1 Chapter 1 - Leaving Heaven

"I can go now, right? RIGHT?!" A tall man of around 3 meters said as he looked at the woman sitting opposite of him.

He had muscled body that seemed to be sculpted to perfect. His long golden hair and golden eyes seemed to be shining in the bright space, he wore a tight black tight-fitting T-shirt.

[A/N: Take Riki from The Great Mage Returns 4000 Years Later as example without the top sleeve, it's the only close example I could find that matched pretty close in clothing]

"And here I thought we had built a bond together, how heartbreaking! I even let you inherit my power....." A woman with skin white as snow and long blond hair reaching her legs said with a teasing smile.

Her red eyes perfectly matching her red lipstick which made her even more alluring, but the man didn't seem to want any of that.

[A/N: A picture I found on the internet that matched closely]

"10.000 years! You asked me to help you for 10.000 years! No, not 'ask me', you forced me!" The man said coldly.

"Aahh come on Laurens, you know I had my own reasons...." The woman smiled bitterly as she looked at the 3 meter tall man.

"....Yes, I know. But you forced me to inherit your power and go down the mortal world as a half human/half god..... To let my body get used to Divinity I went through endless emptiness so I can't say I don't blame you since you were the person that ended my fate in my old world just because my body was compatible...." The tall man sighed and scratched his neck.

"I wanted to wait until your mortal lifespan ended but I had no choice either..... your body has completely merged with Divinity, yet you still have your mortal body once you seal it so you can atleast live an extra long life in . Fate is one of the strongest Divinity's yet you still won't be able to use it freely without the Laws punish you in the Mortal World." The woman explained which made Laurens sigh in annoyance.

"Can I go now? I'm getting sick and tired of just looking at those dumbasses from a distance" Laurens asked, it had been 10.000 years and spectating these so-called 'gods' just made him annoyed at how boring Heaven/Tenkai was....

"Mhm, be careful, even you can die" The woman winked and stretched out her hand and a gentle aura made Laurens slowly become less visible.

"Have funnn....!" The woman smiled and laughed which made Laurens just look at her with a cold look and say,

"Don't die on me, I still have to pay you back for having me deal with all that paperwork"

"Aahhh, atleast you will miss me for some reason, although not the best one" The woman teased once more.

"Goodbye, Iris" Laurens helplessly smiled and held his head, holding a grudge for 10.000 years wasn't something he could do if she never really hurt him anyway, she technically did kill him, but his life would be short anyway by the way he was on the front lines all the time.

"Aaah! I did let your past life experiences be able to awaken skills and abilities but don't expect much since those were experiences you had before you received a Falna" Iris said with a melancholic smile as she started reminiscing.

"I know, but when will you descend?" Laurens quickly asked as he noticed his hands had become see-through.

"3 years, I will finish up everything in 3 years and I will retire from my position" Iris smiled gently, they had spent 10.000 years together, although for her it wasn't extremely long, it was still something she had never spent with anyone besides Laurens.

"Once more, have fun Laurens. I'm curious as to where you will be 3 years from now...."

[A/N: I wanted to keep it short regarding reincarnation since it's a standard in every Fanfic and I'd rather write the story itself, simple explanation: He died in his sleep due to Iris to inherit her power, but his life was just wars anyway since he was a Special Forces member, in Tenkai he had to slowly get used to her Divinity but doing nothing for 10.000 years is nothing short of torture for someone who had an original lifespan of 100 years.]

***

"Although I know I sealed all the useless memories of Tenkai, it still feels weird" Laurens was currently flying in the air above Orario, a standard procedure every God/Goddess went through once they descended and Laurens could feel his Divinity being locked.

He decided to seal most memories of Tenkai so he didn't get affected by the long time he had spent up there and could properly live inbetween the various races, it would be a pain to deal with something that could be easily avoided.

'It feels as if I died only a few years ago at most, is this why Iris also suggested to lock my memories? It's quite convenient but also unnecessary since I've never forgotten how Earth was, still, the information I sealed was just wasted years of spectating useless Gods/Goddesses to see if they were trying hurt her. Nothing was important so I might aswell make it more convenient for myself" Laurens smiled as he closed his eyes and enjoyed the breeze.

As Laurens' body was falling from the sky, his body's shape started to change from the original 3 meters to 1.89 meter, the height he had when he was 18 years old. Except his height, nothing changed since this was his human body but with Divinity that was locked.

'Since this is still my human body, I should be able to get a Status Board according to Iris. I'm finally free from that boredom'

A smile crept onto Laurens' face as his body slowly started flying into the air and descending towards the empty streets.

It was already getting dark outside so it wasn't really that busy since most people would be inside the Dungeon until dark.

'So that's the tower?' Laurens got closer and closer to the ground and couldn't help but marvel at the huge tower that touched the clouds.

He had seen a lot of amazing places in Heaven but that was the realm of gods, this was a place where mortals lived like on Earth.

Besides, those places were merely seen through his Divinity instead of physically so it was rather lackluster and still felt very fake.

As Laurens descended onto the ground between the medieval houses, his golden eyes lost most of their light and only their natural color remained.

He felt as if a door was closed towards his Divinity which made him grab his necklace.

'I hope she told the truth otherwise I will need to get Hephaestus to make me a weapon' Laurens walked through some alleys before arriving at a busy street.

As Laurens walked through the busy street, he couldn't help but look at the different kinds of people walking the streets.

People that had ears from wolves, cats, dogs and even elves.

For Laurens, who originally came from Earth and spent most of his time reading Manga or reading Novels in his free time between missions, it was amazing to see such a view in reality.

Laurens just smiled as he walked through the streets and took in the atmosphere, it was.... different.

In Heaven, he could only use his Divinity to watch other Gods from a distance since they would be able to feel the Divinity of Fate if he met them face-to-face.

