1 chapter 1:a clueless day

I don't remember it well though, but it was around six, the sky was perfectly clear and dumb. Seemed like I was glad of somethin', like joy of returning back."

"And? How did we see us, where? I mean I remember seeing you last time and don't remember much before or after that. You know anything?"

"Dunno what really happened but when I withdrew down my vision, I was supporting you with one shoulder.""Supporting, eh? Was I injured or …may be drunk?" "You weren't bleeding but looked like injured; didn't smell any dipso but looked like one." Saying so, Scarlet bit her down lip while Jason could only blink. Scarlet is a blonde with a tinge of blue in her pearl eyes. She is not an awfully beautiful girl, but surely, has a sweetish charm in her cheeks that often dive inside whenever she laughs or even giggles and become more scarlet whenever she is hot. She is a master in computers and works as a senior engineer in 'flash'. She often struggles with her low voice as people often say, "Speak louder Scarlet!" or "your voice is so low!" or "scarlet we can't hear you scarlet!" As about Jason, he is just a most suitable person for being the protagonist of the story. He is a tall, handsome guy of 26, with a jocular and pleasing personality whose smile had become a weakness of most of the girls in his college and now was successfully shooting down girls in the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor for aeronautical research. But it is certainly not enough for a girl like scarlet. Besides space, he also has an unmatched knowledge of English literature and writers.

Tracing back, the readers shall find the two in scarlet's bedroom when she opens her eyes only to see Jason by her side. It's only been a while of her having convinced herself that Jason was just an illusion. But now, with him smiling at her by her side, she felt the need for a new idea that he was rather a ghost of some good looking flesh that only looked more than real. Of course it's six months now but "I still could not get to normal anyways. Never strolled out of the house except to library that I had taken for a little distraction" says she. She probably hadn't seen a person disappearing so suddenly ever before or maybe she 'hated' seeing it, who knows. Well, I have never witnessed it either. Actually, she woke up once at midnight upon seeing some nightmare. Well, then she slept and woke up again at six and she was used to it, she even mentioned, "it freaks me out every time, not a new thing though first those peculiar sights of some other world and then people disappearing. You (Jason) only make it longer –I should have been bored seeing the same nightmare every day, should have been used to it". But in the morning, she heard the tap flowing, was scared and finally fainted upon finding Jason by her bathroom sink washing his face. Jason then carried her to the bed and gently placed her on it. After that he sat on a chair by her and kept blinking at her and his watch at a pace of three seconds, waiting for her to wake up. He was curious to ask her certain questions but he didn't know, she had more questions to ask. "Gosh I only wanna wake up quick" was what she said after waking up. But was eventually even when Jason pinched her at wrist. And then, he could talk to her after some unseen expressions of fright, shock and hysterics on her face. "So I didn't seem to be injured nor drunk?" Jason asked after a blink. "no you didn't" scarlet answered with her lips crenated towards right. "and you didn't know why you were supporting me?" "No, not at all". "okay, ahm, s-carlet tell me did I disappear, I mean are you sure you saw me fading?" scarlet took a breath and said in a louder voice- "Of course you did, I wasn't hallucinating then, if not now. I saw you just- FADING", saying so scarlet exhaled and continued, "There were five of them following us, yes it was a bunch of five boys. I had just known it they were following. "Take me I am drunk too" one of them screamed and all laughed. They had surrounded us until then. "Let go off my hand" I shouted but I had probably ran into a big trouble. The next moment they pushed you onto the ground. Only then it happened - first your feet disappeared, then hands and then you faded into air. Those boys, they all ran like they saw a ghost. I wasn't sure if I had seen one either. It's six months now but I was scared, I sure was. For months, I strangely kept staring at people's feet and hands thinking of when they should disappear suddenly- Of course I saw you, saw you fading." Following that, both kept staring at the floor for six minutes without speaking a word. Then, Jason suddenly stood up. Actually, he remembered that his father had asked him to return home soon last time and now it's been a little more time, six months. Obviously, he knew they were worried for him. Scarlet was clueless so he quickly mentioned, "gotta go home, time now." Saying so, he smiled again just to make it easy and she finally smiled back. All through the time it was only Jason who smiled, scarlet was rather uneasy. Obviously, she had many questions in her mind but she didn't want to ask anything in that peculiar situation. He was just about to leave when her mother knocked at door. Scarlet suddenly remembered that Jason is a boy and her mother must not see her with a boy. "Go, go ,go hide somewhere, if my mother sees you…" "Tell her I am your friend, then" "no just hide I said" scarlet was puzzled but she opened the door at her risk without being able to think of a place to hide him. Fortunately, the room was clear right before her mom entered the room. There wasn't even a speck of any Jason in her room. The most probable thing that dawned upon her was that he must have disappeared again. He did but only into her wardrobe, that was large enough to hide him. "it was quite suffocating inside with all those clothes and that perfume, you must dispose it soon", saying so, Jason saw scarlet, red; "by the way, your mother is not a misandrist, is she"? Jason narrowed his eyelids while his upper lip lifted sideways to smile again. "of course not, in fact she'd love to see a boy around me." Scarlet said boldly, "but it's a trouble, she is much curious to see me married." Scarlet coughed once. Jason almost laughed. He flaunted his brown hair upwards-"well, that's not a bad idea I think- everyone should marry at least once in life." He laughed and felt his laughter hitting him back. Scarlet's plain look reminded him of leaving again but there was one more problem. "I came teleporting to your bathroom but I can't teleport on my own you know." Scarlet understood at once that she should drop him home without wasting a second. Both left from the back door as silently as they could so that her mother doesn't go on fixing their engagement upon seeing the two. Both of them reached his address. They got off the car and said bye. Scarlet was just about to get back when Jason interrupted, "scarlet, how did you know?" scarlet was blank "what?" she asked. "my address, I didn't tell you! As far as I remember, we were in a hurry because of your mother. I sat in and you started driving and kept driving, I never mentioned of my address!" Jason was puzzled but scarlet was puzzled too- "you didn't? Yes you didn't? I don't know, why do I know your address?" both were silent again. Then scarlet's left brow twitched and she said, "anyways, there have been so many weird incidents with us so far- first, i help a man I don't know at all, who suddenly disappears into air then suddenly appears in my bathroom and gets into a clueless talk, and now I drop that person at his address without ever knowing it-ah it will sure drive me mad if I think any further. Let's just forget anything happened and pretend we never met." scarlet gasped and Jason spoke, "yes, it's certainly strange. Well bye then miss stranger. Thanks for dropping me, take care" "hope don't see you again" scarlet uttered. Both grimaced and went home.
