38 The Call

For some reason, my lungs had a brief lapse in memory and temporarily forgot how to take in air.

The color of his eyes made me feel both frightened and fascinated all at the same time.

But hold on a second: what caused the redness to spread across his eyes? This unexpected turn of events left me with a lot of questions.

His gaze was glued to mine. It looked as though he was about to launch himself at me at any second. 

It seemed almost as if no one else in the room existed or noticed the strange manifestations that were taking place other than myself.

Inadvertently, I moved closer to Ben with the intention of nudging him, perhaps to draw his attention to the fact that the so-called Alpha was awake, but something prevented me from doing so.

My whole body started acting very strangely. It was almost as if I could hear him warning me not to make any movements in my head at that very moment.
