Chapter Eleven

Cambry's POV:

As I sit at my desk, I grab my pink pen and start writing. I know it's not the best idea to run away, but I just have to.

Dear Everyone, I apologize for my disappearance, but sometimes you need a break from everything. I have too much on my mind to stay here and do nothing. I know that eventually, I will have to come back, but we'll wait and see. Although I'm leaving all of you this note, I hope you forgive me eventually. I love all of you, I just need some space.

Love,

Cambry Jaxon

Once I wrote the letter, I put it on my desk, redressed myself in a black hoodie and black leggings, then I grabbed my white and black Adidas and I put them on. Once I packed a small bag, I threw the hood over my head and snuck downstairs and out the door. I brought my emergency money just in case.

As I was walking out, I silently wished everyone well and I wished I had something to smoke or drink.

I guess it's not that big of a deal that a stressed teenage girl snuck out, or that I snuck out, I guess. I mean have you met me?

---

Once I was miles away from my house, I slowed down, hearing some men laughing down an alley nearing ahead of me. Of course, I don't care enough anyway, but I hope my story isn't going to be one of those cliche stories where the girl gets kidnapped, then rescued by the man she's in love with. Right, my story is real, that stuff only happens in novels.

As I walk past the alley, I hear the laughing stop and footsteps following behind me. I quickly grab the long sleeves of my hoodie and tighten my grip on them as the hair on the back of my neck stands up as a warning.

"What are you doing?" A man's voice says, right behind me. I know the best idea here would be just to keep walking, but, hello, this is my life, so I'll do whatever the hell I want.

"Um, I'm sure you can tell that I'm walking, unless, of course, you're blind, then you could probably hear, so use one of the senses the gods gave you, they might be helpful," I tell him, yeah, I know, I tend to ramble.

"I can see that, my question was, what are you doing out here, alone?" The man says.

"Actually, you asked 'What are you doing' and I answered that already," I say, rolling my eyes, letting go of the sleeves, and turning around while crossing my arms in front of me.

Once I was facing him, I noticed that this man was actually not bad-looking. Of course, I'd rather be with Peyton, but come on, I have eyes, and this man looks hot!

"You- ugh- just tell me why you're alone out here." He says, annoyed while waiting for me to answer his question.

"I don't think that concerns you. And if you plan something, just know, my bodyguard is right behind me in the shadows," I tell him, obviously lying. I'm a strong female, I don't need any man protecting me.

"Really? What does he look like, a ghost?" He asks, chuckling at his boring joke.

"If you thought that joke was funny, just go look in the mirror and you'll see something even funnier," I told him, which overall wasn't my best line, but whatever.

"You're feisty," He says, smirking at me. "I like you," He tries to flatter me.

"I like me too, but you need to shoo and mind your own business," I tell him, before I can walk away, two of his men stopped me by startling me from behind and picking me up over their shoulders. I start hitting my captor's back, hoping he'll let me go. I literally just want to go back to my house, but I don't see that happening.

"Let me go, you freakin giant!" I scream, hitting the guy who threw me over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, on the back.

"Darling, you'll be fine," the man I had a whole conversation with said while sitting next to me in the back seat. They literally sat me in the middle seat. One of his many giant men was sitting on the other side of me.

"Don't talk to me like I'm your wife or something," I tell him. "Although you would be lucky to have me as a wife, I am amazing," I tell him. The only way to get out of this is to annoy my captor. Plus, I'm really good at being annoying.

"I sure would," The hot man says while winking at me.

"Wanna hear a joke?" I ask the man.

"Sure," He says.

"What goes Bz Bz?" I ask him.

"A bee?" He asks.

"No, a person getting electrocuted." I make a terrible joke "I want a dog, can you get me a dog?" I ask the man.

"You don't even know me, and you assume I'm just going to get you a dog?" He asks.

"Can I have your name?" I ask the man.

"JB," He says.

"What if I just call you JJ?" I ask the man.

"But my name is JB," He says.

"Who cares, your new name is JJ," I told him. By that little thing, I know I kind of made him mad because his aura all of a sudden changed from chill to annoyed. "My name is Esmerelda," I lied to him. Of course, that's not my name, but I've always wanted to tell a stranger to see their reaction. "But people call me Mera," I tell him, kindly.

"Nice to meet you," The man says kindly but then looks back out the window.

"Do you have any peacocks?" I ask him.

"No," He says.

"How about horses?" I ask him.

"No," He says.

_-_- 3 Hours Later_-_-

"Do you have any monkeys?" I ask.

"Will you please shut up," JB says, way passed annoyed. I'm surprised they haven't kicked me out yet.

"No I will not, now do you have any mon-" Before I finished, he told the driver to pull over.

"I don't have any monkeys, NOW GET OUT!" He yells, I looked into his eyes and they made me believe that I exhausted him.

"But-" I started saying.

"No- out," He says, holding the door open as he waits outside for me to get out. "Okay, thanks for the ride to the middle of nowhere," I tell him, getting out. As he got in and they drove off, I waved the whole time as they drove off, until I couldn't see them anymore.

"Who said annoying my captors wouldn't work?" I ask myself as I walk back the way we came from. "This is going to be a long walk," I sigh as I continue walking.
