Bell's expression darkened hearing that. The Goliath was clearly stronger than a Minotaur as his body shudders.

Bell was aware this isn't the traumatizing fear that overtook him that day against the minotaur. This is awe. A human reaction to realizing the existence of a different scale of power.

However before Bell could complain, the Goliath had began its rampage. The Goliath swiped its arm targeting the three of them. Seeing the incoming attack, the three of them swiftly leaped perfectly avoiding it.

They are sweating bullets, since they were almost hit by the giant arm. If they were just a moment late, they would be crushed like a bug.

Even though Welf was the weakest among the three, because of him being Pagma's Successor, all of his basic abilities had already reached S, just a little more excelia to reach 999 and max out it all.

With his agility and dexterity at S, Welf was still faster than average level 2 adventurers which allowed him to barely dodge in time along with Alex and Bell.

"Do we really have to fight it?!"

Bell yelled in anxiety while holding Lilly tightly in his hands. Even though he was now a level 2 adventurer, he wasn't in the perfect condition to fight the monster rex as he was already exhausted.

Hearing him, Alex helplessly sighed as he landed to the ground. At first, he doesn't really intended to fight the Goliath. However, things had changed his mind when a system message appeared.

With the appearance of the quest, without thinking much, Alex decided to take the risk. He felt like he would regret it if he let the rewards go away and he also wanted to found out his capabilities anyway.

Alex also saw the same notifications in front of Welf, meaning the two of them received the same quest. He noticed Welf's expression that he wasn't really into finishing the quest but he disregarded it and put more focus on surviving. The situation was just that dire and desperate.

"Bell, let Krausel protect Lilly. I'm confident that my partner can keep her from harm. Let's the three of us keep our focus on dealing with the Goliath."

Hearing Alex, Krausel instantly appeared on where Bell is in a speed of light which surprised Bell. As he had already seen Krausel's abilities, he let Krausel take care of Lilly.

However, things weren't that easy. The Goliath charged to Bell's direction. It was moving very fast, unbefitting its giant size.

"Stop!"

With two different screams, Alex and Welf immediately reacted. Alex threw the Splitting Edge with all his strength while Welf firmly stood in front of Bell. His muscles squeezed as he prepared to strike and confront the attack of the Goliath head on.

As the vanguard of the party, Welf steeled himself and put his faith on the Hero rated equipments he had with him.

"Golden Flash!"

The monster rex screamed as the ray penetrated through it. The monster rex screamed as the ray penetrated through it. Suddenly, Alex instantly appeared at the Splitting Edge, he stabbed the dagger and sword in his hands to the Goliath's right eye.

Due to how fast Alex was, it didn't even had the chance to process the situation before the blades penetrated it. The Goliath lifted its two arm and started to crush around the place, making the entire cavern tremble.

However because of Alex and Welf's interception in time, Bell was able to pass Lilly to Krausel's back. As Krausel had grown in size and had the stats proportionate to the level 2 Alex, the Celestial Cat has no problem in carrying the pallum and immediately ran to the exit and stayed away from the Goliath like his master's desire.

Standing side by side without the need of speaking any words, the three of them gripped their weapons and took a fighting stance. Sweat was falling and their expressions were serious. They were aware that they couldn't afford to make a single mistake or the cost will be their death.

The two of them were only a level 2 and Welf was a level 1. The giant monster rex on the other hand, was a level 3. Unlike the monsters they had faced before, a monster rex is like a super boss, or even a raid boss.

It was many times stronger and durable than the mobs in the upper and middle levels. Even though Bell and Welf wasn't really sure about confronting it and was feeling fear, they regained some of their confidence seeing that they were not alone. They had comrades with them that they could trust to cover their backs.

The Goliath used its two arms to break a large portion of the crystal wall and threw it at their location. The large bolder flew at high speed.

Seeing that it was too large for them to dodge, they had no choice but to destroy it head on. While Alex could use his Flying Raijin to make things more efficient, he canceled it as he saw flames was appearing in Bell's hand.

"Firebolt!"

He unleashed his magic straight to the incoming boulder. A blast of hot air expanded. Looking at Bell's attempt, Alex knew it wouldn't be enough. A sea of flames immediately filled a wide area towards the boulder as Alex also made his move.

"Majestic Destroyer Flame!"

Two fire spells confronted the giant boulder causing a strong explosion upon collision. Unfortunately, the spells wasn't able to destroy it but only slowed down it's momentum by a large margin.

However, that was enough for Welf to make his act. Rushing towards the incoming crystal boulder, Welf crossed his arm in front of him and immediately activated a skill of his Hero rated armor.

"Immobile Fortress!"

Timely using the skill, Welf survived as he withstood the boulder thay created a massive shockwave that blasted Alex and Bell away.

"Arg! Bell, Alex!...Go, I won't be able to move for 5 seconds."

Hearing Welf's yell, the two nodded and swiftly charged to the Goliath. The Goliath might be slow for a level 3 monsters but its still faster than the two level 2 adventurers.

'I have to somehow divert the Goliath's attention away from Welf for the time being.'

Alex calmly concluded as Welf will die if the Goliath would attack him when he wouldn't be able to move. Alex instantly appeared in the sword that was stuck in the Goliath's eye and immediately pulled it, swiftly making his move to the other eye.

"Vital Strike."

However the Goliath's survival instinct was sharp and detected the incoming harm. It's eyelid was able to close in time, only making Alex deal a shallow wound.

Roaaarr!

The Goliath was enraged and swiped it's giant arm towards Alex who was still on the mid air. Using Flying Raijin, Alex evaded its strike making the Goliath becoming more enraged.

It's skin turned slightly red and steam started to release on it. Since it could now only see on a single eye, its fury couldn't be measured.

'But more importantly, I got it's attention.'

Alex smiled as the Goliath was now ignoring the existence of Welf and was focusing its rage on Alex. What made Alex smile was that it was ignoring the white haired adventurer that was rushing to the Goliath's chest where its magic stone was located.

Running towards the Goliath with his fastest speed, Bell lunged straight to the chest not letting the opening Alex had created to go away.

Silver blur crossed through the cavern as Bell utilized his speed and aimed for a thrust in the chest with the sword, tightening his grip in the hands and delivered a full power blow with all of his strength.

The Goliath screeches in agony as the sword pierced him. Bell tried his best to push the sword in the chest to break the magic stone, but the sword was stuck into something.

'Is it bones or muscles?'

Bell grimly thought and immediately let go of the sword and retreated. He could see the vengeful glare of the Goliath was now focusing on him.

The Goliath angrily slammed its arm to Bell. Looking at it in the mid air, Bell gulped in tension.

'I won't be able to make it.'

However, while the arm of the Goliath was still on the distance, a giant orb of fire exploded in its arm, changing the trajectory missing Bell by just an inch.

Giant craters emerged as the Goliath slammed its attack on the ground. Bell paled when he saw the damage. If it wasn't for Alex, changing the trajectory, he would be squashed to death.

Seeing that he barely saved Bell, Alex teleports with [Flying Thunder God] reappearing behind his opponent. He then immediately followed up by multiple attacks. Turning into crimson flash again, Alex reappeared in the air followed by a slash, stab, and strikes after repeatedly teleporting to the location where he threw a marked dagger.

What Alex had noticed was when every time he disappears with [Flying Thunder God], it increases the damage of the follow up attack. As Alex was noticing the change in his Flying Raijin...In the middle of the intense fight, a miracle had blessed him and an option of the Reaper Stalker was luckily activated.
