Chapter One

Running through these woods, I noticed only one thing. There was a repeating image in my mind that wouldn't go away no matter how much I tried. The still, calm image of a monarch butterfly. I eventually gave in to the hallucination and slowly started to fade away. Is this it? Will I die here? What's happening to me? After a few minutes, I wake up in an unfamiliar setting. I'm in a room covered in computer wires. There's also a computer in the middle of the room that interconnects all of these wires. I walk curiously towards the bright computer screen. When I get there, all the screen reads is: Welcome to Namu, the world of existence. The computer flashes to a black screen and my consciousness fades again. This time, I wake up in a room full of books that are neatly stacked on shelves. I walk around and end up picking up a book with the title of "Our Consciousness: What is it? Who are we and do we Really Exist?" Interested in the philosophical title, I begin to read, only for my vision to fade to black again. I wake up and I feel a soft sensation under my head. I look around. As it seems, I'm laying on a girls lap. I quickly get up as I don't know this girl and don't want to cause her any trouble. She looks at me and utters the words "You're finally awake. Good morning. You passed out while chasing a butterfly."
