My Dao

After another few weeks of training the time had finally come for James to attend the event. However, despite them leaving in less than an hour James was currently inside his house with full concentration written all over his face with his eyes closed.

Noel and Cara were also present watching over him as they had nervous expressions on their faces, "Do you think he will be able to pass it without any trouble?" Cara questioned as she looked toward the love of her life.

"If I wasn't completely confident he was going to make it then I would have never let him try and advance his Dao." Noel said with a slight smile forming on her face but it was hard to hide the slight hint of nervousness still present. No matter how confident she was in James there was always a variable that could possibly come into play at any point.

As for James, he was currently deep inside the depths of his mind sifting through an abyss that surrounded him. When he had first started gathering Qi earlier on he had been going through the same motions looking at his Dantian and organs as he slowly took the Qi from the surrounding air.

Everything seemed normal at first until suddenly his mind was transferred deeper in somewhere he didn't understand. However, despite not knowing exactly where he was there was a word imprinted in his mind as if telling him the answer to where he was or a clue, it was the word 'Dao'.

After trying to escape the dark world for a while James began pondering on the word that had been lodged in his head from the room. The Dao was a thing that a person follows their entire cultivation life and was one of the large stepping stones for a cultivator reaching greatness. From what James was told in his current stage of cultivation he would have to choose his Dao which would be something he would have to use to strengthen himself from now on.

For some people that was their greed for money or maybe something like swordsmanship. For each of these people, their Dao can be enhanced the more they practice or the more they acquire in relation to their Dao. With this, they can become stronger and reach the top of the world.

On the other hand, people that choose a Dao early on and then find that it no longer fits them are put in a terrible situation. If a person has a Bow Dao then they start practicing with a spear instead then they will be stuck at their current cultivation level until the end of time.

While their skills may improve with the weapon their raw power and Qi reserve will never see another inch of growth until they pick up a bow again. This was why choosing your Dao was so important and had to be something dear to you. It had to be something that represented your life and the reason for your goals. It had to show your will to live and strive for success in this chaotic world.

"What is so dear to me that it will never change? Well, I'm not going to pretend like I don't know the answer." James whispered to himself while chuckling. He knew all along exactly what his Dao was going to be.

Ever since he had been introduced to the sect and started his new life with cultivation he had always been accompanied by the loves of his life. It was a love so strong that even he surprised himself sometimes as they surprised him as well.

The three had such a strong love and bond with each other that they would kill or murder anyone in their path whether they were righteous or evil if the other asked. In their minds, nothing in the world mattered more than the other causing a type of deep romantic tie. A word that his older sister used to use all of the time to describe the best type of living person.

It was a 'Yandere'.

This term that had been shared with him was perfect from the beginning. It represented everything that he was while also representing the relationship between himself and the girls that owned his life.

He would die for them as they would for him and there was going to be no one that came between them otherwise he would murder them and mutilate their body on the spot.

"My Dao, is the Dao Of Yandere." James spoke into the void.

After James spoke these words he suddenly felt a rush of Qi begin forming in his body at a quick pace. It was quickly absorbing within him going into his Dantian which was struggling to keep up as it slowly expanded showing the increase in power.

In addition, beside his Dantian and tiny black crystal was forming which seemed to be the force behind the Qi as it was rushing out of the crystal directly into James' body giving him an extremely uncomfortable feeling as it coursed through his body.

It started off as uncomfortable then slowly began becoming more painful as his Dantian was failing to keep up. The influx of Qi was so strong that even the outside of his body began getting covered in black Qi spreading into the surrounding room before shooting back into his body to find a spot inside his Dantian.

"AGHHH!" James shouted outside his body making Cara and Noel look at each other nervously as they wondered whether they should stop the event or let him keep going to hopefully break through.

In the end, they decided to let him keep going but both Cara and Noel clenched their hands until they bled hoping to any deity out there that their love would be alright in the end. Normally the influx of Qi would never be this big which was observed by Noel as she watched with a frown but she kind of expected it since her love had many sides and secrets to him she had yet to find. He also had the most potential she had ever seen giving her a load of excitement.
