12 CHAPTER 12: Class Change Quest

[Stage 1: Defeat Knights]

Suddenly, Aiden opened his eyes in a square room, as if he was inside a giant castle, and soon dozens of different swords began to appear in the room. Each sword was different, katana, double edged, two-handed, great and many more.

Then several doors around the room opened and paladins in black armor came out. The paladins had different symbols on their armor and their armor had different details. Some armor had sharper lines while others were more slender. Each of the paladins had a different sword, just like the ones in the room.

[Notice!]

[Your weapon has been returned to your inventory.]

"What!?" Aiden looked down at his hands and the gauntlets he'd been wearing when he'd come in were back in his inventory.

[Quest: Defeat The Knights Using The Weapons On The Area.]

When Aiden saw the message, he immediately went to the nearest sword and used his [Dash] skill to appear behind one of the knights and sliced it in half at the waist.

"Well it wasn't ha-" Aiden couldn't believe what he saw before he finished his sentence. A strange liquid was coming up from the side where the knight's feet were, and his armor was regenerating differently. The upper part of the knight was reconstructed in the same way as the waist and bottom, so one knight that Aiden had cut off had come back as two knights.

"Fuck."

This time Aiden tried to look for an io tip by dodging the knights instead of attacking them directly, but the knights would jump on Aiden like suicidal enthusiasts and Aiden would have to attack, and every time a knight was badly wounded, a strange liquid would come out of the wound and form a second knight.

As Aiden ran around the room, he looked everywhere, at the doors and walls where the paladins first came out, hoping for a clue, but in vain, until he realized something.

"Those two paladins over there never attacked me. They didn't even come near me, very strange."

Suddenly Aiden leapt like an arrow from the wall and cut one of the two knights in half, but this time the knight stayed on the ground and his body disappeared.

"I think there is a different sword for each knight, and if they take damage with a sword other than the right one, they multiply. Sigh..."

Aiden started looking at the sword and the other knight while the other knights kept coming at Aiden and Aiden had to run away. Soon Aiden noticed something on the sword. There was a mark on the hilt of the sword and this mark was also on the other knight. The other knights he cut with this sword had different markings.

"Now I understand!" Aiden first cut the other knight with his sword and then he dropped the sword, picked up another sword and took down the knights by matching the knights with the hilt on the sword.

So Aiden took the sword and moved quickly to cut each knight in half with matching swords.

[Stage 1 Clear]

[Stage 2 Begins]

When the last knight was eliminated, system messages suddenly appeared.

"Stage 2! Now?! You've gotta be kidding me!"

[Stage 2: Defeat Knights]

"Wait it's same!"

Aiden thought it would be the same as the previous stage, but this time there were a lot more swords and a lot more Knights. Also in this phase the Knights were more aggressive and sharper.

On top of that, he was still tired from the previous stage. His fatigue kept increasing, but Aiden, on the contrary, was having a lot of fun.

"Hahahahahahaha...!!! It'so funny!" Aiden felt like he was in an amusement park, dodging random knights like a child jumping around. As Aiden was running and jumping around, he was also looking at the knights' armor and swords, but unlike the previous stage, this time the symbols on the knights were not on their chests, but on their backs or necks, which were harder to spot, and some of the knights were wearing cloaks, making the mark even harder to see.

After a long chase, Aiden took down all the knights, but he was too tired, so he drank some of the stamina potions he had stockpiled in his inventory and reset his fatigue.

[Stage 3: Defeat Knights]

This time there were no symbols on the knights, he had to choose swords according to armor types and take down the knights.

[Stage 4: Defeat Knights]

More knights and knights in a wider variety of armor.

[Stage 10: Defeat Knight Boss]

This time there were two swords in the center of the room and Aiden and the Knight boss had the same type of swords in front of them.

Aiden nimbly grabbed the sword and charged at the Knight Boss, but the Knight Boss quickly drew the sword and blocked Aiden's attack.

The Knight Boss was a white knight and he shone with dignity. Like the other knights, it had no face, but it gave off a completely different aura from the others.

*Clang!

*Clang!

*Clang!

*Clang!

As the sound of two swords clashing echoed, Aiden felt something strange. It was as if he was connecting with the sword in his hand.

With each collision the feeling grew. Aiden didn't know what to do but he thought he had to touch this feeling and as the feeling in his sword flowed into Aiden, Aiden was trying to touch that feeling.

*Clang!

