1 1. Daisy Darrel

"Daisy, can you go out and fetch me house rations from the family store?" A beautiful middle-aged woman asked, as she sat on a swinging chair with a month-old baby in her arms.

An exceptionally beautiful young girl holding a book, hurriedly reached her mother Nina with a charismatic smile, saying "Yes, mom. I will go right away." 

The young lady was Daisy Darryl, an 18-year-old mortal residing in an ordinary home with her family of four, comprising her parents and a new-born brother. 

Daisy is an exceptionally beautiful lady with charismatic looks and an alluring presence. Her long silky black hair is tied neatly in the shape of a chick bun and a long wooden hair pin fixed the hair neatly, giving a scholarly outlook. A few strands of golden-brown hair adorned her long neckline, highlighting her youthful grace.

Her deep sky-blue eyes were akin to a white sea filled with shimmering pearls, drawing others with her captivating gaze. Like a sculptured moonstone, her face has the perfect features desired by any princess. Her skin smooth and unmarked, contains a healthy milky white texture, almost similar to a dull white pearl.

Like a blossomed lotus, she stood tall and confident, possessing a lean build and perfect grace. With a serene smile placed on her lips, her balanced, otherworldly beauty draws everyone's attention wherever she stands. Even her mother felt a headache from her beauty as she received several matching offers every day from her neighbours. 

Overall, Daisy's appearance is the dream of many men and women. Men dream of such partners and women dream of such beauty. 

Actually, the Darryl family is a joint family containing more than ten nucleus families. Everyone's earnings will go to the family treasury and the family head decides what to do with the money. In exchange, all the families get necessary rations and personal funding will be provided based on the situation. 

After receiving the family command coin from her mother, Daisy stopped at the entrance to pick a silk veil and wore it, hiding her attractive face. 

Usually, every girl likes to show off their beauty and elegance. But because of her previous experiences, Daisy began concealing her beauty. That transparent silk veil covered her face fully while providing ample vision. 

After leaving home, Daisy directly went to the family store which she visited several times previously to collect the allotted rations for the family.

The family store is not specific to Darryl's family. The store is also open to the public who can buy necessary food supplements by paying the price. 

As this is the day of collecting Rations, several family members queued at the family store while holding the family command token. The patriarch's son, Dany Darryl is looking over ration supply with a commanding gaze.

"Daisy, are you still single?" Dany enquired in a sweet tone, trying to act like a good person.

"Brother, mind your business. I'm not interested in your petty talk." Daisy replied in a stern tone while avoiding Dany.

"Daisy, you should think about love and marriage. You are already an adult. As a female, you should be protected by a capable man. With your appearance, it won't be hard to find a rich young master. In fact, my friend Jinn Mu asked me to set up a meeting with you. He works as an accountant inside the palace. Why don't give me some time to set up you both?" 

Dany's proposal is obvious as he wants to gain the favor of Jinn Mu and find a footing inside the palace. For that Daisy is a good opportunity for him as her beauty can attract any young master inside the palace.

"Dany, you are the next heir of Darryl's family. Why are you doing this broker work? More ever I'm still trying for an accountant job inside the palace. Until I pass the palace exam, I won't be interested in any man." Daisy replied directly without giving any hope to Dany.

"What?! You are still trying for the exam? Aren't you disqualified two times already? If I were your father, I would have stopped you from futile efforts by now. 

Don't you wanna try bigger dreams? Nowadays everyone is trying to become a magus. If you marry a rich young master, you could easily get better resources to practice magic." Dany stared at Daisy, trying to take a look at her expression.

Daisy immediately denied his proposal by saying… "I never wanted to learn magic. If I become a Maga, I might need to leave my family. I want to support my family by earning a good job." 

"What did you say? Daisy… you are a girl. You will automatically leave the house once you are married to someone. Do want to stay single for the rest of your life?" Dany asked with mocking laughter, trying to gain the other family members' interest who stood in line. 

Before Daisy could reply, the servant who was packing rations, handed out the ration bag and family token to Daisy. "Madam, please check the rations if I miss anything." The servant spoke respectfully. 

After taking a look Daisy nodded her head and left the shop without looking back. 

"Hmmhh… If my own sister is half as beautiful as Daisy, things would be very different." Dany muttered while staring at Daisy who is walking away with a balanced grace.

"Mother… I'm home."

After placing the rations in the kitchen, Daisy immediately sat on her desk to study. The accountant exam will take place in one month. To become a government official inside the Governor's palace, the accountant exam is the only way.

In the next hour, her mother Nina prepared the lunch and called for Daisy.

"Daisy, your father went to the palace a little early as a guest is visiting the governor. can you please take this lunch box to him? I need to feed your brother. Please my sunflower…" Nina requested while holding Daisy's chin with a serene smile.

"You don't need to pester me. I will go anyway." Daisy replied with a little pouting and picked the silver lunch box and the black silk veil to cover her face.

Daisy's father Henry works as a foot soldier inside the Governor's office. Daisy went to the palace for him several times. But she never stepped inside the palace building. 

No one stopped Daisy from crossing the palace gates as her veiled appearance is common to palace guards.

"Daisy, your father is in the right-side line. Don't walk in the center path as a guest is inspecting the palace. Walk on this side-line. The old guard at the entrance warned Daisy before she stepped on the pink carpet, arranged for the guest.

Daisy bowed her head in respect and took the side path fixed for workers. Two rows of soldiers stood in line on both sides of the main path. All the soldiers maintained a deep silence while standing firmly in their position. 

"Sorry for the trouble, daughter. I should have sent someone." Henry, a handsome middle-aged man who stood in line with soldiers quickly took the lunch box from Daisy.

"It's okay, Father. Who is the guest everyone talking about? Is he powerful?" Daisy asked curiously.

"The guest is a woman. Her name is Thea Frost, she is a powerful Maga with Enchanter status. Currently, she is working as a General to the Royal family of Golden Lotus Province." Henry said in a proud tone.

"Not only that, she will become the next Major General to compete in the Provincial Competition." The soldier who stood beside Henry added with a mysterious smile.

"The guests are coming… Alert." One of the head soldiers called out loudly as a reminder. Henry immediately put the lunch box aside and stood upright with a serious face.

Daisy turned her head to take a closer look at the powerful woman.

Daisy felt rooted to the spot while staring at the guest woman. The powerful lady Maga is walking in the front with a confident gesture. Even the Governor is walking a step behind her with his head down.

The lady Maga is passing instructions while walking steadily. More than fifty elders and palace officials were walking in a distance from her.

The lady Maga wore a bit of revealing clothes. But no man is dared enough to steal a glance at her.

Daisy continued to stare at the lady Maga with her mouth wide open. The veil is helping her cover her face.

While giving instructions, lady Maga observed the soldiers and their discipline.

"Governor, I'm not satisfied with your accounts. You are misdirecting all the funds to bigger towns. Focus on the more remote areas to develop. If this continues, I will report to the Royal family to reduce your funding." The lady Maga warned in a stern tone without looking at the Mayor who is walking behind her with a humble gesture.

The lady Maga crossed Henry and continued to walk further. Henry felt a sigh of relief. But suddenly, she stopped at a short distance from him. Everyone came to a stop behind her and soldiers' hearts were beating rapidly as they did not understand why she stopped suddenly.

After a long contemplation, the lady Maga walked back to Henry and paused before him.

"You… come closer." The lady Maga gestured towards Daisy who is trying to hide behind her father.
