23 Chapter 22: All About The Psyche.

Baal and Xerneas were sitting on the edge of a mountain watching the sunset as he finally spoke up,

"I'm leaving Xerneas."

Xerneas' face took on a slightly melancholy expression before she acknowledged his decision, "I thought you were going to propose to me for a minute, you definitely weren't this depressing and quiet since last time."

Baal gave a soft laugh before saying, "and I won't be coming back. I just wanted you to know that these times together were truly fun."

Xerneas' glanced at Baal as if he was an idiot as well as a weirdo, " Whoa whoa whoa, hold on. I'm definitely coming with you, wherever you're going off to explore."

*Baal Surprised Pikachu Face*

"But what about your kingdom, all of this mystical forest that you've built up and protected. This was your home from the very beginning. You're really going to leave all of that behind?" Baal surprisedly spoke yet the tone in his voice indicated he was a little more excited about the idea of her accompanying him.

"Baal, We've both lived for millions and millions of years. I've known you for only 2 thousand years but in that time, the times we've been in each other's presence can be counted on two hands... And Yet I know there's something more... Something I can't quite put my finger on. All I know is that I want to be with you..." Xerneas explained with tears forming in her eyes, "Look at yourself Baal, you are a lonely god. So, So Lonely. You have all that power and yet, you can do nothing with it. This is what happens when you stay alone...for too long."

Baal got up from the side of the cliff before looking at her with a chilly expression, " I don't need anyone"

Xerneas got up and dusted herself off, "Don't be alone Baal...Don't travel alone. In all the time that I've known you, the only thing I can say for sure is that you're very bad at being lonely," She smiled with a couple of tears building up.

Baal looked at her one last time before flying away, "I can do...anything. Even being lonely."

....

I drew a scroll that had a few scribbles on it, I needed to get stronger.

[Scripture of Power: Voluntarily allows the first reader to gain: Absorption Empowerment, Combat Empowerment, Kenbunshoku Haki, Busoshoku Haki, Superior Armament, Ocean Lordship, Arctic Lordship]

I clicked on the yes option before glancing at the item that was materialising in front of me. A simple piece of paper that contained the power to make anyone a god-like being. Although this was extremely expensive, It now allowed me to go up against Palkia, Dialga or Giratina.

My eyes widened...This. This was like nothing I've ever experienced before. In front of me, the world began moving far far away until... I no longer fel-T MySElF ThErE.

I opened my eyes once again and yet I was...nowhere. All around me...nothing affected me, I was just left here with my conscience or whatever it is that actually is 'me'. This wasn't even a place...it was nowhere and everywhere at the same time. For a long time, I stayed here. Not even my body held me down if I didn't want it to.

Sigh, okay, let's get back to where I was...

Soon enough though, this place that I was in, began expanding as I began seeing space again...

I saw the beginning of universes and the end of others. They were beautiful and tragic. I watched the entire lifecycle of planets pass by me, wars that humans went through did not compare to some of the intergalactic conflicts between some of the species that I saw. I zipped through reality towards a goal that I had all but lost track of. It all just disappeared, gone in a moment, everything I ever was didn't matter.

One of the universes that I passed did have a small blue box travelling through space with an old man inside it...holding a weapon which I could sense untold power from. I grew old. I could feel it. My soul...grew old...but what's the point in growing old if you can't be childish once in a while?

Blink.

...

Baal's eyes opened as he took in the place that he was in. He remembered and glanced down at the small, patchy piece of paper. Tears collected in his eyes as he threw the piece of paper away and scrambled back away from it.

A soft fury began forming on his face as he recollected everything from the beginning of his first life. Everything he ever did lead to tragedy, even in his first life.

He put his hands through his hair as he looked up to the sky, waving his hands, it began raining...

His eyes let loose,

[Baal, It's okay to cry. You have been strong for Millions and millions of years. In fact, you haven't just been strong, you've been the strongest for millennia. Monotony has done this to you. Now, compose yourself, your countenance is not deserving of that of a lord. To re-focus you,

After a while, Baal collected himself and a new, certain and nonchalant smile adorned his face. This could truly be called a form of mental reincarnation. Baal's mental state went through a phoenix-like lifecycle. It burned to ashes and yet from the ashes, something new and stronger was born from it. A new Baal. In fact, This individual's name has been truly lost...even Raiden was never his true name. Baal is more of a title for him to remember his purpose.

He again began drawing another scripture but this time, he used red ink to indicate the text...

Baal nodded. He didn't wish to go through such a mind-boggling experience again hence he went with fewer abilities. Soon enough a scripture fell into his hands and he felt himself becoming physically stronger, He knew that he could probably beat both Groudon and Rayquaza. However, he had enough of this period and only wanted to leave and explore a new place already.

...

Xerneas paced around her chamber stressed that she may have made Baal's mental state worse,

"Ariana, do you think I've hurt him?" She spoke with a worried tone, " All I wanted was to make him see that he was harming himself and others by staying alone."

The serperior only smiled before transforming into a humanoid form, "Your majesty, thank you for granting me this form. I do not think you did anything wrong. If anything, you gave him a massive metaphorical slap to wake him up."

Xerneas calmed down at Arina's statement and said finally, "Well we'll know whether he is mad at me or not. I told him to meet me here before the sunset of today. Ariana...I'm leaving, with him or without him. I need to appoint someone in my place...and that will be you. That's why I bestowed that form unto you and my other important friends. In fact, as you may come to understand...That form provides many more abilities than you think. Use them wisely and also teach your children to protect the lands from Yveltal. Good luck my friend"

Ariana was astonished at the news that she was hearing...She felt that she was only an assistant to her majesty and at the most, a very good person to provide an alternate perspective. Yet she was now being provided with the keys to an entire kingdom and the power to rule it as well.

"As my final statement..." Xerneas' voice began echoing around the forests, "I decree that Ariana of my Forests and her descendants are the new royalty of my, Xerneas', Kingdom. All of you shall follow her rule from today onwards."

Back in Xerneas' room, a green Celebi knocked on the door before he was ushered in by Xerneas' voice. Celebi greeted the new royalty of the kingdom before glancing at the previous monarch with a smile,

"Are you ready to leave my lady?"

"Before we leave let me make one final adjustment" Xerneas replied before waving her hands at Ariana the Serperior. Abruptly, a green light covered Ariana before she emerged with a new dress on. It complimented her figure and made a much more royal impression on people. Xerneas cheekily grinned at Ariana before she held the little fairy's hand. A portal appeared right in front of them accompanied by a tearing sound and before they went through, Baal appeared from the tear in space. With a confident grin, he looked into Xerneas' eyes,

"Am I late?"
