First expedition

Alcina did not in fact get any table ware made by alex mostly since he felt that to be a huge waste of the top quality metal. keep in mind alex was in the unique position of being able to mix metal into an alloy perfectly thanks to his devil fruit ability. he could control each individual granule of metal to scatter and blend with his control if he focused on it seriously like he did for that dagger. anything short of molecular science or flat out magic couldn't do a better job forging that dagger and as a result it was completely peerless.

When freya came back later that day with news of nergigante's tracks alcina complained to her about not getting her way. freya was also very jealous of the admiral getting such an amazing weapon but had enough self pride not to beg for alex to make her a weapon. she really wanted to though which made the pathetic look she gave alex even worse. 'this is why playing favorites with your pets doesn't work.' alex thought to himself as both alcina and freya sulked. the admiral was special as far as alex was concerned as he never made the mistake of thinking alex was some sort of tamed pet.

It was hard for many to notice but the admiral was always ready to respond if alex ever suddenly decided he didn't like people anymore. there were very small actions that proved this such as the admirals stance with one foot always behind him when he interacted with alex. also how the muscles in his right arm twitched as he kept it at the ready. small things that alex noticed that only those who are cautious about alex did. it was a sort of respect that the admiral had always maintained even when alex wasn't a threat.

This respect was mutual between the two of them even if they could be considered friends who shouldn't be cautious of the other. perhaps as an anomaly amongst his own kind the admiral could tell that alex was the same kind of dangerous as himself. make no mistake alex would never turn against people much the same as the admiral himself wouldn't but they both felt the distance between them and others. this was why they both preferred the wilderness and the hunt opposed to socializing.

A couple of days passed after this and freya and alcina completed the map of the easier areas of the recess to reach along with the standard residents of the area. freya was confused as to why she had not seen any elder dragons despite the admirals claims of spotting several but took her findings back to astera anyways. neither alex or the admiral left with her and alcina however as each was more than happy to stay out in the recess for different reasons. alex knew that the azure rathalos were going to show up soon and wanted to hunt a few.

The admiral simply wanted to explore the area more now that he had alex here to keep the residents off his back. alex did pop back to astera to grab his orbs however since he was missing out on elemental gains by staying out here for so long. a lot of people were worried they had done something to offend alex so he was leaving permanently. when freya arrived a day later they learned it was just him going on his own sort of expedition. the second fleet master who was in charge of the smithy was very interested in the story of the dagger alex made the admiral.

The first azure rathalos showed up a day after freya returned back to astera as alex discovered on his daily hunt. it was larger and the scales on it were obviously denser than a high rank normal rathalos and much like it's red cousin it made no effort trying to remain unseen. leon slammed it into the ground as it was hunting before stuffing it full of water , drowning it. not a method alex was overly fond of but it kept the corpse completely intact which the admiral was likely to appreciate.
