Chapter Seventeen

Peyton's POV:

It's been about three hours since my mate fell asleep. Although it seems creepy, I've been staring at her, laying on my chest all three of those hours.

There's that moment in your life when you pray that everything can stay as it is in that moment, and this is one of those moments. I could only pray that the day would pass us by as we lay in bed without a worry.

Soon, this moment will pass though. I'll have to tell her something that I'm afraid might scare her away. I don't think I'd survive if she abandoned me for any reason, and that's what scares me. Because I have a secret that could ruin our relationship, I know that if I told her she'd run for the hills. I'm a fucking monster. Because of stupid genetics, I may never have the comfort of my mate beside me ever again.

I'm so fucking scared. Scared to lose her. My beautiful mate, the angel laying beside me. The human I love.
