88 Passing time

Two weeks had passed since that meeting and a few thing had happened during that time. First was that Roya had stuck to Alex like a second shadow whenever possible even going so far as to be wearing a swim suit on under her clothes at all times in case he decided to go swimming. Despite her constant presence she wasn't actually all that invasive of his privacy tending instead to follow him around silently. The most irritating thing for Alex was when Roya would write something down in her note pad at the most random of times making him infinitely curious what she wrote.

What Alex didn't realize was that he was constantly disproving theories that Roya had created about him and his purpose as an elder dragon. She was used to learning new things from monsters in the wild but Alex was the exception to every rule she could think of filling her with frustration. What was worse was that she couldn't even pin down any habits he may have as every time she thought she found one he did something totally unrelated to whatever it was. The only viable information Roya had gotten about Alex besides the abilities he had shown was that he was totally comfortable around people.

For a renowned monster specialist this lack of progress was downright infuriating and wounded her self confidence slightly. The second thing that had happened was that Alex had leveled up [Enhanced scales] and [Water breathing] while also unlocking [Paralysis resistance]. The traits that he leveled up each had consumption requirement to level up that he had been working on for a while now and only just finished. The first trait merely increased the size and shape of Alex's scales ever so slightly into a more optimal form , while the second trait finally let Alex breath in both salt and fresh water and was also at max level.

Unlocking the last trait however pushed Alex over the edge into his growth requirement letting him nearly triple in size over the span of a week. Alex's new size was roughly the same as the normal jagras that roam the ancient forest , or about the size of a small sized bull shark on earth. This was to say six feet long not including his tail that was as always twice as long than his body.

This sudden growth period wasn't that strange as far as Roya was concerned due to the exact date of Alex's birth having been recorded letting her know his young age. Still the fact Alex was now roughly as large as a person made him less adorable in many peoples eyes and more intimidating like the rest of the monsters in this world. The fact Alex was considered an elder dragon only made people more uncomfortable around him , except for the three small children in astera. Each child was born in the same year on different months about six years ago and made it their mission to use Alex as a mount any time they could get a hold of him.

Alex was always patient and gentle with the kids even when they would tire themselves out and go to sleep on his back. The kids parents always found it novel when Alex would show up at their homes to drop the kids off whenever this happened. The biggest problem Alex learned about getting bigger was that his appetite grew proportionally with his size. If before a single tuna would keep him full for two days , now it counted as a single meal.

This wasn't a huge problem for alex however thanks to his mountainous debt with the foreman of the docks. Getting enough food merely took Alex a larger price than before but even this amount on a regular basis was like grains of sands off that mountain of debt. The really pricy things however were the max potions Alex had bought a hundred of at five thousand zenny a pop.(A/N: zenny is the currency in case it wasn't clear). The reason Alex chose this option out of all of them was because max potions were very small at only three inches in size per dose.
