His feet turned into hooves while his face elongate into that of a bull. His horns widened as he grew far larger than before.

He looked like a 50-meter tall Minotaur with red veins all over his body. He was still smaller than Amara, but the size did not look as funny then when he was still in his normal form. He bellowed like a bull as he and Amara clashed in the air.

The very air shattered as Rexam and Amara let loose the full force of their abilities. Adrian's felt his internal organs shake, but his new physique offset that damage. He had a newfound respect for Amara and Rexam as a whole.

As for the Demon army, they were in a thick cacoon of shields held by the Super Class Demons while the Satan class gave their mana for it. They all were looking not at Adrian, but their king who was locked in a brutal battle with Amara.

With their full world-destroying power unleashed the sky shattered and crackled revealing the void between worlds. Amara's flames turned the air to stone while her every movement filled the air with it.

Rexam's fists destroyed everything they touched. Be it the air, Amara's miasma, or even her scales. Already with him going all out her scales finally had shattered in some places. Her claws slashed his chest cutting through his hyde.

He elbowed her face causing cracks to run down her face. For the first time, her blood leaked, but even that was deadly. Amara's mind started to slip further and further into a rage that burned in her very soul.

Rexam's eye turned bloodshot as he remembered his origins. Just one of many orphaned children in the slums that no one cared for. He could not afford a sword or a weapon so he used his fists. To survive he punched his way to the top until he became Rexam, the Demon King of War.

Both Amara and Rexam roared as they activated their innate abilities. Amara entered outrage mode for the first time causing her black scales to gain a grey shade while Rexam's brown fur was dyed white as his skin.

They pulled their fists back as they put their all into that blow. Rexam roared as this fight with Amara aligned with the first time he faced a dragon in battle. He was only 15, but he punched it to death.

When their fists collided, Adrian looked on with a grin.

'Kill him, Amara.'

The explosion that resounded was for the sure world a breaking scale. Adrian entered his Dragon Realm to escape while the Demon army stayed behind. One of them activated an item that came from the time of The Demon King of Magic.

A second shield came above them to absorb half of the energy. That allowed them to survive as they waited to see who emerged victorious. A massive body fell from the sky making the Demons hold their breath.

The smog had not cleared, so they had to wait to see who had fallen. From the silhouette, it did not look good to them. Amara flapped her wings and revealed which of them had fallen.

Rexam had fallen from the sky with his right arm having been ripped off. His chest had been caved in, but he was still alive. Amara's left arm hanged limp from her massive body, while grey blood leaked all over her body.

Adrian appeared from his Dragon realm in front of her as he saw her panting. Her outrage mode had taken a lot out of her. Even her Dragon Heart had felt painful as she had supercharged her last blow.

"Amara."

'I am fine, master. Just tired.'

Rexam rose while supporting himself with his left arm. His giant body stayed in his transformed state, but that would not last. Blood leaked from his chest and mouth as most of his internal organs got turned into a slurry.

It did not stop the giant grin on his face. He broke out laughing which made his condition worse as blood rained down from his mouth.

"You did it. You actually did it. You win. My soul is yours."

He stabbed his arm into his chest finishing himself off. His eyes lost their light, but he still smiled.

"You are worthy to be my master."

He fell limp and returned to his real form. His smile was still on his body as Hila gave him the prompt.

<Soul of Rexam, Demon King of War acquired.>

Adrian walked toward the body and stored it in his inventory. He turned to the army of demons that numbered 40,000. 6 giant figures that radiated the aura in the Superclass kneeled in front of him and were followed by the 40,000 demons behind them.

"WE PLEDGE BY OUR SOULS TO SERVE THE SOUL LORD!"

Adrian sighed.

"I accept your pledge. Rexam shall return to you in due time. For now, who can tell me what the third floor holds."

One of the demons raised her head. She looked like Rexam and was the strongest of the 6 Superclass demons.

'Must be his daughter.'

"Before we were trapped in this tower there was one foe who could fight our king alone. A vampire of great power who not even the Demon King of War could kill. He is trapped in the third."

'DAMN IT HILA! WHAT IS WITH THIS TOWER!'

<In terms of a game, you are facing it in Mega Brutal. They have normal difficulty. The trials the others face are far easier than this. It is scaled to their level while you are forced to face beings beyond your level.'

Adrian sighed as he had work to do. He was not confident in facing someone like Rexam once again as Amara had her arms shattered. She was healing, but Rexam's abilities limited her healing. He needed to get to that level and soon if he wanted to finish the tower.

'Hila take me out of this tower. I will let the others finish the first 5 floors. I will need to do some work. Outside.'

<Affrimative.>

Before any of the demons could say more they all appeared in Adrian's Dragon Realm as he teleported out of the tower. Hila sent them a message informing them that Adrian would be taking the Tower later.

He could not absorb more souls, he could not go up the tower and he was facing beings above his level. He had a year and he was going to work himself to the bone so he could survive the stupid Tower on Mega Brutal.

Already on the second floor, he faced something beyond his level. What would be the face on the 999th floor?
