In the same alley located in the Orario slums, the young man in his early twenties was staring intently ahead. If anyone could see him now, they might think he had a malfunctioning head and call him crazy because this man was gazing intensely into nothing in front of him. However, from his perspective, it was an entirely different story.
Lucius was looking at an illuminated screen in front of him and began to read with enthusiasm.

He started studying the screen. First, he clicked on notifications, and another screen opened on top of the initial one, like a computer program.

"Great, points!" Lucius exclaimed happily as he saw the screen showing the number of added points, even though he didn't yet know if this amount was good or bad.
Closing the screen, he went to the next option.
He clicked on [Missions(1)] to see what task was available to him.

He was surprised to see the Firebolt spell appear since he didn't know which spell came with the grimoire. This meant that he learned the exact same spell Bell was supposed to learn. It was quite strange because grimoires give users different spells depending on the person reading it. Learning the exact same spell as Bell was surprising.
"Anyway, it's very useful. I remember that Bell cleaned the early floors with this spell after learning it, he only stopped because he went into Mind Zero state, which I don't need to worry about," Lucius mumbled with a lot of expectation.
Now, turning his thoughts back to the mission screen.
"It may seem like a huge number of Firebolts, but the reward is very useful. Casting without shouting 'Firebolt' like Bell did in the anime is much, much better and faster. This is a mission I have to complete!"
Since it is very useful, casting infinitely without the time-consuming Firebolt chant would give him the power to overcome even a level 2 or maybe even a level 3 adventurer, if the opponent is within his range and not fast enough to dodge the endless fireballs, even if Lucius is still level 1.
"Hehe," he laughed happily.
Closing the mission screen and moving to the next, he now clicked on [Spell Shop].
A huge list appeared before him, of spells Lucius could purchase.
His eyes widened at what he was seeing.

[Rules: You can buy any spell as long as you have enough points, except for rank 5. However, you may not be able to use the spell if your magic pool cannot normally execute it. For example, if you have a rank 3 spell that would cost 3000 magic points and have magic level parameters of level 1 with 500 points, it will be useless until you have enough magic, as the system only negates the amount of mental energy spent, it doesn't mean you would gain the energy to cast all the spells.]
As Lucius looked at the list, time passed, and he didn't notice it had been an hour. He was captivated by all the spells in front of him, and his excitement reached its peak as he imagined what he could do with so many powerful spells.
"It's a shame to find out that my initial 10,000 points can't do much, but I'd like to earn points as quickly as possible and become overpowered," Lucius said with anticipation.
Reading the store rules at the end of the screen, he found out that he could buy everything he could at once, and for every purchase, a grimoire would appear in front of him for each designated spell. This was an advantage, as he could buy one spell from each item on the list and even distribute the spells to others if they weren't suitable, as an option if Lucius wanted to help an ally.
Among them was Firebolt, a rank 2 spell. Honestly, even though the grimoires present spells differently to each person, there are still classification levels for the grimoires, and Lucius deep down expected more from Freya. He thought she might give him higher-ranked spellbooks, but that didn't seem to be the case.
He discarded that thought after a few seconds, believing that Firebolt was perfect for Bell, who had no magic until now and needed a fast-casting spell.
Lucius was happy to have this system now, and it made him remember how he managed to complete his mission, which came at the expense of another person. In short, he stole an item that didn't belong to him, which left a bitter taste in his mouth. He wasn't perfect, and he didn't consider himself a good person, but he had his own morals and only reached a point where he stole the grimoire from the naive Bell because he had no other choice.
"But still, it was worth it in the end," he said calmly.
During the week he spent on the street, doing odd jobs here and there to make ends meet and eat, he could have gone to Hestia or even asked for food at the Hostess of Fertility. He knew Hestia had a kind heart and would provide him with a place to sleep, and Mia Grand wouldn't let him go hungry, even if Lucius had no money. However, by doing something like that, he would lose his mission if he interacted with any Gods, Hestia directly and Freya indirectly through Syr when he went to the famous pub.
Going to the dungeon was also an option to obtain stones, as he still retained his level 1 strength until his death, but it was impossible to reach the dungeon entrance without bumping into a god. Even in the slums, he was forced to dodge through the streets whenever anyone who seemed like a divine being appeared while he spent his days planning to steal the grimoire.
He was happy to finally see the results, as his week of suffering had paid off when he remembered the difficulties in his memories. Now he was curious about [Status], as he didn't have a Falna at the moment, but the option was still there.
Clicking on this option, the screen appeared.

"Let's see," he thought as he tried to process what he was seeing on the screen. Name and race were okay, but in the information below, he had Falna listed as none because he was expelled. The screen made him wonder if he could still increase his stats through the system without needing Gods to boost him. In a way, this could be much more beneficial, allowing him to evolve in real-time and not be tied to any family to grow.
He thought this way because he didn't want to have to explain all his conditions to a God, or how easily he obtained grimoires, which were extremely rare and expensive objects in this world. He noted that in the next line, it was how people treated him, and the nicknames made him cry. These were most likely given by his old family, and he could understand why. His stats were that of an average adventurer with 2 months of experience in the dungeon, despite obtaining his Falna two years ago. It was frustrating, but the system had blocked his progress for the last 21 years, as it had informed him.
He was the same person in this world, an outgoing and courageous person who once made a half-elf fall in love with him, but over time, he started to doubt himself and feel defeated by the disdain of his former colleagues, whom he once called friends and companions when he joined the family. Even though many of them were still level 1, they were much superior in stats, and they despised Lucius over time.
Most adventurers take 3 to 5 years to move from one level to another, and this difficulty increases with higher levels. However, no one remains at I-level (0-99 points) after 2 years. It was quite frustrating after everything.
Setting aside these thoughts, he went straight to the end of the Status sheet, where he had his Firebolt spell and an ability. Contrary to his expectations of having an infinite mana core, he had the ability to nullify mana/mental energy expenditure, which was more interesting. He understood the last rule on the spell list.
"But this is good in a way. Think of a man in Orario with an infinite mana core. He would be a beacon to the whole world. There's no way to hide something like that!"
With the ability to nullify mana/mental energy expenditure, he could pass as a regular adventurer, as his mental energy would be nothing out of the ordinary based on his magic statistic, which was currently at zero. This ability had only one effect, an effect that could be the most overpowered in this world. No matter how many spells he cast within his magic points, he would never reach Mind Zero, no matter how many spells Lucius could cast. This would break this world when I become powerful enough.
After closing his Status, he thought it was time to settle some pending matters that he could finally address now that his mission was completed. He was free from the restrictions that forced him to avoid any God he came across. He initially planned to go to the dungeon, but there were other matters he needed to address first.
