After Test

Shen Yue made it to class on time. Waking up early, he delivered a letter to Shen Xiu that she left before taking. Shen Xiu mentioned about a special class that was today. The letter was as follows...

(Stop with the commoner bashing. It will be your downfall I assure you. This list will cover what you plan to address in class. This will also correct issues with the Sacred Family as well as give credit to those who need to know regarding the inscription patterns we talked about previously. Shen Xiu was actually modestly dressed for once. Still stylish that drew the attention of the females in the room. As well as a few males still. She broke through to the 2nd level of the Gold Rank and exuded a confidence that made the students pay attention more.

"Nie Lie and company.." Shen Xiu tucked the note away after reading all of it. ".. take a seat now. Guess are coming today. But you may stand if you really want to." With a shrug, they all sat down in their seats.

Sitting in the classroom Shen Yue spent most of his time trying to sort out the cultivation manuals still. The experience from the last few nights and days caused his mind to race more. To many chances would slip by if he wasn't prepared.

Knowing that there will be times for infiltration, Shen Yue started to focus more on a few techniques inside the Star Martial Arts for himself to suit those needs. The Spiritual Gods would not be able to see through easily with him being a Champion and all, so their was that.

As the spiritual energy circulated throughout his body, the class continued on.

"Today we will re-talk about Inscriptions." Shen Xiu wrote on the board while addressing the class. She made sure to make eye contact with the students to be more engaging. It worked for the most part. "Whether becoming a fighter or a spiritualist, Inscriptions are very important. They are divided into two types, Device Inscriptions, and Battle Inscrptions."

Removing a piece of armor, she placed in front of the class to see.

"Device Inscriptions are embedded onto Equipment and will greatly enhance it. Increasing the user's prowess, especially for a Demon Spiritualist. Using High-Level Inscriptions embedded in armor and weaponry will enable them to exhibit power beyond their limitations." With a touch to the armor, it lit up white-hot. The patterns that of several flames dancing. "With this, the gap will shrink between different cultivators."

*Fwish!* The pattern on the armor exuded flame until she removed her hand. With a wave of the hand, it was stored away.

"Battle Inscriptions..." Shen Xiu removed several pieces of paper and passed them around. ".. are generally etched onto scrolls for casting. Utilizing stored soul power to activate. With the proper control, one is able to generate explosive combat prowess."

The students moved their fingers around the patterns. Nie Lie and Xiao Ninger could tell these were fresh but neither one of them recognized the pattern.

"Inscriptions are said to be the culmination of our ancestors' wisdom." She gave a pause before continuing. Somewhat reluctant to say these matters. "A major increase during the Snow Wind Empire reign as time were harsh. However, it is to be noted that it predates that time frame. Small patterns found in various ruins."

The Vip's paid closer attention at what was said.

"A great increase in honing the process during that time as well as the Dark Ages that lead to a bit of stagnation for us humans. Civilization suffered a catastrophe after catastrophe in the coming ages. Demons and beasts the root cause but the biggest danger was treachery amongst each other." Shen Xiu didn't know why but her eyes landed on Nie Lie. This caused him to actually look up and not pretend to be asleep anymore. "Glory City has only inherited a small portion of the inscriptions that exist."

'Why is she looking at me like that?' Nie Lie was confused.

"It is up to the rabble rousers and pain in the but students to lead the way in making better futures." Walking from Nie Lie, she stared at her nephew. "To take chances and bring back the lost techniques to help as we head into a brighter future."

"Right.." Shen Yue nodded as this was not written on the note. So he was correctly confused.

The first of the Vips muttered a little. This was Ye Sheng the Vice Principal of Holy Orchid Institute. His old countenance didn't keep away from his strength and wit. Not to problematic but no pushover.

"Even as former people of the Sacred Family she keeps a good head on her shouders." Ye Sheng was aware that she withdrew from her clan as little as this morning. The proper documents turned into the City Lord's Mansion along with that of Shen Yue's once more. "To have such a scope of knowledge, the family mus be hurting to lose her and Shen Yue."

"There are a few students who are not bad at all." Lu Ye grinned after checking the students over. From Shen Yue's constant cultivating in class, a few students were closer to hitting the Bronze Rank without even knowing it. "Makes me excitied for the future." The sharp mustache wiggled a little from his smiling.

"What is your view on the class?" Ye Sheng asked the only one who said nothing. The other kept silent only giving a slight grunt.

"Another Inscription I would like to talk about, is the Sacred Fire Inscription." Shen Xiu took a deep breath before continuing. "In the Research for this particular Inscription, the Sacred Family is the acclaimed leader."

Nie Lie faced scrunched up at this. He was about to cause some trouble but Shen Yue's next words cause an issue.

