Waking Up

The next morning, Ren slowly opened his eyes.

He glanced to his right and saw a small foot resting on his face. This initially surprised him, but he immediately realized that it was his own daughter's little foot.

Moving his body to the left, Ren sat up slowly, trying not to wake the little girl. Seeing her changed sleeping position from vertical to horizontal, he shook his head involuntarily. "Really, she can't even sleep properly."

After that, he covered the air conditioner quilt over the little girl.

Then, he walked towards the door.

Not only was Jada not in bed, but she was also nowhere to be seen outside.

At this moment, Ren realized that Jada probably didn't come back last night.

This made him curious about what might have happened at Jada's company.

However, since he was new and not familiar with the situation, and since Jada hadn't told him, it was clear she didn't want him to know.

After washing his face, brushing his teeth, and changing clothes, Ren began to prepare breakfast for the little girl.

It may not have been fancy, but it was at the level of an ordinary housewife.

While Ren was preparing breakfast, the little girl woke up, and excitedly shouted, "Dad, my head can't come out!!!"

The little girl's head was stuck in a piece of clothing, wandering around the living room like a headless fly. Ren was worried that she might bump into the table, so he hurried over. "Really, unbutton it first and then put it on."

Ren began unbuttoning the little girl's shirt collar as she chuckled. Her head emerged from the clothing, and she happily scratched the back of her head and said, "It's because Dad's back, I'm so happy!"

"Go brush your teeth and then have breakfast," Ren patted her little head, watching her move away. Then when he heard sizzling sounds from the kitchen, he rushed over, saying, "Uh-oh!"

After a while, the little girl finished brushing her teeth and washing her face, and Ren had finished preparing breakfast. It was quite simple–omelet, bread, and a glass of milk.

The little girl approached the table, sniffed the air, and exclaimed, "Dad, you're amazing! Mom can't cook at all!"

This reminded her of the one time she ate her mom's cooking, which was even worse than bitter gourd and green peppers!

Thinking of this, she wrinkled her nose and then looked at Ren, asking, "Dad, can I watch TV while eating?"

"Sure," Ren nodded. Then the little girl cheered and ran to the TV, changed the channel, and soon the TV blared, "Magical girls! Before my tentacle king, you will all be XXX by me! Watch the world be destroyed by my tentacle demon king! Mwahaha!"

Soon, the TV broadcasted these rather over-the-top lines.

This was a well-known magical girl show in the world.

It must be said that the world's manga industry was indeed quite developed. Many manga were not only adapted into anime but also into live-action TV series and movies. What's more, unlike in his previous life, the adaptations did not ruin the original works; some were even better received than the originals.

If he had the system when he crossed over, who knew, he might have become a well-known manga artist by now.

But alas, there were no "ifs" in life; life ultimately turned him into a freeloader!

Nevertheless, being a freeloader wasn't too bad; Ren enjoyed it.

Breakfast was soon finished, and looking at the time, Ren prepared to take the little girl to school.

Although he said "take," it wasn't really necessary because the school had a bus service that picked up and dropped off children daily. According to Jada, simply dropping off the little girl at the school gate was sufficient.

Ren called out to Yuta, who was still watching cartoons, "Yueyue, it's time for school! Turn off the TV."

"Okay," the little girl reluctantly got up from the sofa, turned off the TV, picked up her little backpack, and held Ren's hand as they walked out of the door.

"Hey, isn't this Yuta? Who's next to her?"

"It's my dad~~"

"Huh? Yuta, who is this?"
