56 Don't Look!

"Rui Ye…?" Song Zhuyu called out, his tone careful and tentative.

Yet he received no response. The blind man had his entire weight on him, head buried into his chest, rendering Song Zhuyu unable to examine his condition.

It was not the first time Song Zhuyu had encountered a case where people died due to possession, even as the exorcism was performed successfully and the dark energy eliminated. It was mainly because the human's body was too frail to contend against the malevolent forces, resulting in multiple organ failures which led to instant death. Moreover, he had to note that the toll on Rui Ye's body must be doubly harsh, for he was directly possessed by the demon itself. Given how weak-looking and thin Rui Ye was, it was not strange for the possession to destroy his body inside out. 

Yet despite all odds, Song Zhuyu couldn't bring himself to believe that this little guy could keel over so easily like that.
