4 First Dungeon Dive

After registering as an official adventurer, Alex decided to test his luck inside the dungeon. However even on his first try, Alex would never underestimate the dungeon as he heard many novices has died even on the first and the second floor.

Before going straight to the dungeon, Alex visited first a blacksmith shop and bought 20 knives and daggers even with the lowest quality to atleast try to save money but with the quantity, he was left broke as even the lowest quality, it was still pricey for him.

"My money, my allowance! Will Kronos choke me to death if he knew I've already used it all?"

Alex mumbled in a dejected expression as not even a single coin of vali was left in his pocket. However, he decided to cheer himself up as he marked all the knives and daggers with the skill formula of the [Flying Thunder God].

"Now I'm all set."

It didn't took long for Alex to arrive in the tower of Babel. The entrance to the dungeon is on the first underground floor of Babel. In the center of the room is a ten meter long hole that leads straight into the dungeon. Within the circular room are multiple columns at equal intervals and above is a beautiful azure painting of the sky that resembles the real sky. Along the circle are gentle stairs that spiral down into the dungeon.

Alex entered, where he saw many people going back and forth to the dungeon. Going down the spiral stairs, Alex was filled with excitement in his heart.

Around Alex, there were dozens of people with different races, wearing heavy and light armor, mage, assassins, or anything you could think of, preparing and discussing about the dungeon.

Nearing the entrance of the dungeon itself, Alex saw several guards standing in front of it. Alex gave one of them his papers and they let him in. But after Alex was a few meters ahead, one of them spoke to the other.

"Another lost cost and a child at that, he clearly isn't wearing an armor but only a basic short sword."

"Shouldn't we stop him? Letting a kid die in the dungeon leaves a bad taste in my mouth." Said the other guard.

"Not our problem, the papers said he is capable, so we probably don't have to worry about the brat. Now shut it, the next person is coming."

Alex who heard them appreciated their concern so he raise his guard more. Alex went down the stairs that leads to the first floor of the dungeon.

The first floor only had goblins and kobolds. As he had studied a bit of the dungeon during the past years, even he wasn't able to enter the dungeon, he still armed himself with knowledge.

There is also a wide hallway on the 1st Floor known as the Beginning Road. Newbie Level 1 adventurers with status of I to H in their basic abilities normally spend time on these floors.

Alex stepped into the first floor dungeon and he found it was so quiet. Despite the adventurers were flooding in the entrance of the dungeon, it was big enough where it was rare for adventurers to cross each other.

"Yosh! Let's do this."

Alex muttered inwardly and ventured forth. His eyes were filled with alertness. To be honest, his senses were screaming as if it sensed something terrifying.

Ominous and hostile presences shifting around in the dark. He could sense those 'things' were moving in the wall. But then...a crack. In the wall in front of Alex, a figure begun to appear.

A single goblin with a stone knife in it's hand jumped from the shadows inside the crack, trying to ambush Alex. The goblin's movement was quick, and Alex's current movement speed meant that he was basically incapable of keeping up. However, Alex still managed to side stepped out of the goblin's way by relying on his reaction speed instead of his movement speed.

The slash of the goblin passed through an empty air, missing Alex's throat by an inch. Without even looking at the goblin, Alex strengthened his grip on his sword, stabbed the air and pierced the goblin's head.

'They tend to make simple attacks, while in the depth of their tactics further on, when on the first floor, they are fairly straight forward.'

Alex remembered the informations he obtained about the goblins. His body moved before his mind could command to do so. He also found it strange that his body was moving like it's only natural. He might have trained his combat awareness before but a real life to death combat should be different.

Suddenly, he found why he felt he was proficient in fighting that mades his body keep up even in this kind of situation. It was the fraction of fighting experience that he received from the two soul fragments who were both experts and genius on their own.

However, Alex's body didn't stop moving.

'Goblins are good at playing dead especially against stronger opponent so ensure the kill.'

Alex quickly moved and rushed forward to the goblin. He attacked with his short sword, leaving several stab marks on its body. The bleeding goblin retaliated by turning its head to bite Alex.

Before it could do so, Alex stabbed its head once again hitting it's vitals through its eyes. The goblin instantly disappeared leaving a shiny crystal on the floor.

"Strange. That goblin was so durable even I had pierced its head already."

Alex mumbles as it should already be dead on his first strike yet the goblin was able to withstand several of his heavy and brutal attacks.

Suddenly, Alex heard sounds of cracks. Feeling tensed, Alex turned around. One, two...ten shadowy presences in the wall around me.

"Ahhhh...sh*t!"

Alex quickly assessed the situation. He knew to himself that he fucked up. This shouldn't happen or rather this wasn't really normal. Based on the info he had, monsters doesn't appear in groups in this floor.

"Does the dungeon hate me already?"

Alex couldn't think of any other reasons. This was the dungeon, he knew it would screw you over and over again. The goblins was one thing, but Alex could see a few kobolds mixed within the group.

"Fighting a group is dangerous but not for me."

Alex keep his cool looking at the hostile monsters in front of him.

Alex took out 10 knives in his backpack and skillfully throw it all at the monsters. Taking a deep breath, Alex gripped his short sword and opened his eyes that were glaring at his prey. In the next moment, Alex disappeared from where he stands.

"Flying Raijin Slash!"

All the monsters could see was crimson flashes moving around occasionally stabbing and slashing their vitals. The goblins and kobolds could only scream in terror unable to do anything about their attacker.

In just a matter of seconds, all ten monsters disappeared leaving behind their magic stones. Finishing them all, Alex breathed heavily and mutter.

"Crap! The consumption cost of the Flying Thunder God is so massive. I barely had left before I could enter Mind Zero."

Mind Zero is simply when you use too much magic and passed out due to the stamina drainage. As he consecutively used [Flying Thunder God] earlier, it left Alex heavily drained which made him feel heavy and exhausted already.

"Well I guess it's should only be natural?"

Alex muttered to himself while slowly picking up the magic stones. As he had just became an adventurer today, he thinks it should only be natural that his magic reserve weren't that large.

"I shouldn't leave even a single."

Alex muttered again as he picked up the magic stones. Magic stones are the core of monsters and are typically located in the chest area of the monster. With the informations he had gathered, adventurers and supporters gather magic stones to trade them in for valis at the Guild. Magic stones have magical power in them that can be used for things such as lighting, water purification, cooking stoves, refrigerators, and other things. So every magic stones is worth of money.

"Oh lucky!"

Alex exclaimed seeing several drops such as kobolds' fangs, goblins' claws in the floor. Drop items are items that can sometimes remain along with the magic stone after a monster dies. They are parts of the dead monster and are used to make weapons and items and therefore are traded at high prices.

"I should call this a day for now."

Alex looked at the walls of the dungeon knowing that he was no longer in perfect condition to continue. He had a gut feeling that the dungeon might send more monsters than before which would only made himself killed as he could barely moved his body.

Even he wanted to travel to atleast to the 5th floor for today, Alex reluctantly decided to return back at the surface and continue tomorrow. Moving his heavy and sluggish body, Alex exited the dungeon and made his way to the guild.

Stepping out of Babel, Alex saw the sun was setting outside already. Alex made his way to the automated exchange machine and dumped all magic crystals and drops.

Receiving a small mountain of coins worth 10K Valis, Alex made a satisfied smile seeing the money he obtained on his first dungeon dive. Feeling drowsy, Alex teleported back to his room and decided to sleep.

Leaving a crimson flash, Alex disappeared in front of the automated exchange machine which had surprised many people. Alex who didn't knew that he had caused a commotion, immediately fell down the moment he saw his bed.
