1 The One Bearing 'All the Evils of the World'

Chapter 1 - The One Bearing 'All the Evils of the World'

'Bang—'

The monster at the end turned into a puff of black smoke and disappeared from the dungeon.

Only a 'magic stone' left on the ground proved that a monster once existed here.

"Today's [Daily Mission/Task] is finally completed."

Picking up the magic stone, a hint of joy flashed across Ethan's face. He looked like a typical east asian youth.

[Daily Mission: Kill 10 goblins!]

[Progress: 10/10]

[Mission Reward: Diamonds*10]

Claiming the mission reward, 10 diamonds were added to the balance, relieving Ethan.

After continuous efforts for a whole ten days, he finally gathered 100 diamonds today.

As the name suggests, daily missions refresh every day with uncertain content, including [Kill missions], [Collecting missions], [Exploration missions], and so on.

However, all these missions have one thing in common: they can be easily completed with Ethan's strength.

'Drip—'

Blood kept flowing from Ethan's arm, dropping onto the ground, staining it red.

Ethan just glanced at it and ignored it.

The next second, the wound that was still bleeding visibly healed at an astonishing speed, the wound disappeared, and the skin returned to its fair complexion.

It was impossible to tell that this place had once been injured.

With such powerful regenerative abilities, Ethan felt no joy but rather a heavy heart.

Half a month ago, Ethan crossed over to this world, an anime world called "Danmachi."

The prevailing theme in this world is a very common one of anime genres – a "fantasy world," "monster-slaying and leveling up," and "hero vs. evil dragon" type of isekai anime.

Orario, the labyrinth city, is hailed as the bustling metropolis at the "center of the world."

It is a vast city built on top of the dungeon, a gathering place for gods.

Thanks to the blessings of many gods, various races join different Familias, make friends, and engage in adventures, trade, entertainment, and conflicts.

This is a vibrant world where gods, elves, demihumans, dwarves, pallums, amazoness, and numerous other races intertwine in a fantasy-like setting.

Of course, as a transmigrator, Ethan naturally possesses his own "golden finger."

[Card Drawing System]

As the name suggests, it is a system for "drawing cards."

A system that has no other function besides "drawing cards," a very "pure" system.

[Name: Ethan Starfall]

[Current Card Pool: "Fate/Type-Moon"]

[Diamonds: 100]

Upon arriving in this world, the card drawing system gave Ethan a novice gift pack of ten consecutive draws.

However, Ethan's luck was questionable, with a total of ten opportunities resulting in only one successful draw.

[All the Evils of the World]

This is the name given by the ancient dualism of good and evil from the Zoroastrianism-based worship of the demon king named King of Daemons.

In the world of "Fate/Type-Moon," his true form was that of a nameless young man unjustly labeled as the embodiment of 'All the Evils of the World' in a Zoroastrian village.

He was imprisoned at the mountaintop, had his right eye gouged out, hands and feet severed, continuously tortured as punishment for being the absolute embodiment of evil.

Finally, after experiencing all the pain and suffering a human could feel, the young man naturally perished.

However, the hatred born from this absurd ordeal deeply imprinted in the rock prison, eventually transforming into an unnamed undead.

He became a daemon carrying the name of bearing 'All the Evils of the World,' an anti-hero burdened with 'sin.'

It sounds like a ludicrous situation but unfortunately it's a tragic reality.

In the world of "Fate," during the Third Holy Grail War, Angra Mainyu was summoned by the Einzberns family but was quickly defeated due to his weak strength.

After the defeat, Angra Mainyu, bearing 'All the Evils of the World,' was absorbed by the Greater Grail.

Trouble ensued as the originally 'colorless' Holy Grail, after absorbing Angra Mainyu, became contaminated, with the magical power inside the Greater Holy Grail transforming into 'All the Evils of the World.'

Consequently, the fourth and fifth Holy Grail Wars were significantly affected by it.

Now, Ethan is in a similar situation as that unfortunate boy.

However, he has not undergone torment or death, but he has genuinely shouldered the burden of 'All the Evils of the World.'

After merging with 'All the Evils of the World,' Ethan is no longer a 'normal human.'

It's somewhat similar to Gilgamesh in "Fate/Stay Night," but not quite right.

His body has been strengthened and reshaped by 'All the Evils of the World,' not a mere 'black mud' incarnation, possibly because he is not a Servant.

Nevertheless, this transformation has granted Ethan physical enhancement, and his resilience is comparable to the monsters in the underground dungeon.

In addition, after the baptism of 'All the Evils of the World,' Ethan has gained a constitution similar to 'rapid regeneration.'

As long as he doesn't die, even severed limbs can be restored.

And the cost of all this is 'magic power/mana,' much like the monsters in the underground dungeon.

For ordinary people who cannot absorb it, magic stones are used as 'fuel.'

However, for Ethan, it has become a kind of 'battery,' and he can easily absorb the magic power within it.

This also makes Ethan very puzzled about whether he can still be considered a 'human' now.

Therefore, even though Ethan is in the labyrinth city of Orario, a gathering place for gods, he dares not seek any 'god.'

In case he is regarded as a 'reincarnation of an evil god' or a 'daemon' chosen by an evil god, he might be killed, or worse, brought out for judgment.

As for seeking an 'evil god,' that is even more impractical.

Although this is Orario, meeting a 'god' is not something that happens casually, let alone notorious 'evil gods.'

Moreover, the followers of 'evil gods' are mostly from Evilus, and among these guys, they are all outlaws and desperados, who don't know when they might die.

In the end, Ethan chose the most 'prudent' approach.

That is, not to seek any 'god' or join any 'Familia' but to rely on his own 'golden finger' for gradual improvement.

Although the card pool has only one entry - "Fate/Type-Moon," it contains countless good things.

So, Ethan worked hard for half a month, experiencing several 'single draws' failures in the first few days, and then choosing a 'ten consecutive draws' guarantee.

Although the card pool itself does not have guarantees, as someone who has played countless 'card' and 'gacha' games, for Ethan, 'single draw' is a matter of faith, and 'ten consecutive draws' is a guarantee.

The rules of [Card Drawing System] are simple: one draw costs 10 diamonds, and 100 diamonds can be used for ten draws.

There are no guarantees, no probabilities; it mainly relies on 'luck,' or rather, 'destiny.'

Ethan is very nervous as he looks at the card-drawing interface of the system.

After all, whether he becomes a 'lucky star' or a 'unlucky star,' it all depends on this draw.

If luck is on his side, he'll soar as a 'lucky star'; otherwise, he'll have to grind for another ten days as a 'unlucky star.'
