Part 28

A few more months passed at about this pace. Sakura would come to my house to pick up the pills, and sometimes I would go to Kenshiro house together with Seiko and Miaya to check on his condition, where they were able to get to know each other and to my surprise the girls and Sakura became good friends and they even spent a lot of time with her, according to their stories.

Also, Sakura's muscles started to grow, and she even started to gain height, and also started to grow her snow-white hair, also she had scars on her body from somewhere, as if she had fought wild animals, though why as if, of course she had fought them. She really did take her training seriously.

Of course, all this time was not spent just for nothing and our little team started working more efficiently on the nano bots, because this time we had a visible goal. So, I think in a couple of months before the end of the school year we should be able to finish and start testing. Also in between moments of research, of course, I tried to get home as much as possible, which caused one incident to happen that I can't properly assess.

It all started with me waking up and to my surprise I woke up alone, usually I wake up the very first, but apparently not this time. So, when I started to get dressed, I was missing one important piece of clothing, a shirt. After practically climbing all over the room and inventory, I could not find it, and when I was already despairing, I heard a sound from the door, I turned around and saw ------.

In my shirt. I must say that the damn shirt knew all the right places to lay down and which buttons to stretch in order to make its wearer look the most seductive way, do I really look like that from the outside too, and it seems ------ except for her and panties did not wear anything. At this point, I think I got the will of steel not to snap, after all, I am an ordinary guy and I had my own desires too, but no... she is fourteen... hold on.... Until adulthood. Shit. This is hard to even think about.

To my mute question about why she was wearing it, she replied that she woke up early and since the shirt smelled like me she decided to wear it, which of course was the stupidest excuse I could think of, which of course I believed. Asking her to take it off and give it to me, she began to undress in front of me, to which of course I closed my eyes like a real gentleman, to which I heard only a sigh of disappointment, and then in my hands I received the shirt.

When I heard ------ leave the room I put the shirt on, in order to feel how it all smelled like ------, which I complained to myself in the air. It was only later that I realized that the shirt produced the most attractive smell to people, okay I got a terrible rush of excitement here, but she seemed to honor this smell all the time and because of this I could not calm down properly. Unfortunately for me, I think her plan worked and always when I'm around her my shirt smells like ------.

And right now, it was late at night I, to my regret, instead of pushing nanomachine research further or going home, I was walking from the hospital that the Academy had sent me to. There was some important deputy from abroad and because of some secrecy he couldn't come to the Academy so I had to treat him in the hospital. I didn't mind much, of course, since an eight-figure sum came into my account, but I would have survived her absence.

Tomorrow was supposed to be a day off so I decided to take a few hours for a walk. So to speak, to remember the old days when I was still in elementary school and would come home late at night, and sometimes just for the soul it was nice to take a walk at night. The noise of the city at night, the stars, the moon, the wind that musses my hair, divine.

I would have kept standing like this if the sound of motorcycles hadn't brought me out of this little hypnosis.

It was a long road so I could see the two bikers or gang members, judging by their white capes, maneuvering between cars at full speed, until the guy behind stopped being careful, which made him overly reckless and he drove right into a truck. There was certainly a chance to get out of it, but it looked like the guy was shocked and couldn't do anything.

But someone else was able to do something, namely another biker. Either he was more experienced at it or he was concentrated the whole time, but he was able to notice his friend's condition before it happened and a few seconds before he started to stop to get in line with the laggard and push him out of the way of the truck and ended up getting under it himself. Damn, and that could have been the new main character of the isekai.

But no matter what, the first biker almost at full speed hit the truck, so he flew away for a few dozen meters. When the second biker realized what had happened, he started to stop and then he turned around to leave his bike halfway and ran towards the first biker as fast as he could. Despite the late hour, there were a lot of people around so people were already starting to gather around this scene.

As heroic and heartwarming as it was, it wasn't the first time a biker had been hit by a car. Even I sometimes operated on bikers in critical condition, so this was all, as sad as it sounds, a natural occurrence. But even with all that, and their stupidity. I was already running toward the place and was practically right next to them.

After pushing the crowd apart, I saw a touching scene where the second biker was holding the first one in his arms. I think there was a moment here where he was supposed to say his last words and die, but unfortunately for him, cool dying words don't work in my presence.

After pushing the second biker away from the first one, I put the first one on the ground so he wouldn't choke on his blood just in case and injected him with a horse dose of adrenaline, which I got from the inventory, and after that I threw a couple dozen pills in his mouth and induced a swallowing reflex. The first biker's eyes widened in surprise at what had just happened.

"Don't look here." - I said and showed him my adamantium scalpel. "Turn around and think of a pony."

