Aston had reason to suspect that the system intended to train him as an all-around player, given the sudden increase in professions.
Dragon Chef, the pinnacle of culinary skills in the Chinese Little Master Chef, and Enchanter, capable of enchanting weapons and equipment with materials and magic to enhance their power.
As for the Master Beast Tamer and Master Brewer, their names were self-explanatory—beast-taming and brewing.
The last one, Nature Affinity, bestowed a person with the protection of nature, allowing one to navigate through the dangers of the natural world. It emitted an aura of nature, increasing the effectiveness of Beast Tamer.
Aston noticed another point. This ability seemed to work on elves too. The discreet glances from Ryuu during dinner revealed this. Before gaining Nature Affinity, Ryuu didn't exhibit such behavior.
The scent of nature seemed to act as a special kind of poison for elves, making them irresistibly drawn to it.
After dinner, the group chatted for a while and then entered their tents to rest. Aston, however, stayed behind to clean up, heading to the stream to wash the dishes.
This time, Tione and the others had agreed earlier to handle the supporter's duties.
However, not long after Aston finished washing, Ryuu came out of her tent and approached him.
"Aston-san, has something good happened to you?" Sitting beside Aston, Ryuu hesitated for a moment and finally asked.
Asking about someone's abilities is considered very impolite among adventurers, but the sudden appearance of the aura on Aston's body made Ryuu curious. If she didn't ask, she probably wouldn't sleep well tonight.
Although she didn't have high hopes of getting an answer, Ryuu couldn't suppress her curiosity.
However, Aston's response was quite the opposite. He answered Ryuu directly after her questioning.
"Are you referring to the aura of nature?"
After responding to Ryuu's question with a counter-question, Aston continued.
"I noticed that you were quite concerned about the aura that appeared on me just now."
"I carefully examined it and found that it is the aura of nature. Elves are creatures born in nature, so this aura is like a drug to them, making elves unable to resist wanting to get close."
"And it seems that you are in this situation now."
Hearing Aston's words, Ryuu suddenly realized, and then her whole person relaxed a lot.
This was what she was concerned about. She was afraid that she would be lost because of the aura on Aston.
But if this aura was the aura of nature, then everything was fine.
Legend has it that the ancestors of the elves were born from nature, and the aura of nature had great benefits for elves.
Not to mention anything else, staying by Aston's side, Ryuu felt that her whole body was refreshed, as if she had taken a potion with the dual effects of restoring energy and spirit. The fatigue from a day of battling was swept away by this aura.
"Judging by your appearance, it seems that the aura on me is quite useful to you." Watching Ryuu unintentionally show a satisfied expression, Aston also understood that the aura on him was quite beneficial to Ryuu.
For half-elves, it was probably the same. However, as the party involved, Aston couldn't enjoy such treatment.
"Ah, staying by Aston-san's side can eliminate fatigue and restore my body to its best condition."
"Aston-san, starting tomorrow, you don't need to give me potions to restore stamina and spiritual power. Once I'm tired, just staying by your side for a while will restore my condition." Ryuu didn't conceal anything, explaining her situation to Aston and also telling him not to give her potions tomorrow.
"Aston-san has this aura on him. Why didn't I notice it before?"
"It's that gruesome scene that suddenly appeared in my mind back then. Did I lose my composure because of that scene, and that's why I didn't notice?" After saying this, Ryuu's heart was far from calm, recalling the situation from the past and questioning herself.
"Hey, does it actually have this effect?"
"Interesting." Hearing Ryuu's explanation, Aston was slightly stunned, then revealed a smile.
Although Aston had gained this ability, he didn't know what effect it had. Now he knew.
The reason why this ability claimed to enhance the effectiveness of the Beast Tamer was probably because of this ability. Being able to attract elves, it naturally could attract various wild beasts living in nature. When wild beasts were attracted by his aura, the difficulty of taming them would be significantly reduced.
Watching Ryuu sitting beside him with an expression of enjoyment, Aston didn't disturb her and quietly cleaned the dishes.
However, as he cleaned, Aston suddenly spoke up.
"Ryuu, are you curious about my eyes?"
Aston noticed that after teaming up with Ryuu and the others, when he used the Sharingan for the first time, Ryuu and the others were very curious about the changes in his pupils.
Although Ais and the others were surprised that his eyes changed, they didn't pay much attention to it or inquire about it. Their reactions were quite ordinary. Only Ryuu had a reaction, her eyes narrowing instantly, though they recovered quickly.
But Aston knew that Ryuu was very concerned about the changes in his Sharingan.
Upon hearing his words, Ryuu was suddenly stunned and fell into silence without answering.
Seeing her in that state, Aston shook his head slightly and didn't ask again.
Most likely, it was related to the secret she was hiding in her heart. Moreover, this secret was related to his Sharingan. If Ryuu didn't say it now, he would know in the future.
What Aston didn't know was that while the two were communicating, in the distant camp, in the shared tent of Ais and the others, the three of them were poking their heads out of the tent, stacked on top of each other, watching them.
"Hey, hey, what do you think is the relationship between Ryuu and Aston?"
"We were hired by Aston, but it doesn't look like a commissioned relationship with Ryu; instead, it looks like a one-sided protection relationship." Tione's head was at the bottom, looking up at Ais and Tione, curiously saying.
"Ryuu's behavior does seem like she's protecting Aston." Tione agreed.
Ais: "...curious."
Aston was unaware of this.
After cleaning the dishes and putting them back into the system space, he and Ryuu returned to their respective tents to rest.
