46 Brother And Sister

Ayden scratched his head and sighed. He could only agree since it seemed like Isabella was going to do it anyway. But he also thought maybe this was a good idea as well since they would all be living together. He let out a sigh. He really wanted to buy Madi her first set of cybernetics himself, but it seemed he would have to wait. He promised himself when he had enough money, he would definitely get her the best. But for now, he had to work even harder. Not only was Isabella helping him with his own cybernetics but also Madi's as well.

The two walked to the school gates just as classes let out. Madi, who walked out of the building, was talking with Sue when her eyes immediately fell on the young man standing at the gates. "Sorry, gotta go!" A beautiful smile appeared on her face, which stunned everyone who was around her. They watched as the young girl quickly ran to the gates and tackle hugged a young man. "Brother!"

"Madi… If you run like that you might fall." Ayden rubbed her head with a warm, gentle smile.

"Hehe… " Madi's eyes lifted, and felt something was off. She felt that her brother's hands were heavier than normal. Her eyes widened as she yelled out: "You got cybernetics!?" Of course, she already knew this, but she still acted surprised.

"That I did. But don't worry, I still plan to refurbish the ones you gave me and make them even stronger than these in the future." Ayden wanted to make sure his sister's care for him did not go wasted. Hearing this, Madi turned and gave a mocking smile to Isabella without Ayden realizing it.

Isabella sighed. She wondered why the Little Undertaker was so competitive but seeing how much Ayden cared for her, she could guess that if she had an older brother like Ayden, she would be just as bad. But she wondered if Madi knew her image was shattering in front of everyone's eyes. The terrifying little girl, who everyone did their best not to anger, was acting like a spoiled child in front of her brother.

Sue, who was left alone, shook her head and sighed. "Madi, your bro-con is showing…." She said softly before walking over to Tintin, who was waiting. "Looks like Madi is busy, so we will have to go by ourselves."

"Mm…. You know I am kind of envious…. The way Madi's brother treats her is…." Tintin was interrupted by a sudden glare from a certain Little Undertaker. She quickly looked away from Ayden and leaned over to Sue, and whispered: "Does she have eyes in the back of her head?"

"Do not underestimate her bro-con radar. She can sense any thots a mile away." Sue teased. "Let's go."

"Mm…." Tintin quickly ran off before she got herself in more trouble.

"Since today is a day of celebration, we should go out to eat.." Isabella clapped her hands. Madi looked up and nodded. She also felt this was a good idea. After all, her brother, who sacrificed so much, had finally gotten himself some cybernetics.

"I don't know you have already…." Ayden wanted to reject because he felt bad, but Madi interrupted him. "Since Big Sister said we should celebrate, we should celebrate."

Isabella had a cold chill run down her spine when she heard Madi call her big sister. She wondered if hell froze over or not.

Ayden could only agree when Madi put it like that, and the trio made their way to a mid-class restaurant. Isabella would have taken them someplace nicer, but until Ayden got used to things, this would have to do. When they got there, Ayden excused himself to use the restroom. Madi and Isabella stood there waiting for their table in silence. Only after about a minute did Madi suddenly speak up. "You have my thanks. My brother seems happy."

"I am just doing what I should to help him. He is under my employment, after all." Isabella answered flatly. But Madi still shook her head and continued: "Even so, you do not know how much he has suffered. He had worked hard, and now he is able to do something that will reward him for his efforts."

Isabella was stunned for a moment before smiling. "It's nothing. Oh, right I told him I would get you cybernetics, so this weekend we will go out."

"Alright…." Madi nodded. She was not as adverse to Isabella as she was before since this woman had been keeping her promises and even helping her out of a situation that would be hard for her to explain.

The group had dinner and went home, where Ayden began doing his workout routine. He found it was much easier to do these things with cybernetics, so he doubled the amount of all his different sets. After almost four hours, he lay on the ground outside, covered in sweat. Madi walked over and handed him a water bottle. "Brother…."

"Thanks, Madi." Ayden smiled and took the water bottle. He sat up and guzzled it down. Madi sat down next to him as she looked up at the sky. Ayden looked over at her. "You know…. I owe you a lot."

Madi's eyes went wide as she turned and looked at her brother. She did not understand how he owed her anything. He had always been the one to take care of all her needs. "Don't give me that look." Ayden chuckled as he continued: "When our parents died. I felt dead inside. But because you were there, I held myself together and worked hard. Not for my sake but yours. You kept me going which is something that I am thankful for. Without you there I might have really done something stupid like turned to drugs and crime or worse."

Ayden reached up and placed his hand on Madi's head. "Thanks…."

Madi couldn't keep her tears from falling. She looked at the relieved smile on her brother's face and buried her face in his chest. She did not care if it was soaked in sweat or not. She actually wondered what would have happened to her if her brother was not around. So if anyone should have been saying thanks it should be her saying thanks to the most wonderful brother in the world.
