31 Funny Business

Harley stood on the deck of a Kujira wearing a black, string bikini that left almost nothing to the imagination. She then started lying on her stomach and appeared to be tanning.

"Damn. Being an Edgerunner is so amazing. I get to sit on this kickass boat all day and enjoy the sun."

Harley looked up, to her left where she saw Scandal and Knockout tanning, both of them only wearing the bottom half of their swimsuits.

"Hmm. Babes next to me too."

The constant ringing of gunfire could be heard. Harley turned her head to the left to see Ballistic firing her sniper and Ivy using a pair of machine pistols.

"And not to forget about the guns as well. Able to light up all the fuck that I want."

Harley jumped up before she started leaning on the edge of the railing.

"So if you guys like kickass boats, cybernetic upgrades, hot babes, and guns, you should join the Edgerunners. Always looking for some fresh blood that knows how to... use their hands"

Harley fell over the edge of the ship. She soon returned, lying in a position that exposed all she had for the camera while she was on a Rayfield Excalibur, floating up. The aerodyne limo was something to be admired, especially with a beauty like Harley on top of it.

Jason and Rose looked at the commercial that was on a loop on the TV in the playroom on the top floor for the 13th time in a row. Both of them turned to Harley, neither saying a word but giving her a shared look.

'What the fuck, Harley!?!?'

Ivy was at the bar and saw the stunned looks on both their faces. She could also see that they were debating on whether or not to reach for their guns to shoot her.

'*sigh* She's lucky she's my best/only friend.'

Ivy set down her cocktail with force on the bar to get the attention of Rose and Jason.

"She already posted the video 2 days ago so no point in killing her. Just make her pay a fee or something," Ivy tried to think of an appropriate punishment for her friend.

Jason sighed and waved his hand. He didn't think it was a big deal. He had already expected something of this level from Harley, just not this.

"Doesn't matter. We are getting a large number of recruits. Whether that is from our initial confrontation with the League, the recording of my battle with Cain, or her commercial, doesn't matter. We just need to take advantage of it to make a sturdy foundation."

Rose wanted to punish Harley but when Jason said that she would receive nothing, she kept quiet. Harley's commercial was too minor of a matter to get into an argument with him over.

Harley lept out of her chair with a bright smile before prancing over to Ivy and giving her a peck on the cheek.

"Thanks, Ives. I'll make sure to check in with you before I do anything else."

"Yay. I got another job on top of my already important one."

"I promise. I won't make it any more difficult for you."

Ivy rolled her eyes at her friend. She was questioned whether she should shoot Harley in the foot to keep her out of trouble for a couple of weeks.

"Whatever, Harles. Remember, we're no longer criminals. We have to behave a certain way."

It had been a week since Jason had bought the Kujira. During that time, they had begun their recruiting campaign and started treating it like an actual organization.

Ivy was put in charge of the Agricorp section. She was in charge of all livestock and food production. In return, Jason had promised to spend a certain amount of the money they made on ecological issues.

Harley was their social media coordinator. Jason knew she had the ability to make lots of people love or hate her due to her eccentric behavior so he wanted to capitalize on that.

Rose was in charge of all military operations, She would be in charge of anyone that was not in the other 2 fields assisting Ivy or Harley, or in Jason's field. This was going to be Edgerunners largest faction since they would deal with mercenary work that the company would be involved in.

Scandal was put in command of the special operations unit which currently consisted of her, Knockout, Ballistic, Velocity, and Deadshot. Their main job was to protect Jason but when required, they would deal with missions that required a 'special' touch and discretion.

Lastly was the R&D which Jason would lead. Jason would slowly roll out weapons, robots, vehicles, and cybernetics while working on further developing his own personal tech. Jason had already announced 3 luxury cars which had gotten many people interested.

With Jason's announcements, the various videos of the group, and just the mystery behind the newcomers, Edgerunner had gained a foothold in not only Gotham but the entire nation. And Jason's next goal, the world.
