19 Time to Klep

Rose had just gotten done with her last training session with Harley and Katana. Over the past 2 months, they had gotten closer to one another from the several life-or-death missions they went on.

Rose opened the door to her room and saw Jason sitting shirtless on his bed with a focused expression on his face as he looked straight at the wall.

"Jay. When was the last time you ate?"

"A few..."

"Real food. Not the kibble you can buy for yourself."

"Then a few weeks."

Rose smelled herself before groaning. She really wanted to take a shower but she couldn't just leave Jason like that. She walked over and pulled him off the bed, forcing Jason out of what he was doing.

"Let's go eat!"

"We are gonna be on the plane in a few hours. Can't I eat then?"

"Nope," Rose instantly denied the suggestion. He had already tricked her several times with it. "You'll just make up some excuse later. Plus, we can finish up our hunting while we get lunch. The others are probably there."

Jason groaned in agreement. He put on his shirt and followed Rose down to the mess hall. When they got there, the two people Jason still needed to klep their formerly blank chips.

Jason and Rose got in line for food before he activated his Sandevistan. With a burst of speed, he suddenly appeared behind Deadshot. Jason pressed the button on his neck and took out the chip before rushing over to Deadshot II and taking his chip as well.

Before anyone else noticed, he was already standing next to Rose again. Jason had saved them for last because they would have noticed. And just like he expected, the pair turned to look at him while he was standing next to Rose.

"Got em?"

"Yep. Without any issues."

"I was talking to Becky. She said she was gonna have fresh orange slices and I haven't had one of those in a while. I already figured that you would get those easily."

Jason smirked at Rose's comment and didn't reply. He stacked some food on his plate before following Rose to her usual table. After they had been there for a few minutes, they were joined by Katana.

Jason and Katana nodded in greeting before Jason continued talking to Rose about their 'parole.' Everyone had already figured out that Jason and Rose weren't really in trouble but had come here because of some deal the League of Assassins made with Waller.

"Teacher said that she is going to pick us up personally since she made you miss out on The Kumite by having you accompany me."

"Hmm. It's fine. I got to spend some time away from my dad. Also..." Rose trailed off while looking at Jason.

Jason nodded. He knew what Rose was implying but wasn't sure about what to say back. So instead, he just acted stern. The best way to get out of a situation like that is to just pretend you don't understand it.

Katana saw how Jason was acting and scoffed. Anyone with eyes could tell that the pair liked each other but neither would make the first move.

Just as Katana was about to tell them to just go makeout already, 4 security guards walked up behind them.

"Wilson. Todd. You're being released. Let's go grab your stuff and get you out of here."

"Got it. I'll see you when we get, Katana," Rose bid her friend goodbye before following the guards back to their room. The teens were led up to the surface where they were released out the front gate.

But what they saw on the road was something they didn't expect. Nothing.

Apparently, Talia was expecting them at the airport and Waller wasn't planning on supplying a ride there.

"Oh well. I wanted to buy a bike for myself anyway."

Jason went through his system and bought the second-fastest bike he saw on the list. A Mitsuzuki MSX900 "Bakushin". This thing had a top speed of nearly 200 MPH which made it great for speed demons. Jason got a custom paint job to match his black and red aesthetic.

Ravager looked at the bike in envy.

"How much that cost?"

"6.6K."

"Buy me one too. Blue and white color scheme."

Jason bought it for her without a word. He had already finished all of his sales for the customers that bought weapons from him so he had a few million eddies in his account. 7 thousand or 14 thousand didn't make much of a difference to him at the moment.

Jason also planned to formally invite Rose to be in his crew when he left the League. Might as well buy her a few things.

A bike appeared next to Jason's with an opposite color scheme as his. Rose smiled and hopped on her bike before revving the engine.

"Race to the airport?"

Jason smiled and hopped on his own bike.

"You're on."

So the duo raced down the highway. By the time they got to the airport, their newly bought bikes were covered in dirt and mud since the pair decided that they wanted to go off-road to try and get to the airport faster.

When Talia saw the dirt all over the bikes, she could easily guess what happened. The woman shrugged her shoulders.

"You guys, put those bikes under the plane. Rose and Jason, join me on board."

The teens followed Talia on board and sat across from her when they got to their seats. While they were waiting for the plane to take off, Talia observed the changes in the teens in front of her.

Jason had grown taller and it seemed like his body was finally filling out. Before, he was slim and tall but now it looked like Jason had put on 10-15 pounds worth of muscles.

Rose's body was already perfectly athletic for a young woman her age, but Talia noticed that she had stopped wearing her eyepatch and she had gained a new eye. She also saw how close the pair were sitting.

'Hmm. Kids.'

"Jason. How did it go on your end?"

"1 Marksmanship +8, a Marksmanship (Snipers) +7, a Marksmanship (Boomerang) +7, and CQC +6. A few other wasted ones since they didn't have skills that were worth the chips."

"Hmm. That will be good enough. I've also captured those 3 so you'll need to put in the system and get your own chips."

"Great. About time I'm able to actually customize my stuff."
