34 33. My Hero

My name is Sanjouno Haruhime, I am a Renard.

I belong to Sanjouno family which is a noble family in the far east. My father name is Sanjouno Masashi, my mother died during or after my birth, so I don't know much about her, even I hardly talk with my father, our family has various businesses in the far east with a notable military power. I've been thought noble etiquette and many arts such as literature, painting, poetry and so on. I am not taught to excel in those but only the basics. My life is pretty boring, I have always been lonely, I have lived a sheltered life as a pure Renard maiden.

Even though I didn't meet my mother, I have received a chest which belonged to my mother, in that chest there were various books, some of them belong to literature,poetry and others but most of the books were fairy tales. From the first time I saw them, I got interested in it,the stories are about hero saving a damsel in distress,it may be because I was in the same position as the heroine in those stories or not but after reading them over and over, a hope generated in my heart, may be one day...

Some years passed I turned ten, then someone visited our family, I was curious about them, but I couldn't meet them easily because I am a young noble lady, I have to follow the etiquette. After a while, I got formally introduced to the guests, there are 5 people, 2 men and 3 women, one man who looked like the leader had a ordinary appearance but something about him made others respect him, his name is Takemikazuchi, he is a god. Out of 4 children, the oldest one of them has a large build and looked older his name is Ouka, one girl had droopy hair and gentle eyes her name is Chigusa, one girl had brown hair her name is chigusa and the last girl seemed different from all of them because he looked cautious of us and acted protective towards her friends, she has long black hair and sharp eyes, her name is mikoto. I found out that father has made a contract with Takemikazuchi sama to help him train our soldiers, in return he will donate money to shrine. I met them but not often,about 2 or 3 times in 6 months, our meetings were fun and I enjoyed a lot interacting with the children but father got displeased of my behaviour because in his eyes these children were 'worthless trash', he even had a hint of mockery towards Takemikazuchi sama because of their poverty.

Some years passed, I turned 12. I have lived a sheltered life like in the past but the only change was I have been meeting children from shrine in like every 6 months. I noticed that father has employed a well reputed familia in some tasks of training soldiers, his attitude and respect towards Takemikazuchi sama decreased gradually. He stopped visiting and talking to me completely. But I didn't care about him because everytime his visited me, he only talked about how to bring benefits to the family, we never had any 'family' moments. During my time of loneliness and isolation, some children helped me sneak out of mansion to play, I was scared at first but got gradually used to it.

Two years passed and I became 15, this is when things turned from bad to worse. Father caught me sneaking out with shrine and the relationship with shrine broke down, father no longer had any contact with shrine or Takemikazuchi sama, he would often scold me or curse me, I lived my life in despair, I don't know when it happened,but I was framed to caught eating an offering. Father got so angry that he directly disowned me. A pallum guest offered to take me away. In his eyes, I was a disgrace, even when I was leaving he didn't bother to look at me or talk to me, when I was leaving in the carriage, he just shot me a cold look, seeing that, a tear drop fell from my left eye.

The pallum had a lecherous look in his eyes but acted kind towards me, I didn't mind him but my life changed in that journey, while we were travelling, monsters attacked our carriage, the pallum used me as a bait and shamelessly ran away. I survived somehow and got caught by bandits and got sold to a brothel in Orario.While heading there I was caught by Ishtar sama of Ishtar familia and she bought me, later I became a member of Ishtar familia. My heart broke when I was told to work as a prostitute, because I wanted to be pure for my special one. But my desperate pleading didn't enter their ears, I was told to have a unique magic which is very valuable,so Ishtar sama treated me differently and gave me vip 'Customers' which aroused the jealousy and hatred of others , I was holed up in a room all the time, fellow members of my familia who were supposed to be my comrades, ignored me completely, but I got closer to a woman named Aisha, she treated me kindly and took good care of me like a sister her relationship with me is like the one with Mikoto, later I found out that she had a high ranking position in familia, and she shielded me from bullies.

One year has passed, now I am 16 years old. I was often trained by Aisha in my special magic it's name is Uchide no kozuchi.Uchide no Kozuchi is a level-boosting magic that can only be used on one target, other than the caster. Its effect can last around 15 minutes if Haruhime puts a lot of mind into it, after which an interval around 10 minutes is required before it can be used again. However, those affected by Uchide no Kozuchi gained less than half the experience a normal adventurer would've gained. Because of the magic's extraordinary power, information about it is kept secret to prevent others from targeting her for it.

I regularly have men visiting me at night , they first remove their dress, after that I don't know what happens, since I fall unconscious, I wake up morning to fell sticky all over. When the first time I saw it, I was in deep despair because,

I am no longer a damsel in distress,

I am not a pure maiden,

I am not worthy of being saved by a hero,

My life in despair and loneliness continued until I met someone, he had black hair, brown eyes, looked like a original adventurer,

something about him seemed different, he didn't look at me with lecherous eyes of 'customers' or pitying eyes of Aisha or cold eyes of father but he looked at me with warm and gentle eyes, he slowly walked towards me me and lightly stroked my ears and hair, and said softly,

"No, thank you, you are the first one to say that to me, but I am a prostitute not a pure princess, I don't deserve to be saved by a hero, I don't want you to get hurt because of me."(Haruhime)

It is not the first time something like this happened, many people said the same sweet words to me, in attempt to win me over but they didn't conceal their lecherous eyes, after I reject them, their would become cold and they would start undressing. I thought that he was also like them but a I had small hope in my heart that he would be different. I looked at him, his eyes didn't change before I could let out a sigh of relief, he came and hugged me tightly, I thought that he wanted to rape me, and gave up the resistance slowly but soon sometime has passed, I could sense him sniffing me but surprisingly he didn't take any action, I was perplexed but before I could say anything, he looked into my eyes and said,

"This isn't a fairy tale, you're not a damsel in distress and I am not a handsome prince who has come to save you,

he put his finger on my lips and moved closer to me and continued,

I don't care about anything else, I like you,

Be my woman,

if you consider yourself impure and disgrace yourself as a prostitute,

then continue it,

but,

even if you become a prostitute,

you will be

He was domineering and haughty but he was fairly charming to me, I had tears in my eyes, it was the happiest moment in my entire life, I don't care if he succeeds or not, but I will never forget that face looking at me, he spent sometime with telling about things outside and the plan to save me, I told him not get in any danger because of me, but he didn't care at all, soon the time was over, I became sad and reluctant to leave him, but mainly anxious about whether he would come to me again or not, but as if he found out my thoughts he came and kissed gently on my lips, I don't how many have kissed them but this is the first time I felt like this, boundless happiness and satisfaction, kiss happened only for a few seconds, it's short but very sweet he told,

"You are mine, wait for me"(Roy)

before he left.

Afterwards I just gazed at endless night sky and whispered,

"I have finally found,

MY HERO"
