11 To The Dungeon

-------------------Authors notes------------------

The last chapter was kind of short thanks to it being written on a broken keyboard and I couldn't handle it so I kind of cut it short.

Well, the new keyboard is here, so it should hopefully be a problem from now on.

Just thought I would let you know.

Have fun and enjoy.

As we were making our way around the city, making a few stops here and there to get groceries, Vials, and what else was needed at the store, we stopped at a few different stores meant for adventurers to search for equipment I thought would fit me well enough.

We ended up finding a set of cheap clothes that could be used until I had saved enough money to get what I really wanted since good quality equipment was quite expensive, I know it's not really important to look cool in the dungeon but I would like to look a little stylish but that will have to wait until I can save enough, we also decided which type of weapon I should use.

Miach advised against a sword since it's quite hard to use for beginners, we, therefore, went for a small dagger with nothing special about it and for my main weapon I decided that I was gonna learn the spear for use when my fire wasn't viable. (sorry sword lovers)

Afterward, we went to the guild to get me registered under Miachs's Familia and to have a small talk with Rose, She ended up being quite stubborn on the fact that I had to get a run-through of the upper and middle floors before going to the dungeon.

the back and forth finally stopped when we agreed on a crash course that would still last about a week this would also give me time to get used to the spear, and according to Miach, I should be happy that she let me get away with so little coaching.

After we got back home I immediately jumped right into training despite being a little tired from all the shopping we had done throughout the day, it took me a couple of hours and a couple of scoldings from Naaza to actually be able to use the spear as a functional weapon.

The next morning I went to the guild to get coaching from Rose where she told me about the different monsters on the upper and middle floors, she told me about their weaknesses, their strengths, and their habits like the fact that the War shadows could be hard to spot if they hid in a crevice, or goblins playing dead and so on.

When I got back from the guild I had dinner with Naaza and Miach where they gave me tips and tricks for survival in the dungeon, after lunch jumped into training, all the way until dinner after dinner I would just relax and help around the store.

A week quickly passed following this routine and it was finally time for me to head to the dungeon, I had promised Miach that I would only explore the first 3 floors on my first dive.

As such, I quickly prepared my gear and started heading towards the dungeon, right as I was about to leave Naaza stopped me.

"Ignis wait a second" She called out to me in a hurried tone.

"Yea what's up captain?" I replied curiously.

"I just wanted to give you a couple of potions before you headed out, you know just to make sure our fire guy doesn't die," She told me in a teasing voice as she handed me a couple of options.

She had taken to calling me fire guy after she saw how much fire I used, I in turn called her by names such as Naz and Aza which she really seemed to dislike.

"Oh Thanks, Naz, appriciate it" I was quick to shoot back.

As I called her Naz I could physically see her cringe, as I noticed her reaction I knew what was gonna happen next so I quickly bolted as soon as I reached the door I turned to look back only to be greeted by a cork from an empty bottle, it hit me right between the eyes giving me a sore red spot.

"Hmph." That was all I got from here after that as she made her way back to the counter.

I quickly decided to get back on my merry way, I started running towards the dungeon at a normal pace it would normally take me about 30 minutes to get there by walking, I reached there in just 10 by running.

As I stood there looking at the grand entrance to the dungeon with my spear resting on my shoulder excitement quickly filled my whole body, I decided to quickly make my way to the first floor so as to not draw too much attention.

I quickly made it to the first floor as I got there I quickly took it all in, the walls were a light blue in color, walking around on the first-floor corridors I soon reached a small chamber as I was walking into the chamber, I heard a loud sound.

*CRRRACK*

I saw it as soon as it happened out of the walls came 5 goblins, as soon as they appeared they saw me and immediately rushed towards me, as quick as they were it wasn't enough.

As soon as I saw them appear I readied my fire and willed it to travel up my spear, it quickly traveled the length of my spear as it did I swung the spear in a wide horizontal arc and the fire traveled in a thigh-thick horizontal line towards the goblins. before they could even react it had reached them.

The goblins burned away quite fast I quickly willed the fire back to me as I didn't want to burn the crystals, I was quick to pick up the crystals and continue my journey.

As I made my way around the first floor, I killed all the monsters that came my way both goblins and kobolds, the bag I carried with me quickly started to fill up with crystal, and the eventual item drop here and there, I had met a few adventurers and they were nice enough to point me towards the second floor.

In all my rushing I had forgotten the map given out by the guild for the upper and middle floors, seeing as it was quite hard to navigate without it I promised myself to remember it next time, luckily the first few floors weren't that complicated, so I could still venture forth without worrying about getting lost indefinitely.

As I was walking around the second floor, I came upon a room that seemed a bit bigger than all the rest, I quickly found out why from the walls and ceiling goblins and kobolds started appearing en masse.

There were easily around 50 different monsters, the first few monsters making their way towards me were quickly deposed by a couple of swift stabs by my spear, but soon they started to crowd around me so much using my spear was getting harder and harder with my minimal mastery of it, so I decided that fire was the way to go.

I quickly brought my spear to position above me and started spinning the spear as the spear started spinning I coated it in my fire and dumped a bit of mind into it, the fire quickly created a barrier between me and the monsters, and I took control of the fire and used the fire to spin the spear I let go with my hands and let the fire do the controlling as it reached it's max speed before the spear was at risk of breaking I let the fire loose. "Turben Flamma" I muttered.

As I did so a tornado with me and my spear as the center started forming, it quickly got big enough to engulf almost all the monsters in my vicinity, the monsters quickly started to scream, and almost as soon as they started they stopped, I had imbued a bit of mind into the attack the flames were hot but not hot enough to damage my crystal or the dungeon around me.

I gave a quick sigh of relief that I hadn't caused any real damage to the dungeon since I didn't want to risk spawning a juggernaut, only a few burn marks here and there and a few holes made by my spear.

I decided that this was enough excitement for the day and started collecting my spoils.

As I was preparing to leave the room, a group of young adventurers not much older than myself made their way into the room, noticing them I immediately got a little alert Rose had told me that the most dangerous thing in the dungeon wasn't monsters but humans.

As they approached I noticed they were sweating quite a bit, they also noticed I got alert as they entered.

"Hey mate we mean no harm, just here checking since it suddenly got very hot, we thought someone may be trying to destroy the dungeon." their leader a boy about my height with brown spiky hair said.

"Ah that, it was just my magic I was testing out nothing to worry about," I replied still alert.

"Then we're all good, oh yea totally forgot to introduce myself, I'm Jack and these are my teammates, we're all from the Megaera Familia." he introduced casually.

"Ignis. Miach Familia," I replied shortly, feeling uncomfortable being approached by an unknown group.

"Ah well, I have to get going. Nice meeting you Megaera Familia, maybe I'll see you later." I bid them farewell as I walked past them and out of the room.

"Ah, yea do come to our store the Blue Pharmacy, good potions and cheaper than normal." I quickly yelled as I made my way away from them.

It didn't take long for me to get out of the dungeon after that with my bag filled to the brim, as I left the dungeon I quickly made my way to the guild.
