151 Making gains
It took three whole weeks for Zain to complete the hunts for the task of the first wyverians since the little bastards actually specified that Alex couldn't help. In this time Alex was very busy with his near debilitating training regime , but it payed off. In this time he had raised his [toxirosys] to T4 alongside his [hydrosis] fulfilling the condition for his next growth spurt. Now Alex was merely a few feet smaller than nergigante which meant he completely towered over the people of astera. Thanks to his intense training Alex had leveled each of his muscle related traits to level eight which raised his [Apex muscles] trait to T6.
This meant that at this point Alex's body had the strength of any peak high rank monster save perhaps the elder dragons. He also raised his defensive traits related to his scales by a few levels as well as his [shock absorption] trait to level two. The method he used for training this trait was brutal towards himself but effective as he had hammer users smashing him for close to two hours every day. It was painful and left him covered in bruises and damaged organs but his "habit" of consuming max potions on the regular forced his body to burn through calories to repair the damage.
Hunters themselves used a similar method to rapidly increase their strength after undergoing the transformation from normal human to hunter. The difference is that they tend to never use it again after that due to the constant feeling of starvation that came with it. The constant suffering Alex forced himself to go through during these three weeks tempered his will causing his aura to feel less like a brutal piece of metal more like a sword just waiting to be unsheathed.
It was enough to make those sensitive to such things rather uncomfortable because Alex's presence felt like a threat to their lives. He was forced to learn how to suppress his aura while he was in astera which he also found out also made him even stealthier than normal. According to those he asked the reason for this was because all creatures had a sort of sixth sense about aura that let them feel when they are being hunted or in the case of humans stared at. With ones aura completely withdrawn even if you stare at someone their senses simply can't react since none of your aura is reaching them.
On the reverse side of things if you blare your aura around you it will subconsciously make the people around you nervous or relaxed depending on your personality. Much like in the game there was a meeting to discus what should be done about the impending doom that zorah was threatening them all with. The meeting played out the same as in the game as well save of course for Alex's presence in it but he merely said he was with them whatever choice they make without really adding any input.
When the ship from the guild equipped with the latest in anti elder dragon weaponry showed up towards the end of the meeting everyone was pumped. The dragonater was basically a MASSIVE spring loaded spear with a head the size of Alex's torso and launched out with several cannons worth of force. The thing made Alex mentally send his past self a thumbs up for aligning with the people rather than go full monster. With this new weapon and the supplies sent by the guild the second and final siege of zorah was set in motion.
Two days later Alex was gripping the rocky side of the inlet to the everstream cove waiting for zorah to make it's final appearance. Every member of every fleet had gone all out on the preparations with even the huge stalagmites of the coves ceiling having been rigged to explode when hit with slinger pods. Alex had sneakily found the admiral watching from a hard to spot small cave but didn't reveal that he had seen the man. Soon enough the temperature of the surroundings began to heat up which was a sign of zorah's approach.
