20 Becoming A Pro Gamer Part 1

"Oh? What is this, Sue? Did you fall for Madi's brother?" Tintin asked with a smug grin on her face.

"Are you crazy? Like I want to die!" Sue yelled out while quickly walking away. She dared not even think about such things.

Meanwhile…..

*Bang!*

"That bitch! How can anyone say such bad things about my brother? So what if his cheeks are slightly sunken in? He works so hard and saves all the good things for me…." Madi's eyes began to well up with tears as she thought about it. "I got these cybernetics in hopes of trying to protect him but everyone! Every one of those bastards are trying to treat my brother as some kind of slave! Like his last boss! Making him work so hard when he already slaves away. If I hadn't had a little talk with him, he would have slaved away at that place! They were all the same!"

*Bang!*

"Madison Townson! Even if the lockers have a self repair function, you should not be destroying them on purpose!" A teacher suddenly yelled out, bringing Madi out of her rampage. She turned and bowed to the teacher. "I am sorry, Miss Clark."

"It's fine. I know studying can stress you out, and you need to release some times, but that is why we have martial arts practice in the afternoons. So please wait until then." Miss Clark said before looking at her watch and saying: "Hurry to class. I will be there soon."

"Yes, Miss Clark!" Madi sighed in relief that she did not lose her image too much. She quickly got her books from her locker and ran to class.

"Where can I find a job this time?" Ayden was a bit concerned about this because there was not much he could do around here. He went to every store to try to fill out an application, but for some reason, they kept rejecting him, saying they were not hiring when they had a damn now hiring sign in the window!

Ayden searched for almost six hours before finally giving up. He decided to just head back home and maybe try to put those chips on the marketplace for a high price and hope they sell. If he can make money in the game, then he wouldn't have to worry about being fired anymore.

Ayden walked through the door of his apartment and walked over to the legless couch, and sat down. He sat back and closed his eyes. He was truly tired.

The sound of something sizzling entered Ayden's ears as the smell of food filled his nose. Ayden slowly opened his eyes and looked at the kitchen area to see his sister cooking. "Madi, your home?"

"Mmm! Brother, just relax, okay? Today I will serve you!" Madi said happily as she hummed and cooked the food on the stove. She had used the money her brother had been giving her to buy a big steak for her brother!

"Madi, you don't have to do that..." Ayden felt bad he did nothing today, and his sister was now cooking him dinner. As he watched her cook, he couldn't help but ask: "Madi, do you hate how we live?"

"Hmmm? Why would you ask such a silly question? Brother, I am just happy that we can be together and support each other. No matter where we live or how poor or rich we are, as long as we work together, anything is possible." Madi said as she turned and smiled at Ayden.

That night Ayden was forced to eat meat until he was ready to puke. When he asked where she got the meat from, Madi told him she got it from a friend who runs a meat factory. Ayden didn't question anything after that since he was happy Madi had friends.

After Madi went to bed, Ayden laid down on the couch, put the headset on, and logged back into CyPunk Online. He just never thought that he would be attacked as soon as he logged in. "Edge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Pam tackled Ayden as soon as he appeared and hugged him tightly. "Pa-Master? Is something wrong?"

Pam shook her head as she smiled. "I am just glad you are back. Let's go to the auction and see if we can sell those chips. You needed credits, right?"

"Yeah. But are you sure? I can go by myself. I do not want to stop you from your work." Ayden thought that Pam would be busy with her experiments and other work.

"It's fine. The auction hall is only like fifteen minutes away. I also should get some exercise once and a while. So let's go! The sooner we put them on, the sooner you can make money, right?" Pam said as she hugged Ayden's arm. Ayden had no idea why Pam was being so clingy. Not that he disliked this closeness because he found Pam cute, but he did find it strange.

"Alright, then let me put them in my inventory then," Ayden replied as he walked over to his workbench and went to pick up the augment chips, but he paused when he saw almost fifty more. "This…."

"Hehe! Surprise!" Pam shouted with a smile. "I got an itch and began trying to test out the different modifications. Some add attack power, while others add Cy Power along with supporting augments. Since I got no use for them, I am giving them to you to sell. So make sure you make a good amount of money off them!"

Ayden stared at the stack of augments and almost started crying. He figured with this many, he could really work hard at the game and even make more money than he was working multiple jobs. He turned and looked at Pam with a grateful smile as he bowed his head and said with complete sincerity: "Master, thank you so much….."

Pam was taken aback by Ayden's sudden action that she blushed and did not know what to say. "Cough! It-It's fine. You are my apprentice, and I will not allow you to suffer."
