PROLOGUE

She just stood there for a while as her gaze swept over the unconscious figure of a man that lay connected by various tubes to different parts of a machine in the hospital room. A slow sinister smile carved on her lips as she took in the final last living view of the man. "Now I'm going to enjoy getting rid of you. Finally the list will be complete! ", she said in a menacing tone while lifting up the sword in her hands to strike the man on the bed.

It was immediately stopped, the instant she lowered it, by another sword beneath the weight of her own. She tilted her head upwards and was met with another figure dressed in black. She could very well tell that he was smiling and was amused to meet her again so soon from the look in his eyes. He winked at her and swiftly pushed her sword over which made her eyes spark in annoyance and anger. He smiled again underneath the mask as he muttered, "Miss me?".

She got even more infuriated by his words and attacked him as she snarled, "Why won't you just die and leave me the f*ck alone !!!". They had already started fighting by then as he replied, "Feel free to kill me anytime, but on your own this time around. I won't let anyone come near me or touch me, unless it's you of course", he said as he winked again.

After some time, he managed to get rid of her sword and cornered her against the wall, far enough from the unconscious man. He stared at her with his sword against her throat while she tried to think of a way to get out of her current situation. He was simply mesmerized. She always seemed to look a different kind of beautiful every time he looked at her. However, looking at her up close the way they were made him rooted on the spot in awe.

"You know you look really beautiful up close like this", he commented in a deep husky voice as he stared admiringly at her without making even the slightest attempt to mask his feelings. He simply couldn't get enough of her. He loved the look of danger in her eyes and even found the aggression she showed towards him cute. At this point, he thought he was going crazy, and that he was probably psycho too. Psycho...for her.

She felt her face heat up at his words and didn't dare to look him in the eyes. He wasn't his usual teasing self anymore. She couldn't look him in the eyes, she just couldn't... because she was scared, scared of the possible sincerety in those eyes. She wasn't going to get lost in his eyes again...not again!, she thought as she snapped out of it.

Once she regained her composure, she gave him a wicked grin and took advantage of the situation by switching their positions. This time, she had her sword against his throat. She smiled deviously as she asked in a mocking tone, "How much prettier do I look now?" "Gorgeous", he replied without batting an eyelid. She moved the sword closer to his neck as she cocked an eyebrow and asked again, "And now?". "Simply breathtaking", he replied once more. She got really irritated because for some reason his responses seemed to faze her.

"You know your life lies in my hands right? I can kill you right here and now if I want to", she said as she pushed the sword so close to his neck that any slight movement could make him bleed. This time around his expression changed. The softness in his eyes was immediately replaced with a devilish look as he smirked, "I dare you".

She'd really lost her cool now and was filled with nothing but rage. She'd never lost to a dare before, not even the worst ones. 'So why on earth do I keep on stalling!', she thought frustrated. Anyone else in his shoes would've been dead by now. The sound of sirens approaching broke her trail of thoughts as she realized that the police were already on their way over. She quickly retracted the sword from his throat and walked towards the nearest window, which she broke in one swift motion. She turned slightly to see the transfixed guy that decided not to move and was still in the exact position she left him. "I hate easy wins", she uttered coldly and abruptly before jumping out through the window on the 15th floor they were in.....