To this he only tried to squeeze out a nod and turned away to look at the other biker.

"What are you looking at?" - I turned to the second biker as I began to make the first cut. "Call an ambulance. I can't do a full operation here."

"Y-yes." - he hesitated and jumped up, then started looking around. "Phone. Somebody give me a fucking phone."

I didn't pay attention to what was happening next and tried to further stabilize the first biker in some way. I don't know how much time passed between the arrival of the ambulance, but I had already managed to get some bone fragments out of his lungs, get the blood out of there and already stitched up, and started on other organs. It's a good thing I have most of the stuff for surgery in my inventory. And already at this point there were red and blue blinkers all around.

I would have continued to clean up the biker, but some very wise doctor decided that he knew more than me and grabbed my shoulder in order to push me away, and having already felt the biker begin to pull me away, out of the corner of my eye I noticed the second biker abruptly approach me and hit me somewhere behind the back. I'm not sure what happened there, but my grip loosened, or, more accurately, disappeared completely.

"Help. Stop looking at the concrete." - I appealed to the ambulance staff. "And just try to do anything without my instructions."

It didn't take that long to get the first biker into the car; fortunately for me, the call didn't exactly involve retards. So it wasn't a minute later that we were in the ambulance at full speed, and the second biker was sitting in the corner of the car, watching me tensely.

Also, the ambulance driver turned out to be an experienced guy and we arrived at the hospital with incredible speed, and afterwards we drove to the operating room, where without any objection I became the head doctor. On the way I looked around to understand the situation, as my condition was no longer so critical. However, I did not find out anything interesting. The hospital to which I had arrived was completely unfamiliar to me, and the second biker was left waiting outside the operating room.

To the shock of all the doctors in the room, I completed the surgery in an incredibly short time and without even a single mistake. Which was normal for me, but I think it is also normal for other doctors not to make mistakes. So, when I came out of the room covered in blood, I was looked upon as a deity in medicine. I think most of the people in the room understood who I was, so there were no questions for me.

"Wait doctor!!!" - called out to me from the biker, who had already dozed off in his chair, and I hoped I would leave quietly. "Is my brother going to be, okay? Can you get that?"

"Alive and practically healthy." - I answered, as it turns out, to my brother. "But I'm not a magician. Whether or not he recovers will be up to him, and even if he does, I don't think he'll recover to the same state he was. That kind of thing always leaves a mark."

"He's always been incredible so he can recover." - He showed not an ounce of doubt about his brother.

"Is that all?" - Said as he wanted to go home already.

"I have one question left..." - he looked embarrassed somehow. "How much is this going to cost approximately? I don't think a specialist like you would work for free."

"Well..." - I hesitated since I didn't know myself the cost. "Usually, my average check for a treatment is... 15 million yen."

"WHAT?!?!" - he shouted to the entire hallway. "Fifteen... Fifteen million... I don't have... I'll... I'll find it! Give me time. At least a year, I'll figure something out!"

"That's usually the price for being hired to treat me." - I decided to take pity on him, since I really don't need the money. "But this time I decided to help your brother myself, so consider it a second-birthday present for your brother."

"Oh... O-okay." - He didn't play the nobleman and accepted my words. Which made me respect him a little.

"But don't get too comfortable." - I threw him down. "I won't bill you for the surgery, but your brother's going to have to rehab in the hospital. So, you'll still be getting medical bills that I can't influence."

"It's... it's not that bad." - he relaxed.

"Okay." - I said into the air and looked at my watch. "Just be careful next time." - I highlighted exactly his mistake, to which he only clenched his fists tighter and nodded. "I have to go home, because I got held up and didn't warn anyone about it. I think I'm going to be hated for hours yet. I wish your brother a good recovery. Bye."

"Bye." - he said already to my back.

Just as I suspected. When I got home, ------ was pouting at me for not even texting her. But after my explanations and excuses, she was able to forgive me, for a reason, of course, and I would have to go with their girly company to the store and be a porter. In my experience, it wasn't the most expensive price to pay for forgiveness.

(Time Skip.)

A few more months of my senior year had passed and there were only two measly months left before my 77th grade class entered school. But today was significant not because of that, but because the prototype nano-machine vaccine was finally ready. You should have seen all the tension as we built this prototype. After creating and testing all of its basic functions, the girls fell asleep with happy smiles on their faces.

As much as I didn't want to go to test it, I promised them both that I would test it with them. So all I had to do was cover them with a blanket and make myself comfortable in the chair while sending a short message to the group chat with all the people who knew about the vaccine, well except Igarashi-san since he was too old to be in the teenage conversation, so I had to tell Kenshiro that it was ready and that it was being tested. Let him make his father happy.

