25 Rant(author chapter)

So before i actually get into the story i have to address a problem i keep getting brought to my attention. why i refuse to rehumanize the character. the answer is very simple , i never intended to make the character go back to human mannerisms but instead aim to make him more and more inhuman in his mindset. this means he won't get the ability to turn into a human nor will he be gaining the ability to talk since both those things draw him closer to humanity which is counter productive to making him less human.

In addition a good chunk of people got upset at me making it clear there would be no romance in this story. to put this bluntly he isn't interested in anything of the sort nor does he have a reason to be. his only goal at the moment is to reach the apex of this worlds food chain and he is far away from it. at this point someone is bound to mention what about after he achieves that goal , the answer to which is i have not made up my mind but what i am sure of is that he will not be going back to being even a little human.

That bit of this little rant done lets move on to another issue that was brought to my attention , how the system functions. so i thought i had made it fairly easy to understand how the prices of the various abilities and items were determined but apparently not. there are a grand total of five things that decide how cheap or expensive something is in the system. these five things are power , potential , accessibility , scale and restrictions. power refers to how great or small the initial ability or item grants immediately after acquisition.

Potential instead refers to how much growth the ability or item itself has possible or that it could grant to him. accessibility is based on how likely there was for a similar item or ability to exist in that world in somewhere and how rare such a thing is. scale refers to which extent the item or ability affects the world or alex himself , the easiest method to figure it out was the range or portion of area it could possibly affect. restrictions are the only factor that actually lowers the price of the abilities or items since they remove or limit factors from the other four categories.

Now if you add in the rough food chain from all of the monsters or animals as the scale of how many points what is worth based on where on that food chain they fall. and then attach a corresponding price to the parameters of the items or abilities based on where the creatures may have comparable abilities or items available to them. this made the system fairly self explanatory in how it worked and why. the various possibilities are literally limitless for things that could be made with the system at which point i follow this guide to adjust the price to what feels acceptable.

This is not me making excuses or complaining about what you guys or girls thing about my story but me making my intentions perfectly transparent. i have decided that all of this needed to be cleared up and directly set in it's place so i don't keep getting people wanting me to drastically alter the story all the time in a way that is counter to how it's meant to go. thank you for reading this if you have gotten this far and i apologize if this has come off as confrontational as it was not meant to.
