"I can't believe I'm going to be late on my first day of resumption," a nineteen-year-old boy muttered while paddling a bicycle as fast as he could.

He had stunning features that would be envied by anyone who glanced at him.

He had short golden hair which reflected the sun's rays and partially covered his left eye, which along with the right eye, also had a metallic golden colour. He was further complemented by his smooth white skin and well-fitted body.

He was currently paddling a bicycle at a speed that was far from normal.

"Is that him!" a girl who he had just passed screamed in excitement after catching a glimpse of his features.

"Come on now, you know there are many impersonators. I've seen quite a few," said a girl that was walking beside her.

"I guess so, but you have to admit. That wasn't a normal cycling speed." She still wasn't convinced that she was wrong.

"Whatever, let's get going".

********

"I'm afraid if I try to go any faster, my bike would break down. I'll need to get a stronger one later." Even though he said this, he wasn't sure he could do so, as this bicycle had been his partner for a long time.

There was something strange about the road this golden-haired boy was cycling in.

Contrary to what one would expect at a modern age like this, there were no vehicles on the road. It was mostly filled with bicycles and other means of transportation that didn't operate on fuel.

This was caused by the severe scarcity of fuel and this wasn't their only problem.

It all began with a meteor crash which happened about 5 years ago.

After the failed effort of the military to destroy a meteor, which had entered the Earth's atmosphere. It crashed into Europe.

A special team was sent to inspect this unusual phenomenon, but they never made it back alive. It was later discovered that strange creatures began emerging from the craters caused by this meteorite.

They began spreading out into other regions and despite all the efforts made by the military against these creatures, they kept regenerating without a single one of them being killed.

They also possessed enhanced physical traits and supernatural abilities, which caused humans to be the ones facing annihilation instead.

Feeling the urgency of this dire situation, which could threaten the whole of humanity, it was decided that all the affected areas should be sealed.

Thick walls made of the strongest materials were erected, while they tried their best to evacuate as many people as they could. But evacuating everyone was a pipe dream, as these creatures were spreading out at an even faster rate.

They were able to complete the walls before the creatures arrived, succeeding in sealing them and everyone else in there. Some people rejoiced while others grieved.

As expected, the people who were sealed along with these creatures began to face annihilation, and all hope seemed lost. Until, some weeks later, a metal that was able to injure these creatures without them being able to regenerate as quickly as they usually did and even put an end to their lives was discovered, near the area where the meteorite had fallen.

With this, a group of people under the leadership of a man named George Chris, were able to fight them off with this metal now called slaisten, enabling a stronghold to be created, within which a large city got built called Euthopia.

The human population recorded a year after the incident was a whopping 300,000+, and that had been four years ago, which meant the population had grown.

George Chris became the monarch of Euthopia.

It still amazes people how he was able to organise and control such an amount of people and achieve this much in such little time. This showed how intelligent and wise this man was.

People began to adjust to the new system and the monarchy.

Multiple jobs were created for the people to indulge in to better their lives and the economic development of this Grand city as they referred to it because its land mass was enough to be a little country.

A new type of currency was also produced and circulated.

But this still wasn't enough to solve the entire problem as this Grand City, didn't have the resources to support such an amount of people. After contacting the outside world a year later and much pestering, trades began to commence at the border, along with the evacuation of some people a year after.

This was happening at a slow rate as they couldn't take a large number of people from Euthopia through the area that these creatures had now occupied to the borders. As it was even risky with a small number of people. Evacuation had begun with children under the age of 16 and for now, there haven't been any casualties as all the operations had been successful.

All these operations as well as internal and external security of Euthopia were being handled by the sentries, and it seemed like a certain sentry was about to get into some problems.

"Almost there, just a few more minutes. Arghh! This is all that stupid alarm's fault. Why did it stop ringing when I pressed the snooze button?" He cursed the poor alarm, which was only doing his job.

"Ahhhhhhh!!!" A scream Resonated from the small streets causing him to stop his bicycle.

"Come on, why now, she's going to be pissed," he muttered with a frown. But suddenly an idea popped into his head which caused a large grin to appear on his face. "Yes! This is a blessing in disguise, the perfect excuse has arisen. Now I just have to get there on time." He began, cycling to the small street.

The deeper he got, the most screams he could hear.

"This is quite far. The first woman who screamed is amazing. Screaming has to be her natural talent." He was both awed and surprised by how far her scream travelled.

He finally got to his destination where he could see people running away from a creature that could be compared to a butterfly. But instead of being beautiful and colourful, this creature was anything but that.

It was completely black, with furs on its body, having eight pointy sharp legs and large wings. Rather than having a proboscis, it had a narrow mouth with different layers of teeth.

Even though this place was a haven for them. It wasn't completely safe. Sometimes abyssals as the creatures were called managed to slip past the first line of defense around Euthopia and ended up within the city.

Sentries were stationed around the city to prevent this from happening, but for some reason, the rate at which these creatures appeared compared to about three months ago, was skyrocketing.

The abyssal had blood on his mouth, indicating that it had at least killed someone, but the golden-haired boy was not bothered by this. He even had a smile on his face while looking at the abyssal.

'Even though it's not very strong, it should do,' he thought, getting off his bicycle and slowly walking towards it. "I didn't bring any gear with me, so you'd be facing my fist instead." The moment the last word left his lips a golden aura exploded from his body.

The abyssal attention was immediately drawn to him. It stared intensely at the golden figure approaching it, with its yellow slit eyes filled with wariness.

"Kreeeeeeeee!!" The abyssal shrilled before charging at him with its powerful sharp legs which pierced into the ground, every time it took a step. When it was two metres away from its target, it slashed forward using one of its legs.

Its sharp leg cut through the wind, heading directly for his neck, but he stood still with an unbothered expression. A slight wave spread across the area upon contact.

The abyssal couldn't believe what it was seeing. By the confusion of its eyes, it was noticeable that this particular abyssal had some traces of intelligence, but what good was it when it was completely outmatched?

Its attack hadn't even fazed the aura its enemy was producing.

"Was that supposed to be an attack? Come on, you can do better than that. Or let me show you how it's done. "An evil grin appeared on his handsome face while giving off an aura of danger.

He grabbed the abyssal's leg, which couldn't advance a centimeter into his aura.

Seeing one of its legs being grabbed, it dug the remaining 7 into the grounds to increase its footing as if knowing what he was going to do next.

He scoffed at this action before yanking it forward as all its legs were uprooted in an instant, drawing it towards his second hand, which was already being sent forward.

"BANG!" A loud sound reverberated across the area with a wave spreading out as the abyssal was sent crashing into a building.

"Oops! I hope the occupants aren't at home," he said with a slightly bothered tone. He notice that he was holding something in his hand, but he didn't believe he brought his sword with him, so he took a look.

"I guess it left this behind," he muttered staring at the abyssal's leg before tossing it onto the ground. People who possess abilities could kill abyssals without the use of slaisten.

"I don't think that thing's dead yet. I didn't use too much force." He walked towards the house which it crashed into and as he thought he could notice small movements within.

The abyssal was about 3 metres tall and 4 metres long, so the house was able to contain it.

As he walks forward, he could hear the whispers from the crowd around him.

"Is that him?"

"Of course it is."

"I didn't know he would be even more handsome in person."

"Tell me about it."

"I wish my hair was like his. Maybe I'll dye it later."

"So you want to join those wannabes, huh?"

"I heard his actual name is Ray."

"I prefer his nickname."

"I love you Morningstar!!"