The very next morning the full group of me, the girls, and Sakura, with whom they came. I should note that Sakura simply couldn't be physically called a girl anymore, as her muscles were already starting to bulge and she was a little bit wider and taller than me.

But anyway, the introduction of nanomachines was welcomed in our small company, which almost immediately after the introduction dispersed, well Sakura kind of stayed, but I'm talking about myself with the girls.

It was stupid to expect such quick results from the prototype, the tracking versions should be more effective of course, but this version had to wait about a month for the first results, and for a full recovery at least 3 years with his body, after which there will still be a recovery period. Did I think about failure? Not a bit. I knew it would work.

(Time Skip.)

And as I suggested, the results were already in after a month. They certainly weren't too great and showed minimal improvement, but the fact that it hadn't gotten worse already proved that it was working. So, the entire medical department had a party with Sakura and the test subject, where the last two people couldn't stop flowing tears. Igarashi-san was also invited, but when I went to see him, he was lying drunk in his office and I didn't dare bother him.

Already after that, another party had been thrown with congratulations to the medical department from all our other friends. So the only thing left is to find more test subjects and improve the vaccine itself, and that requires more funding and connections. And while the academy can provide the former, the academy doesn't have the latter in the right direction, but it can arrange that. So now I was going to Jin-san, and in doing so, I asked them to call Tengan-san to discuss the matter.

And they didn't let me down and were able to help me with it. At first, of course, there was a lot of praise about everything, but afterwards they already said that they would organize a conference for me, where I could present nanomachines and there I could find more finances and people. Also, I won't treat the academy the way I used to, and I can't stay here without a good reason, to this they both promised to think about keeping me, of course no one will mind, but they think they will show too much favoritism on one me, so we need to smooth the edges. Said they'll think of something to do about it.

After thanking them and walking out of the office, I went to the lab to think, as strange as those sounds. This was the first time I had a free month where I wouldn't have to do anything. Since right at the beginning of the school year for a week I will go to a conference, and alone, because ------ will have a fashion show like {} or something.

Walking into the lab, I was amazed at the silence that was here for the first time in a year. Satsuki and Miaya went shopping with Sakura or something. That trio is actively studying for exams and trying to help everyone else, yeah... If you think about it, I was practically absent from class and I had practically forgotten everyone I studied with and even forgot about exams, which shouldn't be a problem for me, if I pass them of course.

I sat down in a chair in my office, where I didn't see a lot of people, and tensely, I exhaled. It would be just under a month before the 77th grade would enter the school. I won't see them enter because of the conference, of course, but Mikan, who is an "Ultimate Nurse", will be there, so I'll get to know the class somehow.

I also think the most significant change was my personality. Since I'm more Yasuke Matsuda than I was before I was reborn. It could certainly be put down to the system that it changed me, but I don't think so. It's more likely that it's already dead as a person, I've long since gone beyond the character and will of what the past me once dreamed of. I have already lived a different life with new people and have forgotten what was in the past and most of the names. Is that a bad thing? No, I don't think so...since he's really dead. And better instead of crying and being sad about it, but to make a foundation out of his life that will allow me to move on upward and that won't let me fall where I shouldn't fall.

After that, I was surprisingly relieved, as if the weight that was on my back just went away and let me level my back to the fullest. But in spite of that.... Some vise still enveloped my heart. Canon. What do I do with it. I can't do anything against ------ and I can't let it do what it did, if of course it will...but has anything changed. I remember reading that she wasn't crazy, that her mind was completely healthy, but her world looked different to all people. In her despair, she didn't see something bad, but rather something better for the world and just wanted to share it with people. Damn... how hard is it to know the future. Okay... I guess if I see even a hint of this or any of that in canon, I'll try to stop her... the only question is how.

(Time Skip.)

I woke up, as usual, without any slowdowns and felt just fine. The system has its perks, even though the amount of alcohol I drank made me feel great. The occasion? I stopped being a high school student, which meant that I finally graduated from high school, not me alone of course, but together with my classmates and friends who had just graduated from high school, not all of course... some, but they were happy for us. So, it made sense to celebrate like this.

I got up from the bed, and to my surprise, I looked around the room all alone, but my gaze unknowingly went to the wall, which had a lot of pictures added to it. Sakura and Kenshiro, Byakuya, Miaya and Seiko. They all added to the empty space next to the other pictures, which made me feel warm.

As I neatly left the room, I looked around to see the pile of trash that I would have to clean up today. ------ with the other girls had fallen asleep on the bed in poses that normal people don't sleep in, with a significant number of beer cans around that bed. When I shut the door quietly, I left the room and out of the corner of my eye I saw ------ lift her eyes to look at me.