*Boommmm!!

As soon as Aiden touched that feeling, a shockwave spread and a blue aura began to appear around Aiden and the sword.

[Notice!]

[You've acquired [Sword Aura] temporarily.]

Aiden was surprised, but the sensation made his body feel lighter.

*Booommmm!

Aiden looked across and the Knight Boss had also opened his aura.

"How about we finish this in the next attack?" Aiden said.

The Knight Boss didn't say anything, but it was clear from the way it didn't attack that it agreed.

Aiden was holding his sword upright so that it was in the center of his body and he closed his eyes and tried to concentrate his aura and perceive the environment. Soon he felt that he could see his surroundings even though his eyes were closed, of course this vision was not a physical vision but more like noticing every single energy in the environment. From the heat emitted by the torches on the wall to the cold darkness coming from behind the doors to the bright aura coming from the Knight in front of him.

Aiden started to intensify the aura on his sword. But instead of increasing the size of his aura, he was trying to squeeze it into a small space.

The aura of Aiden's sword started to glow and changed from light blue to dark blue, but the aura never went beyond a certain distance of the sword. Aiden realized that he couldn't squeeze any more and that he didn't have enough aura left anyway.

"Here I come!"

*Booooommmm!!!!

The moment the crescent-shaped dark blue aura released by Aiden made contact with the Knight boss's aura-covered sword, a giant dust cloud and explosion occurred.

"Cough! Cough! What happened?!"

As Aiden coughed through the dust cloud, he saw the standing figure of the Knight Boss and immediately took his guard up, but when he looked carefully, he saw that the Knight Boss was standing with its sword broken and a giant wound on its chest.

[Stage 10 Clear]

[Stage 11: Defeat Archers]

"What! Archers?!"

This time bows and archers began to appear around. Aiden rushed forward and started looking at the differences between the bows as fast as he could. Aiden also had a quiver full of arrows on his back.

Then the archers had markings, just like the knights, and Aiden matched the markings on the bows with the markings on the archers and started shooting.

This stage was also relatively easy, except that Aiden's accuracy was very low at first and the Archers moved very little.

[Stage 20: Defeat Archer Boss]

[You've acquired [Strike True] skill temporarily]

"Arrows shot without moving cannot be stopped and will hit the target." Aiden said, looking at the skill description.

Aiden and the archer boss were standing facing each other and they were both aiming at each other. The archer boss's body and arrow started to glow green while Aiden, thinking that his normal mana was not enough, infused the arrow with shadow mana with the [Infuse] skill. A brilliant green light shone from one side of the room, while a dark shadow appeared on the other side, as if it wanted to swallow the room and the green light.

It was going to be the last attack for both sides because both the boss and Aiden only had one arrow left and they were using that last arrow.

"[Strike True]!"

Aiden used the skill and fired the arrow, which was completely filled with shadow mana. Of course the archer boss didn't delay and fired the arrow too. The two arrows collided in mid-air and the giant shadows and the green beam collision lit up the whole room. The floor where the two arrows collided was shattered by the shockwave, but in the end, Aiden's shadow arrow pierced through the boss's arrow and pierced a giant hole in the shadow boss's body and stuck into the wall.

"This shadow mana is very dangerous. I would never want it to be used against me. My arrow seems to get stronger and stronger, while the other arrow's power keeps decreasing... as if it was eating the other's mana."

[Notice!]

[One of the hidden pieces about shadow mana has been unraveled.]

[Name: Shadow Mana]

[Rank: Special] (Depends on the user)

[Description: Second Mana.]

[Effect (passive): Predation: Shadow mana eats and strengthens any counter-energy it comes into contact with.]

"Wait, so the explosion in the dungeon and the opponent here absorbing the mana from the arrow was due to this skill? But there are still a few things I haven't figured out, and I have to figure them out."

[Stage 20: Clear]

[Stage 21: Defeat Mages]

"So mages this time."

This time there were wands around and each one had different colored stones on it, and since Aiden doesn't have a magic skill, the spell will depend entirely on the wand he chooses.

"Great Wind Spirit Blade!" Aiden sent dozens of huge blades of wind magic towards the spirit mage in front of him, and the opponent's body was shattered into pieces.

[Stage 100: Clear]

The spirit of wind behind Aiden disappeared with the sign that the stage was 100 over.

"Haa... haa... Who is the next?!" Aiden didn't know how long he had been there and all he did was go through the stages.
