Meeting Samara (2)

As the clock ticked past ten pm in Pinehurst, the entire town was plunged into darkness. The streetlights flickered and died, leaving the town shrouded in an eerie blackness. All the residents were already indoors and fast asleep, leaving the entire town silent like a graveyard.

The only sound that could be heard was the incessant chirping of crickets, which only served to make the darkness feel even more oppressive. The occasional hoot of an owl added to the sense of foreboding that hung over the town like a thick fog.

Dim lights emanated from one of the houses at the far end of the town. The atmosphere in the house was tense and foreboding, as Lucius, Alexander and Priscilla stood in the midst of the two women lying on the ground. One of the women was still, her eyes closed, looking almost dead, while the one by the other corner was alive but unconscious.

Priscilla bent close to the less critical one, which was Samara and looked back at Lucius with a worried expression before turning back to attend to the woman. She was frantic, trying to revive the unconscious woman, while the Lucius stood back and watched, his arms folded across his chest, his aura quickly turning cold and deadly.

Priscilla breathed a sigh of relief when she realized that the woman was still breathing. "She will be okay. The spell did not affect her." Priscilla smiled in relief as she stood up and started to whisper some words.

"The crazy little witch. Now I wonder why she tried to do something this stupid," Lucius muttered to himself.

He just found what Samara did stupid, unreasonable and even laughable. "What was she even thinking, attacking you with that black spell like some deranged woman," He said shaking his head.

Alexander walked over to the other woman lying by the opposite corner. He bend over the woman who looked like she would be dying in any second. He checked her pulse before opening her eyes that had turned pitch black.

Alexander reached out and placed his hand on her chest, whispering some strange words which were barely audible as his palm began to glow.

The blue light emitting from Alexander's palm engulfed the woman's chest before completely disappearing, leaving only a small mixture of black and blue smoke around the woman's chest area.

Nothing happened for the first few seconds, but the woman's skin began to darken, making it look like it was getting burnt. Then suddenly, the woman started coughing out black smoke, her body convulsing as if something was being expelled from her.

The black smoke slowly dissipate into the air, and the woman's breathing became more regular. Her chest rose and fall as she took in deep breaths.

The woman's eyes slowly opened, and stared at Alexander weakly, her eyes had returned to their former brown color.

Zelia slowly blinded her eyes, her body felt totally drained of energy. She turned to her left and saw Priscilla kneeling close to Samara who was still unconscious. Her eyes immediately widen as she recalled what had happened.

Priscilla had asked her to accompany them to see Samara. Zelia was hesitant at first, but she had to comply since she had no intention of disobeying Priscilla's orders.

The plan had been to convince Samara to come with them peacefully to the manor or knock her out and still take her back to the manor if she refused to come with them. But everything went downhill when Samara tired to kill Priscilla with a dark spell.

The talk seemed to be going smoothly until Samara had unleashed a powerful spell towards Priscilla. The spell was aimed directly at Priscilla's heart, and there was no way she could have dodge it in time. But just as the spell was about to hit her, Zelia had jumped in the way and summoned a shield, which collided with Samara's spell.

The collision was explosive, and a bright light filled the room. The force of the impact had sent both Zelia and Samara flying in opposite directions.

Zelia tired to sit up, but she was unable to move, her her body felt heavy and unresponsive. Panic began to set in as she realized she couldn't move her limbs. She realized that she could only move her neck and with much difficulty. She turned to Alexander, her eyes widening even more with fear.

"Relax," Alexander said, gently placing his palm on her head to check her temperature.

He frowned when his palm made contact with her skin.

"Why can't I move?" Zelia asked, her voice filled with fear.

Alexander stared at her eyes for a few seconds before looking at the spot where he placed his palm.

"It's part of the healing process," he finally replied, removing his palm from her forehead. "Your body is reacting to my magic, and it's causing a fever."

Zelia turned to look at Priscilla, standing nearby, who looked relaxed about the situation.

"I'm leaving with her," Alexander announced, his tone firm. "She needs to rest and heal properly."

Without waiting for a response, he scooped Zelia into his arms and disappeared into tin air with, leaving Lucius and Priscilla behind.

Lucius glaced at his watch before turning to face the door.

"Take Samara back to the manor." He instructed Priscilla and started to walk away

"Your not coming with me?" Priscilla asked, looking surprised.

Lucius frowned at her question.

"No," He replied curtly, without breaking his strides, leaving Priscilla behind.

"Asshole." She muttered to herself before turning to look at Samara' still unconscious body on the ground.

Priscilla shot a fierce glare at Samara before carefully dragging the unconscious woman's body out. With utmost caution, she placed her in the car before hopping into the driver's seat and zooming out of the town.

...

Leah put on her earphones and began her nighttime jog, enjoying the calming atmosphere and the ability to focus on her exercise. Although she had not intended to jog that evening, she decided to do so to clear her mind.