It was about the same in the other rooms, only the number of girls could vary. The strangest thing was that there wasn't a single guy, but all questions disappeared after I went down to the first floor and saw the main room, which had practically all the guys eating as they fit on the couch and sleeping on top of each other. The funniest one was Byakuya who, cuddled up with Fuyuhiko and both of them didn't look their best, though the best looking of everyone in this house was me.

Looking at them again, I thought about taking a couple of pictures for the sake of compromise and blackmail in the future, but what kind of friend would I be if I did that to them.

"Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap" "Snap"

That's right. I'd be a bad friend if I didn't do that to them. Walking out of the room secretly laughing to myself and looking at the pictures, I walked out into the kitchen where the remaining guy I hadn't found was.

"Good morning Kyosuke." - I said hello to the guy who didn't look his best.

"Yeah." - He said through his palm.

After looking at him, I realized that he had to go abroad tomorrow. Of course, with a meeting like this, we couldn't discuss the latest news that had happened to everyone. Kyosuke was sent overseas to set up the new branch of Hope Peak there, I guess the fact that he was involved in setting up the reserve course somehow managed to influence him to be the one to go.

To my surprise, Juzo and Chisa showed their willingness to work at the academy, Juzo seemed to have already been accepted as head of security, but Chisa wouldn't go until tomorrow to discuss it. It was weird because it seemed like they were talking about something and just didn't want me to get involved, so I just wish them luck.

Just like in canon, Kuzuryu and Peko got an invitation to enroll which made me happy for them, they did look happy, but while Fuyuhiko is happy that he's going to the academy, Peko seems to be happy that he's going with Fuyuhiko. Natsumi, of course, couldn't just let it go and that's why she enrolled in the Reserve Course to keep up with the rest of us too. So yeah, I just had to congratulate them.

Also, we shouldn't forget our sick ones, and to be exact, just one Kenshiro who was feeling a little better, but it was still contraindicated to get out of bed, so we just brought him a couple of food items and a can of beer hidden between them. All of this slowly flowed through my mind as I stood and made an extensive breakfast.

"How do you do it?" - came Kyosuke pained voice.

"What do you mean?" - I didn't understand.

"You're standing. You drank more than all of us, but you look like nothing happened." - He was just indignant.

"Ohhhh." - I realized. "Genetics. I just got lucky."

"~~~~," he muttered something to himself.

After about an hour or so of this conversation, the rest of the people started to come down to the smell of food. After feeding them all and nursing them back to health so they wouldn't all die, they left my house to recover a little, some went swimming in the pool, some continued playing again, and some pounced on the food again. I, on the other hand, started cleaning the house with Chisa and ------, and the others offered to help as well, but I am the owner, aren't I Chisa? And Chisa just can't be talked out of cleaning. About the time I was cleaning, I got a message on my phone.

[Yasuke. Come back tomorrow. We've worked something out.]

After reading the message from Jin-san and realizing that I had things to do tomorrow, I started cleaning more actively in order to get some rest, since I don't think they came up with anything easy.

(Skipping time, the next day.)

This was the first time I had been to school on vacation. Usually, I either worked at home or stayed away from rushing out here, after all, I remember I still needed a vacation. But now walking down the deserted hallways I remember the first day I entered this school, it was a good feeling. Standing in front of the principal's office I knocked on the door.

"Come in." - came a voice from behind the door.

"Good morning, Jin-san ... and Koichi-sensei." - I said hello to the two men in the office, with a little look around the office that didn't change one bit

"What kind of sensei am I, you're not in my class anymore, well we'll soon..." - he said in a lazy tone, but.

"Koichi." - Jin-san interrupted him. "Good Yasuke. Have a seat."

I walked over to one of the side chairs and sat down across from Koichi-sensei. And looked at him more closely. His presence confused me the most. Of course, I had gained a crumb of respect for him in all the time he had been my sensei, but how much trouble he had caused me with his laziness. A couple of times I even taught a class in his place.

"So, what did you come up with Jin-san?" - I went straight to the subject I was interested in.

"Ahh." - he breathed. It was obvious that this suggestion was not the easiest. "We've considered many options, but all of them don't suit you or take too long for you to fully release. So Koichi-san was able to offer us an interesting idea."

"No." - I immediately smelled a catch, since I knew what Koichi-san was complaining about the most.

"Yasuke Matsuda." - Fuck. "I'm appointing you assistant to the class teacher of Group 1 of Class 77."