"So far the Sacred Family claimed that their were over 66 types. That is incorrect." Shen Xiu made a few samples on the board. Quickly making at least 70 of them. "In actuality, there are over 600. The most used however is the Scarlet Flame Inscription, which is accredited by the First Generation of the Sacred Family. This is not true and was only claimed by them. Family records can attest to the truth of the matter."

A few gasps could be heard in the room. The Vips paying closer attention to what was happening now. After letting them calm down a little Shen Xiu continued.

"Nie Lie, I am sure a member of Heavenly Marks Family knows a thing or two about these Inscriptions. Care to share with the class?" Shen Xiu was still on the fence but she did still felt anger from the slight Nie Li gave her before. 'If he does not answer it is fine, but if he does it fits into what Shen Yue is wanting. Why, I have no idea.'

Nie Lie started to drown on and on about the patterns. Shocking his classmates as well as the VIPs.

"..Another method originates from the Book of Divine Lightning Fire volume 7. With the original name being Lighting Flame Burst Inscription. Composed of 60 method Inscription. It is considered to be complex but some fool cut out the lighting-related portion randomly. Changed it up along with the name." Nie Li finished speaking.

"That fool would be the 1st generation Sacred Family member." Shen Xiu sighed mentally but pressed on. "As a teacher, I have to teach correct information. So I am setting the record straight. What Nie Li said is true. The book can be found in the library."

"Oh! I read that book a little!" A student said in suprise. "In fact, I have it on my persons." A few students gathered around trying to read the book. However, the older language was to difficult for them. "Too many diagrams and I need more training in the Snow-Wind Empire's language."

"Yuan Jiao, take a look on page 30 or so, and check over diagrams 5-7." Shen Yue turned to the young man. "That book has a better account as it is older than those purchased at the market."

Nie Lie eyes narrowed. The chance to one-up the Sacred Family was almost wasted but with Shen Xiu admitting to everything it held credibility and would only damage them slightly. The fact she was willing to cause strife would have to work in his favor later.

'The Sacred Family are just Fame Seekers! They've always lived under the claim of being the Sacred God of Inscription inheritors. Shen Yu and Shen Xiu may be the exception but that does not change what happened. Remembering how they abandoned their post cause Nie Li's blood to boil. 'That traitor family has to pay! Glory City will see the kind of people they are!'

'To slander their own family like this.. how brazen.' Ye Ziyun didn't know what to think really. She knew she was not capable of doing it herself. Her eyes drifted to Xiao Ninger who said nothing and only observed. Seeing as how the last time they talked went, she looked at Nie Li. 'Why is he so angry? Shen Xiu just gave him a chance to make his family proud.'

As the class discuss this further with a little mudslinging at the Sacred Family, Lu Ye returned with a copy of the book and the information he found out about Nie Lie. As well as Shen Yue but that did not need mentioning.

*Bwoop!* A sound Talisman was deployed to hide their conversation.

"I just checked and Nie Li records indicate he has only a red Soul Realm!" Lu Yu announced.

"Hmm, such a pity. So knowledgeable but a poor aptitude. Otherwise, he would've had a bright future ahead of him." The elder lamented at the chance for a good student. "Ye Sheng, arrange the position of Collection Deacon for him."

"Yes!" Ye Sheng answered quickly. 'The Lord intends to protect Nie Li? An interesting development. But he made no declaration for Shen Yue. Guess he is still wary of him." As the class wrapped up, he stood behind for a little longer. 'With the note delivered to the City Lord's Mansion, things are rumbling under the surface. As well as increased activity by the Dark Guild. To much is happening to quickly.'

As the students left, Nie Lie heard a few talking matters over. The Sacred Family had tried to do a marriage between them and Ye Ziyun. Not only did they try to use Shen Yue still but they even pressed hard for the City Lord Mansion to agree.

The matter of Shen Fei had hurt the reputation of the family as well as Shen Yue and Shen Xiu having withdrawn from the family. With the Winged Dragon Family stalling with the engagement announcement between Shen Fei and Xiao Ninger, things were not looking good for the Sacred Family members.

The Inscription incident would just make it worse after circulating a little more.

As things grew worse for the Sacred Family, they did not retreat at all. Shen Ming actually cracked down harder. Making Shen Fei train more instead of partying and causing trouble. As for Shen Yue and Shen Xiu, he arranges for some trouble to befall them alter.

Unable to bother the Patriarch with news like this. Afraid it would ruin his cultivation seclusion this entire time.

Or worse, make it regress. With so many members working outside the family currently, they needed to be careful. Especially with no word come back on why the City Lord Mansion is putting pressure on their business a little.

"Elder!" A member of the family ran in with a document. "Bad news!" Snatching the document up, Shen Ming felt the blood drain from his body almost. He coughed up blood and fell back into his seat dizzy. "Oh crap!"

THe member ran to get help as fast as possible.
