Chapter Twenty-One

Michael's POV:

I may have been feeling horrible right now for letting my daughter leave for the airport on her own, but I'll get over it I'm sure.

As I was about to look over a stack of papers, our doorbell went off. I assume Catherine was going to get it until it went off again. I growled in annoyance before standing up and making my way to the door.

Once I opened the door, I was surprised. There, standing in front of me was Mara.

"How can I help you, I think Catherine may be out of the house for the day," I tell her.

"I wasn't here to talk to Catherine," She tells me. "I want to speak to you," She tells me.

"Come on in then," I told her. Once she steps into the house I close the door and lead her to the living room. "So what is it you wanted to talk about?" I ask, already having an idea of what.