"Kha," I choked on my air, and then I looked at them both with rage. "Are you kidding me?"

"Kahhk." - Koichi growled, or nearly threw up on the floor.

"Kizakura." - Jin-san said, and at the same time lowered his head to the table.

"I apologize. I had a little too much to drink last night." - And I'll be his assistant.

"Yasuke..." - Jin-san gave Koichi time to yawn. "The way you lead... and you know, then Kazakura isn't serious enough, but I don't think you'll have a problem with that, you already have a little experience to lead the class."

"Feel free to treat the class as your own." - Koichi-san said at that, almost dying and raising his hand in support of me.

"I have a conference to go to, in case you haven't forgotten." - I said with desperation and threw my head back in my chair.

"That's okay." - Jumped up to himself in front of Koichi.

"Like I said. It'll only be for a few months, then you'll be replaced by someone else, and it won't be a problem to take you off and say you're sent to punishment, and then you can be free as long as you want. And like Kizakura said, it's no big deal if you're gone for a week." - Jin-san still said calmly.

"I'm willing to be a janitor in the lab!" - I offered the choice, even though I saw the benefit to myself in principle it wasn't so bad.

"I don't think you'd like it." - Jin-san said. "Also, you'll get hands-on experience and you'll have a much easier time getting up to the position of academy director."

"YEEEEEEEEEE!!!" - came a girlish squeal from behind the door.

Then that door almost flew off its hinges, and an orange blur flashed before my eyes, and my head began to fly downward at an indescribable rate and fell into something soft, while my body was lifted with incredible ease.

"Yasuke!" - the girl said and took my cheeks to guide my face toward his. "Why didn't you tell me you were going to be the next director of Hope Peak! This needs to be celebrated! I'm going to tell them all about it now."

"Chisa." - I didn't pull out of her embrace, and looked at her not-so-great condition with bags under her eyes. "I haven't agreed to it yet, I'm just thinking about it and... I don't think you're ready for a second round."

"Hehe." - She giggled and scratched the back of her head. "But you still should have told us about it. We could have helped you somehow."

"I don't think this is the best time to discuss it." - I hesitated. "At least because of the fact that the current headmaster of the academy is around."

"М?" - she didn't understand and looked around the room. "Oh?"

"Oh?" - Jin-san didn't understand.

"I apologize for interrupting your conversation!" - she said, standing at attention and bowing 90 degrees in apology. "And for almost kicking the door in."

Yeah... I guess I'm the only one allowed anywhere near the principal without formality, well among the students and some of the teachers. Sure, it may seem from my side that Jin-san and Tengan-san are ordinary people, but to other people they look like powerful figures whose one word can ruin any life and in truth, they didn't go far from the truth.

"Don't worry Yukizome-san." - He turned to Chisa. "How long have you heard?"

"Recently." - she said, and her face took on a stony expression.

"Since the beginning, you mean?" - I corrected her, which caused her to nod her head vigorously.

"As you heard, Yasuke has been assigned as Kizakura-san assistant, but only for a few months." - he told her briefly. "And because of your references and willingness, we want to offer you to take his place after he is removed from that position, and then after a while you can be transferred to the position of teacher. Before that, of course, you will be assigned to the reserve course as a teacher in order to gain experience."

"AH... AH... I." - she began to stammer.

"Are you okay with that?" - Jin-san immediately asked a determined question.

"Yes, I do!" - she shouted and bowed.

"Good. Then when you replace Yasuke, he'll tell you everything in detail about what to do and how to do it." - He said, looking at me. "Any questions?"

"No!/No." - we answered in sync.

"Then you are free to go. You may go." - He ended the conversation.

"See you later, Jin-san, and see you later, colleague." - I began to get used to the position to which I received only a lazy wave from Koichi along with his slight smile in honor of taking my joke.

"Goodbye Principal Kirigiri and... and to you Kizakura-san." - She said as if she had just noticed Koichi.

Closing the principal's door behind us, we walked a bit away from the door.

"Chisa?" - I turned to the obviously flustered girl.

"Yes?" - she said naively and as if she didn't understand anything.

"Not a word to anyone about me becoming the next principal." - I said hopefully.

"Yes." - she said too short an answer, but I knew there was no point in trying to talk her into silence.

Eventually there was another party in the evening announcing my "appointment," even Kyosuke was communicating with us via video link. That evening I climbed out on the roof of the building, it wasn't very comfortable, but there were places that allowed it. And, as always, no matter where I was, I always had ------ by my side and here she came in a minute later, along with the plaid she had thrown over us and hot cocoa.

I have to go away in a few days, and when I come back, I'll take a direct part in the canon... I'm worried.