'A God/Goddess with a normal character would be the best choice, one that is not power hungry or uses their Familia as pawns that can be replaced..... Demetres or Hestia seem like the best choice, but Hestia will get dragged into a lot of problems due to Bell, although.... I doubt I will go unnoticed for long anyway, I guess I will just ask the Guild who is recruiting and see from there' Laurens shook his head and looked around before looking at a male street vendor.

"Hello, could you tell me where the Guild is?" Laurens had a small smile on his face as he asked a middle-aged street vendor who smiled in response and kindly responded,

"If you walk towards the end of this road, you will see the sign on the right side of the street"

"Thanks" Laurens smiled and walked towards the end of the road, leaving the street vendor quite perplexed how someone who wasn't a hunter could get such a body without an increase in stats.

Laurens only walked for a short time before seeing the Guild board hanging outside a huge building near the dungeon entrance.

As Laurens walked towards the desk, he was welcomed by a woman with cat ears and long red hair that ran down her back. What was quite funny was that despite golden eyes being extremely rare, she had golden eyes just as he had.

Seeing as she was dressed in the Guild uniform as well, he looked at her Guild Badge and saw the name 'Rose Fannett'.

"How can I help you?" Rose asked with neither a cold nor warm voice.

"I would like to ask which Familia is recruiting" Laurens said with a calm smile.

Rose checked the man out which wasn't due to interest despite his handsome looks but due to the requirements for each new Familia member that wanted to join although he did look amazing and had a body normally nobody would have without having trained since young.

To her, all adventurers were the same. They would die soon anyway, the mortality rate of adventurers in the first 10 years was 73% for a reason, she didn't want to grow close to one and be hurt once more.

That was also the reason why there were more women in Orario then men since most adventurers were men.

"Currently only 3 Familia are recruiting where you fulfill requirements are the Aphrodite Familia, Hestia Familia and Apollo Familia" Rose calmly explained but her brows soon furrowed and continued,

"You should wait a month or so, normally there are more Families recruiting. Those 3 Familia's are not fitting for you"

Seeing Rose explain her thoughts so openly despite her cold appearance made Laurens smile and asked, "Thanks but could you tell me what's wrong with those Familia's? And isn't Demeter recruiting members aswell?"

"The Demeter Familia is indeed recruiting but they don't go into Dungeon's much, they are a farming Familia" Rose explained and showed a picture of the Demeter page in the Guild book as if to proof her point.

"Mmm, not really fitting for me to join them then. Although I won't be going full force into dungeon and just do it at a steady pace, a Familia that at least has the mindset for the Dungeon would be appreciated" Laurens explained which made Rose's eyebrow raise and give him a weird look.

"Something wrong?" Laurens asked after noticing her weird gaze.

"Nothing" Rose shook her head and looked into the book with the same cold expression.

"I don't bite, tell me what's wrong" Laurens teased which made Rose look at him with a sceptic expression.

"Oi, what do you take me for?"

A small smile appeared on Rose's face, but it quickly disappeared and she explained, "Normally when adventurers come here, they are all going crazy like 'I will become the strongest, a hero, a rich man/woman, etc' It's rare to see someone that actually thinks about taking it easy in the Dungeon"

"I never said I would take it easy, I just won't be an idiot and rush into dangerous situations if they are unnecessary. Besides, life is not just about getting stronger, right?" Laurens spread his hands with a smile on his face which made Rose's impression of him slightly improve, but she still wore the same cold expression.

"You're right, staying alive is more important. Why I don't recommend you joining any Familia of these 3 is simple, Apollo is greedy, Aphrodite only searches for handsome men or pretty women to join or trick her into her Familia and the Hestia Familia only has 1 member" Rose explained.

"Should I take it as a compliment that you called me handsome?" Laurens teased as he leaned forward to look at the Guild book.

Rose remained stoic but Laurens could tell she was atleast slightly embarrassed by what he said since she didn't respond, after all, she was just a normal woman that remained pure from love due to her work and her constant rejections of Adventurers' love.

She didn't want to fall in love and get hurt over and over again, the deaths of the adventurers had made her have a tough personality and considered those adventurers that went into the tower with big dreams and greed idiots since their greed for power or money would be their downfall 95% of the time.

"I will join the Hestia Familia then, could you tell me where I can find them?" Laurens looked at the book and remembered Hestia's behavior in the Anime and the time he spent in Heaven and observing from afar.

"Are you sure you want to join her Familia? She only has one Familia Member, there might be better Familia's that are interested since your body is extremely suitable for an adventurer" Rose tried to change Laurens' thoughts, but Laurens merely smiled at her.

"Fine..... Take this with you as well. Read it before you go into the Dungeon" Rose handed Laurens a map and a book that said 'Monster encyclopedia'.

"Thanks, I owe you one" Laurens smiled and walked out.

Rose sighed as she saw Laurens walk out of the Guild. Suddenly, a Pink-haired girl appeared out of nowhere and stared at Rose with an innocent yet curious expression.

"Rose, why did you give him your own encyclopedia?" The pink-haired girl excitedly skipped over to Rose and curiously looked at her.

"Not your business Misha" Rose coldly replied to Misha who came skipping over.

"Aahh~, come on... tell me, is our Rose finally falling in love??" Misha asked with a teasing smile which made Rose give her a death glare before she calmed herself down and answered,

"Do you think Goddess Hestia has enough information about the Dungeon to keep her Familia safe? If you want to satisfy your curiosity you should ask Eina and her relationship to the other kid from the Hestia Familia"

"Ah?! Really?! Einaa...!" Misha's ears perked up and her eyes started shining before sprinting away towards Eina.

Rose looked towards the exit of the Guild and sighed once more....
