On another part of the island, the celebration was in full swing. 

A huge bonfire stood in the middle, its flames blazing so bright like a beacon amidst the dark. Women and children danced barefoot around the fire with an ever present smile on their faces, their soft laughter and cheerful shrieks blending with the festive tunes that filled the air. 

Not far away, the middle-aged and elderly were sitting on a low slope, some playing traditional musical instruments – drums made from hollowed-out tree trunks, flutes carved from reeds, and horns fashioned from large conch shells – some enjoying the feast and rice wine, laughing and chatting merrily, while others were watching their offspring with a fond smile on their faces.
