22 Siege preparations

Alex found a nearby kulu but decided to aim for something stronger for more point and ignored it. the dumb creature didn't even know how close to death it had gotten as it stole an egg from the aptanoth nest. a short flight later alex was over the huge sand trap that the diablos used to hunt the barroths where he spat a glob of water into a noios , startling it into screaming. this set off the whole group of wingdrakes into screaming drawing the diablos attention from below. the ground began to shake as the diablos dug through the sand before bursting out of the ground expecting prey but finding only air.

The tan bull wyvern didn't even get a chance to be confused before alex smashed into it from the sky. with an almost planned ease alex had landed with his front claws wrapped around the diablos horns. he gripped the horns and pulled them in opposite directions making the diablos scream in agony as the horns very roots were being pried out. blood poured from the skin around the horns before with a sickening "squelch" the horns were torn out in their entirety.

Alex wasted no time using the new holes to flood the diablos's brain with electricity and despite it's bodies resistance to the stuff it died from the overload to it's brain. alex didn't mind the few thousand pounds of dead weight that the corpse added to him as he flew it back to astera to get it butchered. most of alex's hunts didn't take nearly as long as they used to anymore since nothing in his usual biomes was a challenge to him whether in tracking or killing. travel between biome was more time consuming for alex than the actual hunts themselves but he knew this would change as the story progressed.

Eventually elder dragons would start popping up out of the wood work and alex was honestly looking forward to it. alcina was practically drooling when she saw the dead diablos alex had brought back with him. he grimaced as he remembered his promise to share his hunts with her and could only huff and look away as she made off with a thick pink steak from the pile. the diablos meat was like a thick fatty wagyu beef in both texture and taste making alex regret losing that steak even more.

Alcina definitely had a good eye for food as alex noticed the steak she had taken was one of the pair of choices cuts. alex wasn't that surprised to find that the diablos gave him as many points as a rath member since it was the apex of the desert only below the rare others that don't show up there normally. alex's guess at the timeline of the game being much longer in reality was proven true as a month passed before the first siege on zorah was first discussed in a meeting. unlike in the game however the fleet commander gave alex the task of stalling zorah however he could.

This forced alex to break down and spend all of his points on an ability that the protagonist of the infamous games had , bioenergy leech. the reason for this was because the massive amount of bioenergy in zorah's body wasn't discovered until after this siege failed in the game. alex wasn't so arrogant to think the addition of him would be enough to capture zorah but if it was enough to cause the beast that was on it's last legs to stop early and release all that energy everyone nearby would be killed.

With this ability alex could use his body as a sort of faucet head to direct the flow of energy should it come to it. this was definitely going to put a massive burden on his body if he needs to implement this plan but he made sure it wouldn't kill him permanently at the very least thanks to another thing he purchased. {flawed substitution: creates a single false clone that takes all of the users injuries when used , has a cool down of three months between uses.} this ability took half of the points alex gained during the month at a whopping three million.

If used correctly these two skills would let alex prevent the death of everyone in the worst case scenario and come out alive himself. the second skill was useful no matter if he needed to use it for this operation or not but the first only regained usability in the elders recess where bioenergy was abundant. these two abilities wiped out alex's savings but they would pay off in the future so he didn't mind.
