3 Chapter 3: Noctis’s Familia

Noctis has been waiting in the room for three hours. It was not that big a deal to him especially since there was water and food here. Surprisingly so far he was not thirsty for blood and he hoped that would not change. It would be bad if he had to feed off his Familia or go around the city trying to find low life's.

Noctis then heard a lot of commotion outside. He peaked his head out the door and saw the Goddess he was looking for an also the captain of their Familia. The Goddess was yelling at Merigold because whatever she was promised was clearly not there. Noctis looked back at the captain to see he was staring at Noctis now. He then saw the captain tap his Goddess and point at him.

Noctis waved and the duo and gestured for them to come over to the room. Noctis then quickly shut the door and sat back down waiting "What could Merigold possibly have told her. What was the reason she came and why did she get so mad when she found out it was something else."

Without even knocking the Goddess swung the door open and sat down across from Noctis along with the captain of her Familia.

Noctis looked at Loki she had her red hair and red eyes. Noctis looked over her and thought she was as flat as a board with nothing but a strip of cloth wrapped around her chest. He then saw her tight leather pants and thought maybe she will at least have a nice ass.

Noctis then turned to Finn to see the short Pallum. While Noctis stood at 6'4". He assumed the short blond blue eyed pallum was around 4 feet flat.

Noctis just smiles and says "Hello Loki. Finn nice to meet the both of you."

Loki's eyes narrow a bit. She was clearly sizing Noctis up. Noctis then decided to look at Finn who had a neutral expression. Noctis could tell however Finn would be ready to kill him at a moments notice. While Finn seemed relaxed he was extremely cautious and slowly looking around the room.

Loki then finally spoke "How did you do that? Merigold would never call me unless a certain item had been acquired by the guild."

Noctis tilted his head an innocently said "Do what?"

Finn in a stern voice said "Don't play games."

Noctis didn't even give him the time of day as he just kept staring at the Goddess. Noctis knew Finn wouldn't do anything without Loki's approval. Both because Finn wouldn't do anything so rash without her approval. Plus he had his whole hero of Orario thing going on. Finn was someone who would not risk anything that had to do with his Familia.

Loki sighed her divinity making her need the answer so bad. She felt tricked an in a way that she could not understand. "How were you able to make someone lie to me with me believing they were telling the truth. I can see through all lies and tricks yet when that Merigold girl came to me I believed her."

Noctis smiled "That's some of my magic. She truly believed what she was telling you down to her very soul was the truth. So when you peered into her seeing if she was lying or not it would not appear as if she was."

Loki sighed "Well you got me here kid. While you did not trick me directly you did still trick me. So what stops me from telling Finn here to kill you."

Noctis smiled widened "I do not think you are so rash. Plus I doubt you would do that while inside the guilt. Also I want to join your Familia."

Loki knowing he wasn't lying pondered for a moment. 'What could he possibly be thinking. I'm not looking for new members right now. I'm sure he knows that. He probably knows how big of a risk he is taking. That only means he thinks he is so valuable that I would make a deal just to have him.'

Noctis finally looked at Finn to see he was still neutral. Thinking but neutral. Noctis knew every move he made was under the eyes of both Finn and Loki. Any kind of tells or projected movements to them were on full display. Both looking for any kind of glimpse as to what I might do or say next.

Loki narrowed her eyes she was not acting as the care free Goddess Noctis thought of in the anime. She was all about business right now.

Loki kept neutral "Okay kid how could you possibly help me when I have the best team and Familia in Orario."

Noctis thought for a moment 'Not wrong on best team but I think Freya would beat her when it comes to best Familia.'

Noctis sighed "Well because my abilities and potential. I'm asking you to take a bet on the future me. Plus in an all out war I think the Freya Familia would beat the Loki Familia. However a war between the top two is unlikely as it might throw Orario into chaos."

Loki still having a neutral face asked "What can you do besides apparently make people lie for you?"

Noctis was at a forked road right now. Would he try to trick the trickster Goddess or be completely up front about his abilities. He was not confident enough to be able to completely trick her.

Noctis pondered for a moment on all the possible things he could say along with their outcomes "When it comes to my abilities you will have to find that out once you give me Falna. However I do have one ability that I know for a fact I have that you would be interested in."

It was better to play his trump card in this kind of situation.

Loki nodded "Okay then say it."

Noctis frowned "For a moment I need your word as a Goddess that you will not kill me the instant I tell you. I don't think you will because I'm sure once I tell you. You can think of so many ways for me to help your Familia."

Loki nodded "Okay I will do what mortals try to do and keep an open mind also before you tell me. Why do you want to join my Familia?"

Noctis smiled "I figured yours was the best choice for the support I need so that I can clear the dungeon."

Loki then nodded figuring that was the answer. Not many adventurers actually wanted to clear the dungeon. Most just want fame and glory but many people she let in wanted either strength or to clear it like Ais and this man wanted both. He clearly wanted to both clear the dungeon and become the strongest. Loki then gestured for Noctis to continue.

Noctis then sighed "Well one of my abilities is to read souls."

Noctis focused on his eyes as he then peered into both the souls of Loki and Finn.

Finn surprisingly stayed neutral. Noctis looked at his soul and did see the surprise but he could tell he was still waiting for Loki's orders. When Noctis looked back at Loki he saw her soul ablazed a kin to how a girl feels when she gets walked in on when in the bathroom. However it then settled luckily for Noctis he then saw the soul having an unwavering passion thinking of possibilities.

Loki's then in a sweet threatening voice said "Stop it right now."

Noctis chuckled "Done. I figured you would only believe me if I actually preformed the act. I know it's like viewing you naked so I am sorry about that. Although I now know that you are interested."

Loki could tell he was not lying so she relaxed a bit. Loki sighed "Fuck. Okay let's get going to Twilight Manor."

Both Finn and Noctis were shocked they both said "Wait that's it."

Loki looked at both of them "Finn if he is lying about his powers we can just kill him at Twilight Manor. If not then we have a new useful member. After all someone to see the souls of even the Gods is special in his own way. Many would want him killed on the spot. Showing me this at all was a big risk."

Loki clearly weighed the pros and cons and figured no matter the cons they could just kill Noctis and be done with it. After all even after Falna he would only be a level one.

All three left the room after that. Noctis was following behind Loki and Finn was watching Noctis carefully behind him. Noctis then waved to Merigold who was confused as to why Loki and Finn were walking with Noctis. The three started to make their way to Twilight Manor.

(A/N Just a heads up before anyone says this is cliche pretty much every Familia that is a stable choice is cliche at this point. Loki, Hephaestus, Hestia, an a couple others are cliche I just hope everyone continues reading for the differences in the future.)