After thirty minutes of jogging, she took a brief break to stretch her muscles before continuing her exercise. Feeling invigorated, she chose to run the rest of the way home instead of continuing her leisurely jog.

Leah arrived on her street, out of breath, her house in the distance. She removed her earphones and sat on a nearby bench to catch her breath. While resting, she heard a rustling sound coming from the bushes nearby.

At first, she ignored it, but it persisted before finally stopping altogether. Puzzled, she stood up and approached the area where the noise had come from, her brow furrowed in confusion. As she drew closer, she turned on her flashlight to examine the bushes, but she found nothing out of the ordinary.

After realizing that the rustling sound was just a harmless rabbit, Leah rubbed her face and let out a deep sigh. She chided herself for getting worked up over nothing.

"Must have been a rabbit."

As she muttered to herself, she heard footsteps approaching from behind. She became nervous and reached into her pocket to retrieve her pepper spray. Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder, causing her to turn around and spray the person's face without hesitation.

"Argh!" Lucius groaned as he clutched his face in pain.

Leah's eyes widened in shock as she stared at the man she just sprayed—it was the crazy man from the hotel who had saved her the previous night.

"Oh my god! I am so sorry," she apologized.

"You really hate me, don't you?" Lucius groaned in pain as he rubbed his eyes.

"Stop rubbing it." She pulled his hands away from his face. "I'll take you to my house and clear it from your eyes. This pepper spray is different."

She held his arm and led him to her house.

She led him to her couch and sat him down before going to her room to grab a clean towel and a small bottle from her wardrobe. She returned shortly and sat beside him, she poured some of the liquid from the bottle to the towel and used it to gently clean his eyes.

"Am really sorry, I didn't mean to spray you. I just freak out sometimes," Leah said.

"What if it was one of your neighbors, let's say a old lady for example?" Lucius asked in calm tone.

"My neighbor would have called out to me instead of just touching me," Leah replied, glaring at him as she wiped his eyes with the towel.

"I would have done that, but I don't know your name because you refused to tell me the last time we met," Lucius said, pushing the blame to her.

"Seriously?" Leah rolled her eyes. "What are you even doing in my neighborhood by this time of the night?" she asked with a suspicious face.

"Isn't it obvious, I came to see you but you blinded me." Lucius brought up his hands to touch his eyes but Leah spanked his hands. "Ouch."

"I told you not to touch her eyes, didn't I?" Leah glared at him again. "What do you mean by you came to see me. It seems like the pepper spray also got inside your brain." Leah said sarcastically, pressing the towel harder on his eyes.

"Hey." Lucius pulled her hands away from his face and he slowly blinked his eyes open. "Were you trying to shush my eyes?" Lucius asked her with a slight frown as he tried adjusting his eyes.

"Let go of my hands." Leah glared at him but Lucius didn't budge.

She tried pulling her hands from his hold but his grip only tightened but not enough to hurt her. She used more force to pull her hands but Lucius dragged her instead and she fell on his chest.

Leah's eyes widened as she felt the hardness of Lucius chest. His sweet scent immediately hit her nose and she subconsciously inhaled to get more of the scent. He smelt like a mixture of spices and coconut which were two her favorite scents.

"You know, one day we would be just like this on my bed after some pleasurable activities." Lucius said,

Leah immediately snapped out of her little mental drooling and pulled from him before standing up. Her face was smooky red as she looked anywhere else but him. She felt so embarrassed, how could she be carried away by his sweet scent. She mentally slapped herself when she realized that she was still thinking about Lucius scent as sweet.

'Get a hold of yourself, Leah.' She reprimanded herself.

"Your look so cute right now." Lucius said as he rested his jaw on his palm.

"I should have used more of that pepper spray on you," Leah said. "And it's not to late to do it now."

Lucius leaned his back on the couch, smirking at her.

"You can get out of my house now, Mr," she said pointing towards the door.

Lucius glanced at the door and then back at her with a thoughtful look.

"I'm sorry for my behavior," Lucius apologized. "I had a really bad day and wanted to cheer myself up a little," Lucius said with a sincere face.

Leah sighed.

"Do you usually joke with other people like this?" She asked him.

"No. But you're different from other people, you're special," Lucius said with a calm smirk. "I should probably go now."

He stood up from the couch and walked towards the door.

Leah was taken aback by his sudden change in comportment. She was a little dazed for a moment before she regained her composure and moved to the door.

Lucius was standing right outside the door with calm look as he stared at the clear sky before turning to face Leah who was already by the door.

"That pepper spray was really hot," Lucius commented with a playfully, causing Leah to laugh.

"I added a few ingredients of my making," Leah said with a proud smile.

"Hm." Lucius nodded. "Good night," he said and turned to leave.

"My name is Leah," Leah said and Lucius stopped on his track, he smirked without turning to her.

"I know," he simply replied as he walked away.

Leah stared at his back as he walked away with a confused look, wondering how he knew her name. She stood in the same opposition staring at him till he was out of her sight before she went back inside.
